Death in June, Kapo!, Boyd Rice - "Live at Racing Club, Gavere, Belgium 22. 12. 1996" (1996)

2016-04-07T09:32:37.117+02:00

(Picture courtesy of somebody called miss_goodwrong. Found on Internet.)

You may propably know the bootleg recording of a concert from Belgium back from 1996 called Only Europa knows.
This one is from CD-R sent to me by a... I suppose Belgian... guy whom I met in the nineties, when I was DJing in Prague on my event called "Yet the Bloodbells chime...".
I promised him to send something as well, but I lost his address so I feel like an ungrateful bastard for all those years.

Hey, if you're reading this by accident and you remember that evening in club Hrob (or St.yx), sorry.

This recording is not perfect of course, but is quite listenable. Consider this as a document of time.

1 Boyd Rice - introduction (0:27)
2 Kapo! - Headhunter (2:46)
3 Death in June - Death of a Man (4:18)
4 Death in June - Bring in the Night (3:01)

Diamanda Galás - "The D-vine Punishment" (1986)

2015-05-30T00:18:54.098+02:00

Diamanda Galás' album "The D-vine Punishment" was realeased back in 1986, then reissued with "The Saint of the Pit" (also 1986) in 1988 on one CD. The tracks from segment 'Deliver me from mine Enemies' were together in one track.

Because "The Saint of the Pit" was published without songs in one track, I propose you only "The D-vine Punishment" record. I think, that the CD reissue is still available at some retailers or via Discogs.

Below you can download the album with this segment split into individual tracks:

1 Deliver me from mine Enemies: This is the Law of the Plague (4:05)
2 Deliver me from mine Enemies: Deliver me from mine Enemies (2:46)
3 Deliver me from mine Enemies: We shall not accept your Quarantine (2:42)
4 Deliver me from mine Enemies: Εξελόυμε (2:38)
5 Deliver me from mine Enemies: Yιατί, Ó Θ-ός (3:05)
6 Deliver me from mine Enemies: Psalm 22 [excerpt] (3:58)
7 Free among the Dead: Psalm 88 (7:35)
8 Free among the Dead: Lamentations (2:45)
9 Free among the Dead: Sono l'Antichristo (3:12)

Veselí filištínové - "Šithauz" (1987)

2015-04-25T00:18:31.050+02:00

Veselí filištínové (Cheerful philistines in czech) was an industrial band, which existed in the second half of the eighties. This tape was compiled by main person behind this project Antonín Hlávka back in 1987 after the group disbanded. The tape was given away to the friends and allies.
The name Šithauz (Shithouse) was inspired by sewage disposal plant in Prague, which served as a rehearsal room for some czech industrial bands (like Střední Evropa in previous post; btw, SE's guitarist Petr Trpák played saxophone in Veselí Filištínové).
I'm sorry for relatively low quality of the recordings, but it is due the poor recording conditions back then.

[The cassette was reissued in an expanded form of 3 CD's in 2011. Some info in czech here. It's possible to order it on this address, but I have no idea if the guy behind the label is shipping abroad. Try it, if you are interested.]

Střední Evropa - "Men instead of machines live!" (1993)

2015-05-30T00:24:57.052+02:00

Live recordings of seminal czech industrial group Střední Evropa (Central Europe). This tape offers a mixture of electronic sounds and metal percussions. Pretty addictive in my humble opinion.
The band later transformed into experimental/death/grind band M.A.C. of Mad.

Vanessa is a legendary czech electronic project. The group went on hiatus around 1997, but was ressurected in 2009, when the latest album was released.
For those who like EBM and similar music.

2011-02-02T13:17:03.707+01:00

This is a compilation CD which was part of a huge compendium book about czech alternative culture between years 1945 and 1989. Included is alternative music such as PPU, or even heavy metal (Törr). The lyrics are in czech. Unfortunately three last tracks are textual experiments and poems and right know I have no translation for them.
Some recordings come from the interprets' golden years, some are later re-recordings.

Paprsky inženýra Garina - "Blbá Evropa" (1991)

2011-11-03T00:09:46.064+01:00

(image)

Czech performance/industrial unit Paprsky inženýra Garina named after Aleksey Tolstoy's sci-fi novel "The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin" (or The Garin Death Ray) published in 1926 started in 1985. They never took themselves too seriously, so you're spared from funny wannabe dark image and "though" statements. They were once presented as Einstürzende Laibach and I must say, that I agree with this comparison. I remember seeing them for the last time (I don't remember their later gigs, because their appearance on the stage was very rare) back in 1995, when they played before Test Dept. on Alternativa festival at Theatre Archa.

Below you can download their one and only album called Blbá Evropa, which means Stupid Europe in czech.

1 Elegie / Elegy (6:07)
2 New born Child Pray (6:27)
3 Vám! / To you! (2:39)
4 Vyflusni polibek / Spit the kiss out (10:03)
