First public Release of NotesAntiSpam

Mon, 28 Jul 2003 16:14:03 -0000

Hello,

The first public Release of NotesAntiSpam an AntiSpam-Tool for Lotus-Notes Users is uploaded.

It uses DNS Blacklists to move potential Spam-mails into a folder for further deletion and/or investigation (really?).

The mechanism are comparable to SpamPal or SpamAssassin except that it uses the Notes-API to access the Notes Mailbox of the user and scanns the mail in regular time-schedules.

There are no changes to the Template or the Notes-Server necessary.

In my personal Mailbox it finds round about 80-90% of the Spam.

For the future I plan to enhance using additional technologies to find the rest 20%.
For the false positives (I had 4 Mails out of over 300) I plan to have whitelists.

Regards,
Thomas Kriener
