Love Lines 34.

Not my typical type of work, but the commission was for a great woman. Plus! It's the holidays and it's the time of year that you adjust and budge a bit for the happiness of others! (Yes, I love Christmas this much - and drawing - anything in the name of Christmas and Drawing.)

Pen and ink. App. 4x5. Love Lines.

Are You Insane?

So some of you are fortunate enough to know my good friend Wai, but for those of you who don't - Get Ready too! I've constructed a small but majorly fun project for myself where I'm going to paint my friend in his various robot poses. Along side him will be some of my favourite quotes he shouts while doing the robot.

There is no deadline for this project of mine and no expiry on our friendship - so expect to see a lot of this character as time goes on!

"Are You Insane?" - 6x6 panel - Acrylic

"The Affair"

An amazing pastry chef and friend commissioned me to paint this latest piece of mine! It's all too good, when you find a friend who wants a triptych painting containing a Squid and a Mermaid. Those were her only "demands" and the rest was up to me! Sorry though Anna, an attractive mermaid is not a mermaid painted by me.

(6x8 panels - acrylic - love in every brush stroke)

2 New Paintings! (Process)

So I just finished a pretty big job that was digitally done and labour intensive! I had a great time working on it but I was dying to loosen up and try out some other concepts of mine!

I started two new paintings for fun and experience.

The first is a portrait I hope to make look a lot more interesting and the second is of 2 pink things that don't have reflections yet.

Although these two works aren't good representations of what I'm about to say, I really want to make my work have more of an emotional connection with the viewer. Most great works of art contain mood and feeling and I need to start learning how to wield these two unteachable principals. I want to learn how to make people feel.

Long Time!

So it's been quite awhile since I last posted anything on this blog and I thought at 5:38 in the morning, that it'd be a good idea too. I've been really busy lately, doing random creations like painting a 10 foot long, long board with my good friend David! And getting things in line for the next step(s) to my website! Good things are coming! And updates will follow with this page too! - *on a side note for this blog: it has now become "ill droppings", and will be a wild card for my stuff that really has no place anywhere but has to be created!

Of late! I designed a new cover for a Rhino Thug (Amazing BC Rapper named Kid Lithium) who just happens to be letting the world download his newest album at: click here

And! I just put my ink drawing, "Cautious Cock" up on Threadless for voting! As of right now, it only has 5 more days to be voted on. Which is funny because "5" is the number you want to vote on, if you want it to be made into a t-shirt! If you voted for me, it'd be fun like a useless thing you write in the back of your best friend's yearbook.

Friend Sketches and a Website.

Jang's Favourite Fish.
Tom's warped mind (these should be vectored)

2 Drawings 2 Friends did on a lazy Sunday.
And no, my boys aren't artists but I'm feeling these pages!
(Draw with you guys any day)

In other good news! I just recently launched a personal website!

Pretty happy about this one and if you notice on the site, there's a blog page! Which means that this relationship between blogger and I will be obsolete soon.
Which is good! Because relationships are for Suckas! lol

Little Paintings.

Some little paintings. For school and Pleasure.
For Mom.

Fruit Mania!

A good person said "fruit mania" to me the other day and it made me think of this. (I'm still laughing at those two words. lol)

A neat drawing I did for Sequential Narrative class! It belongs to a Korean fable I illustrated but this was one of my favourite images. It's of a Kyeryong. (A Korean mystical creature, that's half chicken and half dragon! - only Koreans could think of that shit.)

Morning Fun!

When I was in between sleep and reality this morning, I gave a lot of thought to "The Brave Little Toaster" - which was one of my favourite movies from when I was little. I then started to think about those funny animated lobby items walking across a drive in movie screen. With those two thoughts combined, I came up with these small canvases.

Saturated Woman

A Painting for class.

Just a really fun assignment using Adobe After Effects.

Walk cycle - first time using the program - please don't hate.

Happy Birthday Robin!

Happy Birthday Robin! I knew you liked Hippos and it was so much fun seeing them at the zoo too!

My Boy

I just want my little cousin to know that I'm going to give him the Universe.

Gee For Nari!

It's been such a long time since I've posted and I miss it! But I've been keeping occupied with a lot of other art that hasn't hit the scanner. I had to take a second to do something fun and for someone too!

This 6x6 went and goes out to a dear friend Nari, who is currently already in Korea and won't be coming back. Do well out there Nari and don't forget "Gee!"

YES! They're Back!

This song makes me wanna be a "Shining Star, Super Star - Shining Star" LOL

Late Night Drawing #4

So Rad Dan gave me some willow charcoal to play with the other night
and every since then I can't put it down!

Of course I've used it many times over but I haven't had the joy
of solely using it to draw in a long time.

Here are three quick drawings that aren't anything special but were fun for me.

Little Lines and a Painting.

A collection of some small line drawings that I really took too.

The painting also holds a special place in my heart.

(image) My Friend Dave creeping through a community of Natives.

(image) 4 heads.

(image) 4 Breasts.

Biggie Portrait.

Just coming back from New York, I thought it only right to post my Biggie portrait.
Brooklyn's Finest is one of those iconic nouns that all illustrators and artists
should draw or paint at least once in their lives.
Kinda like tigers and gorillas.

Late Night Drawing #3

Some fun drawings I did while waiting for TF2 to load!

Late Night Drawing #2

I can feel your Halo, Halo, Hallooo!!!!

Figure Drawing 04/28/09

Last Sunday I was just taking up space and air so I decided to
break my fast from TSA and go for some extra life drawing.
It was a spontaneous decision but I'm so happy that I did it!
I almost forgot for a second that the whole reason why I'm
in this illustration game is because I love to draw.

During my session I dropped my 4B general and it was toast!
You know what I'm saying. The worst position you could
be in - sharpen - break - sharpen - br e a k.
Like damn man, now I'm paying ten dollars to look at a naked guy.
lol But dun-dun-dun-dun-dunt-DUNT! I
yelled out good ol' "E-CHO-GE-O" and ask a korean guy if I could borrow
some of whatever he could give me.
Of course - conte - the thing I never use.

But whatever, I actually enjoyed it and
it took me away from drawing so technically.
It was a nice feeling to draw with tone instead of line.

These drawings are both five minutes long.

Late Night Drawing #1

So I should have been working on an essay that's due for me this Friday but
instead I thought it better to get some grey scale practice in. Looking at
busts and casts inspire me to draw and paint to know end (wish I owned one) so I
decided to do just that.

One of my life goals is to sit down in front of a fountain, any
fountain for that matter in Florence and draw that mother up!
Just thinking about that gets me amped!
Like my ex-girlfriend always said to me, "Someday Jesse, someday."

An Illustration illustrating the review to Kanye West's newest album, "808's and Heartbreak"
The short of it is that he's a cry baby and he sounds more like a robot than human.
