Here comes Santa Claus!

Merry Christmas everyone!  I just finished the last of my Santa sculptures for the season.  I had so much fun creating him. Here is a few pictures of some of the other Christmas sculptures I did.  Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoy the Season!

Witches and more witches!

I am full swing into making witches and having a blast doing them.  Some of the best I think I have ever sculpted. Most are paper clay scupted  busts on pedestals.  All of these have been sold.

New work

Well, it's almost the end of august and I haven't added some of my newest pieces.  I am continuing do somethings that I have wanted to for a  long time and having fun doing them. The monster was part carved wood and sculpt and my very first monster. I am very proud of my newest shoe too. I love doing these gigantic wooden shoes.  they are so labor intensive though I can't afford to do them often. Thank you so much for dropping by!

Last one...I promise!

I don't know how I forgot these fun little guys.  I was experimenting and trying to get more realistic expressions and this is what I came up with.  Every time I look at them I laugh which is what it is all about!!!  These are buffalo or coyote gourds, hand painted by me.

Forgot the pumpkin stack!

This is a piece I am particularly proud of. I call it a totem and the pumpkins are double sided with faces so it each one can be turned to make different combinations. It is so much fun to spin the little pumpkins!  It is made  3 gourds and a heavy wooden ball at the base sculpted into a pumpkin. I hope to do more of these sometime. Thanks for stopping by!

Latest work!

I have neglected my blog and need to update it with a few of the pieces I have done recently.  I have been selling from the EHAG Emporium marketplace as well as PFATT marketplace (links on Right). I also have been doing a lot of commissions and some sales on Facebook.  Right now I am not accepting commissions and taking the time to do things I have wanted too for a long time. I have been in an owl mood lately and after studying owl anatomy I have made good use of it and made some fun pieces using owls. i haven't even begun to sculpt all of my ideas yet so please stay tuned.  I really appreciate each and everyone of you who come by to share my art with me :)

Mama pumpkin

I recently completed a fun sculpture of a Mama Jack o' Lantern and her babies (pumpkin seeds). They are sculpted from paper clay over gourds. I had an incredible experience with one of the babies. I had gone outside to take pictures and left them on a table to go get my camera. Just as I was going to go out the door a mama robin flew up and picked up a piece of moss and flew off.  Seconds later the male flew up and took off with one of the baby pumpkins!  It was funny but kind of heart breaking as well.  hours of sculpting and painting go into each one.  He is now officially the adopted brother. These were featured in the March EHAG Emporium and are sold.  Thank you for stopping by!

EHAG update

Tonight at 9 PM Eastern time is the monthly update of the EHAG Marketplace (Eclectic Halloween artist guild)  There promises to be some great Halloween art available this month too. If you have never checked it out before I really encourage you to. My offering this month is one of my favorite things to paint. Moons!  7 little moon gourds and  paper clay star are nestled in a vintage wooden bowl. Vintage orange tinsel makes up their nest. These are very small gourds ( 1 1/2" across) and a re very difficult to find. The bowl itself is 6" across. I have hand painted each little moon using vintage Halloween postcards for inspiration.  Each one is a one of a kind original.  I have poured hours of painting into each one but think of it as a labor of love.  I am asking $110.00 for them and offer free shipping.  Instead of the bowl, I can put ribbon hangers on them so they can be hung from a small tree. Perfect for a feather tree! As always, thank you for stopping by and sharing my art with me. The link to Ehag is:

Happy Valentines Day

Valentines day will soon be upon us and I am posting a few of the cookies I did in the past. These were completely made from paper clay! Also a sweet Valentine Queen from years ago. I am in the process of creating a Mr. Foxy piece for a commission.  Speaking of commissions, this would be the time I might be able to take requests. I am limited by time but  sometimes I can fulfill a commission.  I can be reached at the email link on the side.  Thank you for sharing my work with me!

Christmas time!

We are into the new year and I realized I did not post pictures of my Christmas creations. Hope yours was merry and bright!  First is a group Santa ornaments I did and a Santa with carved wooden birds perched on his hat. The third picture is a roly poly Santa ornament. Very tiny details as he is only 4" tall but fun to do. The last two are snowman ornaments. Love the colors and the soft blue is a favorite. Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out my Pinterest page (link on right) for more pictures of my work. Always happy to hear from people too!

More Ghoultide fun!

Here is a few more pieces I took with me as well as my new business/post cards!  I had to go back and make a moon man to take with me.  The head is a gourd with the features sculpted in paper clay.  The base is a very chunky wooden candle holder.

I took 25 ornaments like these pumpkins and sold them all before I got pictures. I should have know better.  I did the same with the little gourds on vintage tart pans. I had over 20 of these as well.  Oh well, a lesson learned the hard way. Always makes me sad when I don't have a picture of something I made.

Ghoultide fun!

A large (21" across wooden antique Cheesebox. In front is my wooden hand painted car with sculpted witch and stars!
My "Fly me to the moon" wooden car. So fun and it even had a trunk that opened!

This little witch brought a lot little imps to the show to make some trouble.  This was hand sculpted over a wooden base.  She also was larger at over 15".

I have neglected my blog in the last few months.  Preparing and getting ready for the Ghoultide Gathering Show took every minute of my day to get ready for.  Above is a few of the things I was able to take with me.  I was thrilled when I sold out in under 2 hours.  However, I realized I didn't even begin to have enough pieces like most of the other artists. To attend and meet the other artists and get to see all the original art was a dream come true.  It is as magical as everyone says.  It will always be a highlight of my career as an artist to be invited to ba a part of it all!  I was especially touched by the collectors who drove hundreds of miles just to meet me. Some I have known for many many years.  I am very blessed!

Busy, Busy!

I have been busy getting ready for Ghoultide Gathering but have done a few things in the last few months I thought I would share!

Ooh La La Witch for Spooky time Jingles update!

On the 13th of every month, Spooky Time Jingles artists market updates to a site full of wonderful new goodies.  I hope you will come by and check out the beautiful pieces that are available each month. I have a ivory and black witch available for sale this month.  I love the colors together and the ribbon gathered around her neck is a favorite.  She can either be an ornament or be displayed on a stand.  Please visit the Website for more info.  Thank you for sharing my art with me.

Mr. Froggie and PFATT

On the 10th of every month at noon the PFATT marketplace will open and if you haven't checked it out yet, you need to come see all the wonderful art up for sale.  This little froggie sculpt will be offered for sale by me and he is so much fun!  I love frogs and being able to sculpt one and put a dapper little hat on him and some Halloween clothes is even more fun! He is sculpted from paper clay on a real gourd with a sculpted face. This is a one of a kind original.  Thank you for sharing my art with me.

Up, up and away

I made this fun little hot air balloon with an adventurous black cat awhile ago.  Doesn't he just look like he is having fun! He is sold but he fired my imagination so much that I have plans for different ones.  Love the idea of a moon balloon and maybe a pumpkin one.

STJ update witch and frog

It's that time again and I am especially proud to introduce my newest sculpture.  This was a very intricate and time consuming sculpt for me. Doing and open mouth face is always hard but then I added hands and a  charming little frog!  Just loved her expression as well. She will be available on the Spooky time Jingles market website on the 13th of April.  Please check out all the wonderful art by my fellow artists.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll! Pfatt update

I'm excited about the PFATT marketplace update this month.  If you haven't checked out PFATT yet it is a wonderful collection of artists with some of the most unique art pieces that can be found anywhere. You can visit at: Pfatt marketplace I know you will enjoy it.  My new pieces this month are Halloween shakers.  I love shakers and these

have a lovely sound. They are made using paper clay so they are very sturdy.  Each side of the shaker is a hand painted original. Festive ribbons and vintage look crepe paper fringe makes these the perfect addition to your Halloween decorations!  Market will update at 10 AM Eastern time.

STJ Witch paddle

It's time for a new update for Spooky time Jingles and this is something brand new for me.  It's a spook spanker!   Ever wanted someway to protect your self from wicked witches, ghost, and goblins?  Well, this is how.  This wooden paddle was so fun to paint and I must say, i think the witch face turned out especially well.  So wonderfully wicked.  You can check out my piece and some others by my fellow artists at:
See you there and thank you for stopping by.

Easter Goose eggs

Here are the rest of my Goose eggs ready for the Pfatt market update on the 10th of this month.  These real goose eggs are so fun to paint and 3 times the size of a regular egg.  I love vintage Easter postcards and took my inspiration from them.  Each little rabbit and duck were painted from photos.  They are so pretty all together.  I will be selling them separately.  Please contact me for more info if interested in purchasing. Thanks for dropping by! Tammy (sold)

Easter goose eggs for Pfatt

The Pfatt marketplace update for February is coming up on the 10th and I am still doing Easter eggs.  This is the first of three or four eggs I hope to offer.  They are real goose eggs and much sturdier and larger (3 1/2 to 4") than chicken eggs.  I painted it with all original hand painting in pretty pastel colors. I then put it in a small vintage wooden bowl with pink German grass.  How fun is that?  I plan to ask $50.00 each with free shipping.  Please contact me if interested and visit my blog for updates on the others I am working on.  Thank you for sharing my art with me.

Pfatt and STJ updates

I had two market place updates, Pfatt on the 10th and STJ , today the 13th.  Due to technical difficulties with my art lights (aggghhh) I am slow to get this posted.  The Easter eggs and Valentine cookies are sold.  I am doing happy pieces this month because in Montana its  pretty dreary until Spring.  These happy little faces just make me smile and lift my spirits.  They are all sculpted from paper clay and I am particularly happy with the yawning egg and cookie.  How fun is that?  I think that is why I called my studio "Light and Shadow".  I love to do happy smiling faces but then I love to do old craggy witch faces too.  Just depends on mood I guess or inspiration.  I am going to be starting some flower seeds here too in a few days.  That always lifts my spirits!  Thanks for dropping by.PS I added a picture of my Easter egg gourds before the were painted so an idea of the process can be seen.[...]

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to wish everyone Merry Christmas!  I am done for the year except still plugging away on a few shoe commissions.  These last two ornaments just make me smile big time.  I am so lucky to work at something that makes me smile and just plain happy most of the time.  Thank you all for your support, your purchases and your friendship.  I look forward to the new year and all it will bring.  Wishing you all joy, Tammy

Tiny Santa with elves shoes

I also wanted to share a much smaller pair of Santa shoes I made.  These shoes are about 3 1/2" long.  It was hard to make the tiny elves but I love how they turned out.  These are not available for purchase.  Thank you for stopping by!
