Happy 2013! Our New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Celebration

2013-08-21T00:25:51.820+08:00

Happy 2013 everyone! This is another photo overload post! Two weeks before New Year's Eve, I suggested to have a camping themed celebration to make it more fun for the kids since we owned 2 kiddie tents. We didn't have much preparation. I changed the list of food we were supposed to prepare for New Year's Eve. The easiest camping food to prepare I had in mind were S'mores, hotdogs and grilled corn. I made the food tags 2 days before the celebration. We ditched using sparklers this year. All we used were colorful flashing sticks, lightsaber toys and party trumpets. We stayed up till  past 1 AM! I turned this table into a kiddie tent to accommodate the kids... and the kid at heart! marshmallows  I used melted chocolate to stick the teddy grahams to the marshmallows.Credits:  food tag cliparts from clker.com, all-free-download, cliparts101 Camping just isn't the same without s'mores!   BBQ Grill cupcakes baked by sis gummy snakes, pretzel sticks and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Cheddar Aside from grilled corn, the kids had steamed corn gummy worms with crushed oreos Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Colors, gummy fish Trying to catch a fish in the ponda plastic fish is easier to catch! lotsa junk food! hotdog fixings footlong hotdogs BBQ Chicken Packets prepared by sisYema cake from my cousin waiting for the clock to strike 12! enjoying S'mores till night! Painting with light playing with lightsaber toys and enjoying glowing lollipops Greeted 2013 by blowing party trumpets!watched fireworksWe had a simple New Year's day celebration. Melting Snowman S'mores

2012-12-18T22:01:47.735+08:00

One of the things I've been meaning to buy is a S'more Maker Set just because I love S'mores!  I actually  purchased  one a few months ago and this was the first time we've used it. The traditional s'more is made with toasted marshmallow, graham crackers and pieces of chocolate ( I prefer Hershey's milk chocolate bar). I grew up not knowing about the existence of this yummy treat because it's more popular in the United States but eversince I got a taste of this  gooey piece of heaven, I got hooked! I  already lost count how many times I posted about s'mores. I've introduced my nieces to S'mores a few years back and they all loved it! So recently, the kids had fun making melting snowman s'mores and to add more fun, I turned it into a mini competition. Whoever makes the cutest melting snowman s'more wins a prize! I saw the idea  of making melting snowman s'mores online but the blog is private so I can't link it. Sis, my cousin and  my Aunt judged the kids' creations. I let the judges out of the room while the kids were creating their masterpieces so they won't be biased. Ingredients ( other candies used are not in the picture)Hershey's Smore Maker SetI made a few melting snowman s'mores beforehand so the kids had an idea what to make.Instead of  hershey's chocolate bar, the kids used nutella. The alcohol gel lasted for 2 hours.I made it easy for the kids by preparing everything they needed. I premade the snowman heads adding details using black gourmet writer for the eyes and mouth and orange food color for the nose.marshmallows and chocolate drink to go with the kids' s'morespretzel sticks and assorted candiesRoasting marshmallowsThey had cold Milo chocolate drinkThe kiddos enjoyed putting these together!they got consolation prizesThe kiddos with one of the judges. CrossWinds Swiss Luxury Resort, Tagaytay City

2012-12-12T21:51:06.364+08:00

We were in Tagaytay yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday. We left the house after the kids' school classes and it took us 3 hours to reach Tagaytay because of traffic. We were looking for a restaurant to dine in and we happened to pass by Crosswinds Swiss Luxury Resort. We can't help but notice the beautiful displays that come alive with festive Yuletide spirit! We dropped by to ask for  room rates. The kids were truly delighted to see the Reindeer carousel under the gigantic Christmas tree that has been set up at the main entrance. They wanted to ride the carousel but got disappointed when they found out it was not spinning and  intended for decoration purpose only. lol! I took the opportunity to take photos of the kids since I dressed them up for a cold weather and thought  they would really look cute with all these whimsical  decors. We saw a Christmas store but I was not able to check it out due to lack of time and  we still had to visit other attractions in Tagaytay. We were able to get home by almost 10:00 P.M. Upon entering my room I found an envelope on my table. It was a card  from Norway! Ms. Joy of Joy's notepad sent me a greeting card adorned with  her beautiful sky photo! Thank you for your kindness and thoughfulness Ms. Joy! I really appreciate it! May God always bless you and your family!    Happy Birthday dear Sis! L♥ve you loads! The card that Joy sent me. All I Want For Christmas meme and Christkindlmarket at MOA

2014-01-11T15:14:36.189+08:00

First of all I'd like to thank  Lori and Mecoy  for tagging me! Are you done with your Christmas shopping yet? I'm done wrapping all the gifts for my relatives, friends and Godchildren. How about you?The tag came with these simple rules: 1. Kindly use the same title as well as the photo that I put here (that blurry picture of a Christmas tree above) in your post.2. List 6 things that you want to receive for Christmas.3. Tag 6 of your friends to make the same post (no tag backs).4. Send me the link so I could check it out too.My Christmas Wish List:1. New tripod- The leg lock of my tripod is broken. I can no longer adjust the height at a certain level. One of the legs is stuck! My fault because I used it on the beach and was soaked in seawater. I'll definitely buy a new one for myself.2.  Canon PowerShot D20- I so want an underwater camera! I'll also buy this one for myself hopefully next year.3. Cute Christmas themed Dinnerware set- I have lotsa single pieces of Christmas themed dishware but I want a whole set this time coz I want a  festive table setting for our Nochebuena. 4.Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II lens- I have the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens but would like to upgrade to this!5.Wala na ako maisip! Chocolates na nga lang! hehehe!6. All I want for Christmas is YOU!- OO ikaw! Sweetclipart.comSorry I'm not tagging anyone. Everyone is welcome to play along! Some photos to share I was extremely  disappointed with the  Chriskindlmarket at MOA! I find it small and there was nothing much inside. I paid P200/pax for the entrance fee, not totally worth it! I want my P1,000 back! ahhhhhhhhh! It's being marketed as one's boarding pass to European Christmas with the traditional setting and ambiance that almost replicate the original event. I think they should lower the entrance fee to P50 hmmmp!  This one is outside the Chriskindlmarket.  The little kerengkengs are infatuated with One Direction! LOL The one in the middle watches them sing on youtube everyday! Yes, everyday![...]

Ykaie's Rock Star Themed Birthday Party

2012-12-01T23:40:13.120+08:00

It would look like Ykaie had a big party because of all the preparations and party food but it was just a small intimate party. Only 6 of my nieces, a few cousins and Aunts graced the event. Each rocker sang her favorite song. Ykaie sang her rendition of Rolling in the Deep while playing the electric guitar. She delighted the audience with her performance! You totally rock Ykaie! You really have such an awesome stage presence and showmanship! The entire band put on a fabulous show filled with good music and lots of  electrifying energy and  power. It was such a successful concert! The producer of the concert was blown away so he already planned  an International concert tour for Ykaie and her band! chos lang! hehe!Warning: Photo Overload! The Concert Stage The Rock Star Ykaie and her bandParty Food  Guitar shaped pizzas Star shaped Ham and cheese sandwiches Kool-Aid Popcorn- I downloaded the free fry box template here and I purchased the cliparts here. BSA Twin Towers, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City

2012-11-21T12:32:53.111+08:00

We had an overnight stay at BSA Twin Towers for Ykaie's birthday celebration. It's just 45 minutes drive from our place. Yesterday was her actual birthday ( Nov. 19) but her Rock Star Party will be held on Sunday.  BSA Twin Towers Condotel is located at St. Francis Square, Ortigas Center behind SM Megamall. You just have to cross the street to reach Megamall. Sis and I purchased the voucher from Ensogo for P2,999 which is just right for our budget. The deal is for an overnight Studio Prime accommodation for 2 +buffet breakfast. A maximum of  2 children below 12 years old are free of charge but they allowed us to have 3 kids in the room for free! There were very limited choices for breakfast so don't expect too much. Kid's buffet breakfast costs P150. What drew me to purchasing the deal was the cute lagoon type swimming pool. The kiddos adore swimming! We went swimming after checking in and the next day after breakfast. We had the swimming pool all to ourselves! The pools are located on the 52nd floor. Our room has twin beds. I managed to do a little trick so the 5 of us can sleep comfortably on this small twin beds. Kitchenette Small dining tableHello Kitties! Preparing for Ykaie's Rock Star Themed Birthday Party

2012-11-10T23:19:18.743+08:00

Look who's ready to rock!     Rock Star themed birthday party came to mind when I purchased the blue shirt Ykaie's wearing in the picture above. I showed sis the shirt and the matching shades and  suggested that Ykaie should have a Rock Star themed party for her 5th birthday. I bought it last year and  it was supposed  to be her birthday shirt for the party but it was a bit long for the tutu I made for her so I just replaced it with a different one.      I did a little photoshoot with Ykaie over the weekend. I had already taken more or less 20 shots when she started to get cranky so I just bribed her with P100 and a bottle of coke! I know I'm such a bad Aunt but I needed some Rock Star poses for her invitations and birthday banner. Her face lit up when she heard the word coke! She got more excited getting coke than the money. lol!  I asked her to shout "yeah" while pretending to be singing, hence the shots with her mouth  wide open.Invitation layout created in Photoshop. DIY Swimsuit Cover Ups

2012-11-04T22:49:59.062+08:00

I know It has been a year since I  made these swimsuit cover ups for my nieces but I think it's worth sharing.  I have forgotten to post about this last summer when we went to Camayan Beach Resort in Subic. I made these using my old T-shirts. This is a great way to recycle old shirts! Instead of tossing them or cutting them up to use as cleaning rugs ( I usually do this if the shirt is already worn out.), I turned them into something new! I had fun transforming these old tees into another pieces of clothing that my nieces can wear. I'm planning to make more since I do have loads of old  unwanted shirts that are either stained, deformed or washed out. I'd like to revamp them or make new creations. I think I will be busy making DIY T-shirt projects in the coming weeks! These shirts are not that old. I picked out the ones that still  look nice for this project. [...]

Witch Themed Halloween Party (Part2)

2012-11-05T00:32:09.356+08:00

This is the 3rd time I've thrown  a halloween party for my 7 nieces. Four of them are my siblings' daughters while the other 3 are my cousin's daughters. My other nieces and nephews live far away so  my 7 nieces are the only ones who can attend the party. We usually celebrate halloween party every 3rd sunday of October. We do it in advance because they go trick or treating on the 31st at the mall and on the night of October 31, they give away candies to kids who are trick or treating. I always provide the costumes they wear. All they have to do is  go to the party and enjoy. I purchased 2 of the witch costumes, two have been used in their previous halloween party and the rest including the 2 orange wigs were given to me by friends. I've already thought of a theme for next year's halloween party and it will surely be so much fun, scary, hair raising and spine chilling! The seven little witchesMy sister made this halloween salad for the adultsWacky shots!Want some witch's brew? Witch Themed Halloween Party (Part 1)

2012-10-27T21:33:39.989+08:00

I have so much photos to share so I decided to divide this halloween post into 2 parts. These are the halloween party food I prepared for my 7 nieces last sunday. I made the witch's finger cookies, witch marshmallow pops and cauldron donut holes the night before the party and the rest I prepared on the day of the party itself. If last  year we had Ghost and Pumpkin themed halloween party, this year is witch themed halloween party!Whoopie Pie Spiders- Lemon square munch mallows + pocky sticksWitch Marshmallow Pops- green marshmallows, fondant for the hair, chocolate cookies + hershey's kisses for the hat Witch's Finger CookiesCaramel Apple BitesWitch Cauldron Donut Holes- Donut holes ( Dunkin donut's choco honey dipped munchkins dipped in chocolate)+ Nerds (watermelon flavor), witch clipartMonster's Intestines - Baked Bacon SkewersHalloween Fruit cupsHalloween cake push-up popsSpider Pizza- Spider is made of  marshmallow fondant and I used cream cheese for the spider web. Aglio Olio with severed finger hotdogsSand Witches- Chicken apple salad sandwiches. Inspired by Lisa Storms' Sand Witches Veggie ChipsWitch's Brew- I purchased this Fifth Avenue beverage dispenser 3 months ago and  found out later that the silver colored glass base is not fused to the glass body. It was poorly attached using a cheap adhesive and it was broken apart.  My cousin just secured it using silicone and mighty bond. It was too late to return it back! To prevent accident, I just used it for decoration purpose only.Candy TableHalloween Jelly PopsGhost Marshmallows and gummy eyeballs and chocolatesHalloween Sugar Cookiesmore chocolatessmall version of the chocolate eyeballsGame PrizesLinking to: Color Connection[...]

Halloween Brownie Mix Cookies

2012-10-17T17:40:00.818+08:00

These are super easy homemade cookies that you can make in a snap!  You can add nuts or chocolate chips to make the cookies more special. But since it is halloween month, I used halloween sprinkles to decorate the cookies. The cookies were delicious, soft and chewy. I just used a convection toaster oven in baking them.Brownie Mix Cookies1 box Betty Crocker Fudge Brownies (or any brownie mix you prefer)1/4 cup all purpose flour1/4 cup vegetable oil or canola oil2 eggssprinkles Preheat oven to 200˚C. In a medium bowl, combine brownie mix, flour, oil and eggs and blend thoroughly.  Drop by rounded tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets.  Top with sprinkles then bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are just set. Transfer cookies to a rack to cool.Epic fail! Because I used a small baking pan, the  first batch of cookies spread while baking and fused together. I just used a cookie cutter to remedy the situation. They came out nicely!Next time I will use an ice cream scoop for a uniformly sized cookies.Trick or treat?Happy Halloween!Want some?[...]

Bato Springs Resort, San Pablo Laguna

2012-10-13T10:27:09.076+08:00

The resort is huge but needs improvement in some areas specially the restrooms. Some of the sinks and  toilet bowls are clogged. There were numerous annoying flies buzzing around our food. They should use a pesticide or natural repellent  to terminate those pests and prevent them from coming back. Despite my negative comments, we enjoyed our stay because we got to celebrate my niece's 3rd birthday. It was almost 9AM when we got to the resort. Wilton Animal Pals 50 piece Cutter Set- Bento Challenge Part 2

2012-10-28T22:10:10.625+08:00

My aim is to make cute snack bentos for my nieces using Wilton Animal Pals 50 piece Cutter Set. This is the second part of the challenge. (part one I posted here) I have to make 50 bentos using cookie cutters. I've been enjoying making fun snacks for the kiddos. If only I could do this everyday, I would but I'm also busy with other things. My bento collection is growing! As much as possible I try to avoid online window shopping because once I see cute new items, I can't help myself but purchase them. I still have a lot of stuffs I haven't used. Dads, Kamayan and Saisaki, West Avenue Q.C.- The Ultimate Buffet

2014-01-11T15:26:16.783+08:00

Before my Aunt left for California, she treated us to a wondeful dinner at Dads, Kamayan, and Saisaki. When it comes to buffet dining, our first choice will always be these restaurants because the price is not only reasonable but they  also offer 3 great buffets in one: Dads for Continental fare, Kamayan for authentic Filipino cuisine and Saisaki for Japanese specialties. I've dined at the other 2 branches (Megamall and Glorietta) but so far the branch at West Avenue is my favorite! The customer service is very impressive! The staffs were very attentive and they make their rounds to ask the customers what more they want from the buffet  so they can get and serve them. A staff overheard my Aunt wanting more lechon so he got some for her. I didn't experience this kind gestures from the 2 other branches. My 3 nieces were charged as one for half the price. They raided the ice cream section and chocolate fondue! I didn't take much pictures of the food but there were more than 200 buffet choices.Dad's Ultimate Buffet( Includes Kamayan and Saisaki)Lunch (Mon-Thursday)-P595Lunch ( Fri-Sun)-P695Dinner (Mon-Sun)P695 Children below 4ft-P290Toddler- free of charge Kamayan Buffet onlyLunch and Dinner ( Mon-Sun)-P415Children below 4ft-P225Saisaki Buffet onlyLunch(Mon-Thurs)P555Dinner(Mon-Sun)P655Lunch(Fri-Sun)P655Children below 4ft-P265Carving Station: Roast beef, Dad's Ham                                                                        Roast TurkeyLechonPaellaSashimiTempuraTemakiSome of Kamayan's Authentic Filipino foodSome of the food I devoured! [...]

Seriland- Trick Art Museum and 3D Theater

2012-09-22T22:19:48.668+08:00

Last year sis and I took my 3 nieces to Seriland  and because they love posing for the camera, we went back again with some of my cousins and other nieces as well. Seriland's regular Entrance fee is P150/ attraction. I purchased a voucher from Beeconomic which cost P540 (1,800 value) for 6 people which was good for 2 main attractions. The Trick Art Museum  features new art paintings particularly filipiniana themed paintings creating illusions of depth and 3 dimensionality. The kids enjoyed interacting with the paintings though they  actually look flat in person. You will only see the 3D effect when you view the photos.  The kids got tired and hungry so we went for a snack at Pancake house before proceeding to the next attraction which was the 3D cinema plus.We also went to SM MOA by the Bay Amusement Park for some kiddie rides.Three of my nieces tried the Wow Balls where they had to get inside this huge inflatable balls  and be able to walk on water without getting wet. They got all sweaty when they got out of the balls. They said it was too hot inside.Linking to: Color Connection[...]

Spontaneous Get Together

2012-09-15T21:49:12.477+08:00

Sis and I were enjoying eating deep fried liempo and crispy binagoongan when I blurted out that we should have a "baboy bonding" session with the gang sometime. lol! She was laughing at me but was open to the idea. One boring sunday we decided to visit my aunt and cousins in Novaliches. I sent my cousin a text message to get ready coz the gang will be coming over to their house for a filipino style picnic lunch. Since the picnic was spontaneous, we weren't able to stick with "everything pig related food". I know it wasn't very healthy so sis and I took xenical after consuming these fatty food to clear our digestive system from all the pork impurities! lol!  Besides, we don't do this very often. Foods were served on banana leaves and we all ate using our bare hands! The next day, I told sis that next time we should get together for a bacon buffet lunch! CLUB PUNTA FUEGO-Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Nasugbu Batangas

2012-09-01T21:52:53.360+08:00

We arrived a bit early for our check in time.  A staff told us all rooms were fully booked so we had to wait for a few hours before we can checked into our rooms. To maximize our time, we went to Terrazas de Punta Fuego first to check out the place and go swimming. Terrazas de Punta Fuego is more or less 30 minutes away from Peninsula de Punta Fuego. If you are a guest at Peninsula de Punta Fuego, you can also visit Terrazas de Punta Fuego and get to enjoy their facilities too! Visiting Club Punta Fuego was well worth the money we spent since we got to visit both places and got to enjoy the amenities! It's like hitting 2 birds with one stone! Too bad we only got to spend 2 days and 1 night. I could have booked for a 3D/2N stay but Ykaie has classes and  vouchers are valid from Sundays-Thursdays only and they don't allow booking on long weekends. Nevertheless, we had an awesome stay eventhough it has been for such a short time.I love this hammock! The beachWe didn't go swimming in the beach due to the big crazy waves and the current was a bit strong. When I saw the deal being offered on Metrodeal site for 55% off for 2-Days/1-Night Casitas room accommodation, I grabbed the chance to avail without thinking twice! Price was P1,999/pax and  4 vouchers are required per booking. They are now offering it for P1,499/pax! Waaaaaa so unfair! I purchased the vouchers in june and scheduled our trip last Aug 19-20. We were  so ecstatic to be on this beautiful resort!Perks included:Inclusive of breakfast and welcome drinksShuttle Service within the resortUnlimited internet access at the loungeUse of Mountain bikes15% discount on Spa (massage)10% discount on Water Sports rentalAccess to resort’s facilities such as: game room, swimming pools, squash and tennis courts, beach etc.Our room was nice, tastefully furnished, spacious with cozy beds but I didn't like the pillows provided. The place has 4 types of  swimming pools. I so love the double infinity pool perched on a cliff edge overlooking the sea! The scenery was awesome! Due to lack of time and the light intermittent rain showers, we were not able to go to the beach but I was able to take a few shots of one of the beaches around the place. There are actually 12 beach coves but only a few are swimmable and some being preserved and  protected.  We had a fantastic time and would recommend this to anybody. It's a  great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city! We'll definitely be back in the future!Refreshing Screw pine juice served as a welcome drink Our roomKiddie pool Double infinity poolFamily PoolSingle infinity poolBecause it rained, muds were being washed out from the mountains to the sea reason why the color of the water in the background was brownish. Teddy Graham S'mores Bars

2012-08-17T20:24:56.029+08:00

I have been planning for a kiddie picnic but because of the unpredictable weather I always have to postpone it to a later date. These teddy graham s'mores bars are one of the picnic sweet treats I'd like to prepare for the kiddos. I wanted to make a fun looking yummy s'mores that the kiddos will love so I thought of adding teddy grahams for some cuteness. I got around to  making  a few pieces for the kids to taste and they loved them! These have all of the essential elements of a traditional s'mores but I added a little  more pizazz by topping with Teddy Grahams and sprinkling with 100's & 1000's. I love these hershey's milk chocolate drops coz they have no candy shells but pure chocolatey goodness! They came right out of the fridge when I made these smore's bars reason why  I think they didn't melt but they were delightfully soft! Ingredients:Graham CrackersMini MarshmallowsTeddy GrahamsHershey's milk chocolate drops100's & 1000's/non pareils sprinkles I purchased the hershey's milk chocolate drops at S&R and the rest at Landmark Supermarket (Trinoma)Layer first four ingredients and pop into the oven until marshmallows are puffy and melted. ( I just used a toaster oven.)100's & 1000's won't stick to the marshmallows so I brushed the marshmallows with sugar syrup (boil 1 part of water and  2 parts of sugar together until it thickens ) before sprinkling. You can also use honey, maple syrup or corn syrup.Best paired with strawberry milk!Chewy and crunchy at the same time!I also spotted this chocolate cookies at S&R but it's also available at Robinsons SupermarketI just thought of making them more cuter!I'm calling them huggy's school peanut butter lollies. lol!Fun snack for kids!Linking to: Color Connection[...]

Impromptu Indoor Camping

2014-01-11T15:30:21.593+08:00

It has been raining hard non stop and the monsoon rain have caused extensive flooding in various parts of Metro Manila. We are lucky it doesn't flood where we live no matter how hard  the rain pours. Our phone line died and I lost internet connection for 2 days, then my modem died too and needed to be replaced. I couldn't send text messages, no cable connection and couldn't watch TV.  I have collected a few movies to watch so we just had a movie marathon in my sisters bedroom the whole day. The road to the grocery stores were no longer passable due to heavy  flooding. We needed to buy some bread so we went to the nearest 7-11 store but they ran out of stock. We tried going to Mercury drug store but breads were nowhere to be found. People were panic buying! Even instant noodles were out of stock! We tried the nearest bakery but they also ran out of loaf bread but we were able to buy P50 worth of pandesal. We were not running out of food. We just needed to buy some bread for our dinner coz I was craving for spam sandwich. hehe! I usually stock up on snacks for the kids. I have 3 boxes full of snacks in my bedroom so nothing to worry in times like this. The kids won't get hungry coz my bedroom is like a sari sari store full of their favorite snacks! lol! I thought the rain would subside the next day but to no avail! We decided to have an impromptu indoor camping. The kids had a blast!     Under my (used to be) study table are plastic boxes full of snacks for the kids. They usually take them to school and some I put in their bento boxes.Bought this Hello Kitty tent last year when it was on sale. The kids love this!Hello Kitty biscuitsIced Gems Biscuits Vanilla and chocolate marshmallowsHot cocoa with marshmallowsRoasting marshmallows[...]

Grand Villa Resort and Butterfly Center, Laguna ( Part 2 )

2012-10-24T22:00:59.843+08:00

Included in the deal was the free Butterfly Garden tour and access to the newly opened Aviary. Since the deal was for 9 people only, I had to pay  P500 for 2 extra people. There was nothing much to see in the Aviary so I think P250 entrance/person wasn't worth the price. We were not able to explore the Adventure Camp because the kids still wanted to enjoy swimming before heading back home. There were some nice spots around the resort  for photo ops but to me it's the kind of resort  which I would only visit once and never come back again. I didn't like the service and some staffs were unfriendly. I don't have anything much to say so just please enjoy the photos! This butterfly was actually dead.( poor thing!) I just picked it up to snapped a  picture of my niece holding it. Wishing well[...]

Grand Villa Resort and Butterfly Center, Laguna ( Part 1)

2012-10-24T22:01:25.352+08:00

Two months ago we had an overnight stay at Grand Villa Resort and Butterfly Center. I was looking for an affordable swimming getaway for my nieces who really adore dipping in the pool and found this deal. A voucher cost P1,750 for 2D/1N accommodation for 3 persons, free breakfast (coffee, a small pancake and a piece of ham), use of resort facilities, Butterfly Garden tour and access to  the newly opened Aviary. Children below 12 years old are free of charge. There were 11 of us so I purchased 3 vouchers. We arrived at 11:00AM and we were too early for the 2:00PM check in time so we had to wait thinking our rooms were still occupied. It was 1:45 PM when I asked the staff at the front desk if we could get into our rooms already. The staff told me we had to wait for 15 minutes more. (They were really strict with time huh!) At exactly 2PM  they already allowed us to get into our rooms and we found out they weren't  previously occupied at all! There were more or less 14 rooms in that building and all were vacant and they had us waited for 3 hours! Geez! Such an unsatisfactory customer service!               I liked the surroundings, they were nice but I didn't like our room and the ambiance outside our room. We were the only occupants of that building. I was having a hard time sleeping. I thought I was the only one who felt this eerie feeling the whole night. I was hearing creepy noises! I didn't want to open my eyes thinking  a ghost will just suddenly appear in front of me. lol! I mentioned it to my sister the next morning and was surprised to know she felt the same way! Food was kinda expensive. They were charging P500+ for whole fried chicken! We had to go outside the resort for dinner and we were able to buy 2 roasted chicken for P450. I may not like this resort much but It was the bonding moments with my loved ones which mattered most and more importantly, the kids enjoyed swimming coz this trip was for them! With my  superkulit nieces     Are you familiar with the movie Bahay ni Lola? That was how we called this building. lol! It looks like an old school building. I think there were only 3 occupied rooms in this building that time. The room I shared with cousin Rome and my 2 niecesMake a wish!Sunken BarLinking to:[...]

Isdaan Floating Restaurant, Calauan Laguna

2012-07-18T22:07:24.459+08:00

Four months ago, we visited  Isdaan Restaurant in Tarlac  and we really had a wonderful time so we decided to check out the Laguna branch. It was Sunday and the restaurant was jam packed with people. We arrived at exactly lunch time so we had to wait  about 20 minutes in order for us to be seated. The bamboo cotttage that was provided to us was quite small for the 12 of us. Service was slow but the staffs kept apologizing. Most of our orders were not available so we just replaced them with the 3 same viands that we had last time at the other branch.  Not having most of our orders was  such a disappointment! With the flock of people coming to the restaurant they should have everything available or they should  update their menu.             When I first set foot in this restaurant ( Tarlac branch ), I was wondering why they added statues of Incredible Hulk, Batman, Iron man and the likes. They look out of place with all those giant buddha statues around the restaurant. But after seeing my nieces screaming in excitement when they saw the angry birds and their favorite Disney characters, it made me realize that Isdaan has no definite theme but it  was designed  to attract people of all ages specially the kids. There are lots of fun activities for the kids. They can go biking, enjoy the plastic play structures such as slides, swing sets and see saws, have their faces painted, watch magic shows and acrobatic shows, go boating etc. We thouroughly enjoyed the surroundings and I loved the overall design concept of the restaurant compared to the Tarlac branch but the place seemed to be congested, or maybe we came at the wrong time. Food Verdict: Some were good, some were ok, some so so but I recommend marinated grilled spareribs and kinalabasang hipon! I loved the fruit juices! We shouldn't have ordered the mango and melon sago. They were just like the fruit juices with sago pearls and we ordered 7 glasses! uggh! The Tarlac version was more icy! There is no free drinking water! You have to buy bottled water!  another uggh! Isdaan Tarlac offers free drinking water! hmmmp! Anyway, despite my negative comments, you may still want to pay Isdaan Laguna a visit after you see these pictures (specially the photo enthusiasts!) heehee!Mermaid Buddhas at the parking lotGiant white gorilla statue with the Angry birdsKutuhan sa sulokThe eggs just hatched!
