Following a long period of inactivity, MiniBits is now starting to move forward again, using the C# language.
The original VB code was becoming too bloated with over 100 forms and 40 modules. By moving to C# it is aimed to drastically reduce the number of forms while at the same time rapidly increasing functionality.
This will be based around a small number of forms implementing simple operations such as the addition, removal, alteration and display of data records. Advanced operations such as adding transactions will be performed by derived forms.
Data on form layouts will be held in the database in a new table, tblForm, from which the form will be created at runtime.
Currently the functionality to add simple records has been created, and some basic data structures are in place. Further functionality is to be included over the coming weeks.
The VB source code will still be available on SourceForge, in a separate module to the new C# source code. Should any developer wish to continue to maintain and build on the VB code, feel free to notify Rob (rmhw_uk).

The project has been inactive for the last few months, which is a pity considering the amount of work that has gone into it to date.
Now that I have a lot more time I'm looking at getting things going again. It will take me a few weeks to kick-start things, but watch this space!!!
