Until Americans "discovered" sushi in the late '70s, and as it grew in popularity over the next two decades, sushi chefs required a minimum of 10 years of training, the first few devoted simply to the art of sharpening the knives and maybe selecting the fish.

Even New York City would be embarrassed by how cranky the New York Deli News has become.

This has long been one of Denver's most popular Jewish delis. Not quite the Carnegie, the NYDN nonetheless delivered on tender brisket, a good bagel, a nice piece of smoked salmon.

Some restaurant reviews just seem to write themselves. The place is either so good or so bad it needs little help from me to tell the story, and my opinion is easily formed based on the experiences. But after two meals at The Capital Grille, I still can't decide how to feel about it.
