PyGE 0.6.1.2 is a maintenance release which corrects a bug in the script which aids creating help files, and provides corrected help files for the Windows source distribution. Anyone who downloaded the Windows source distribution version 0.6.1.1 should upgrade to version 0.6.1.2.

This project aims to provide free cross-platform desktop applications that can help in making the extensive and growing collection of classical literary works from Project Gutenberg more accessible to the typical computer user.

Designed with simple, easy-to-use graphical interfaces, PyGE applications include PyGETS, a program for searching and downloading available e-texts; PyGEMZ, a program for converting e-texts to a format suitable for both desktop and Palm PDA usage; and PyGERS, a program for comfortably viewing e-texts which includes basic text-to-speech capabilities.

PyGE 0.6.1.1 is a maintenance release which corrects a possible dependency problem with the 0.6.1 user-mode Linux binary distribution on systems where KDE is not installed. It also provides additional binary distribution package choices for system-level installation of PyGE software on Linux systems.
