Re: All in one case for projector, player and mixer

Easiest solution I've created is to use a 6U shallow rack case and put the following inside:

Power Conditioner (1U)
Rolls MiniMixer / Sony Blu-ray / HDMI Audio Extractor (all on 1U rack tray attached with 3M DualLock)
1U Black Space (to allow airflow f...

All in one case for projector, player and mixer

Wed, 19 Apr 2017 14:45:49 GMT

I am seeking advice, build plans and feedback as I am looking to build a case that would enclose the projector, player and mixer.

Re: low cost long throw

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 05:46:03 GMT

Well, I did get over to the Night-Sky over the weekend, just not after dark so I didn't get to play experiment at all.  What I did get to do is rake leaves and winter debris up, cut tree branches hanging on the fence and the screen, and patch together ...

low cost long throw

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 23:02:11 GMT

Ok so I've once again found myself in a new / old situation.  So the Sit & Vue will not be coming back this year.  Jake has decided to stay in SC, so he is selling his house here.  This coming weekend was the weekend that I had hoped we would be openin...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 12:19:38 GMT

I am still looking and I'll have to take a look and see if they can help.   It'll be a busy year for us (oldest graduating, overseas trip, stateside trips) so my priorities have been shifting it seems every hour.  Hopefully either this weekend or next ...

New Outdoor Speakers

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 20:30:28 GMT

When I built my house I ran some speaker wire so I could have some speakers on my back patio.  I am really happy with my Definitive Technology AW6500's that I have mounted on the house, but I was looking for something that I can put a little further aw...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

I don't know if your still looking but I was in Lowes hardware the other day and noticed they had manual winches for about $30.00, no dual drums though, but they might be a source for something not to costly.  If you can find someone knowledgeable ther...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

I looked at Harbor Freights online store but didn't find anything that piqued my interest. I did see they had a store in the local area.  Still not coming up with what I have in my head and the last time I was in one of the Marina stores the stuff they...

Re: When you lose a hobby Friend on one of these sites

Wed, 05 Apr 2017 18:09:38 GMT

My heart goes out to their family, and I do agree, though I have met exactly zero of the  folks on this forum in person I feel the same way, like we are brothers and sisters of BYT.  I'm not trying to start a war this comment but that is why it depress...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

Wed, 05 Apr 2017 18:01:02 GMT

I had a thought of buying a second one of the exact same model putting them side by side, then having one long bolt between them so that the crank would wind both drums.   I figu...

When you lose a hobby Friend on one of these sites

Tue, 04 Apr 2017 22:52:52 GMT

Just got some sad news about a fellow BBQ guy that I have known on two sites. He passed a few weeks ago & we just got the word today.

You know you hear the stories about the things he did for his kids, The love of his wife & all the BBQ's he has done ...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

Tue, 04 Apr 2017 11:52:42 GMT

I had a thought of buying a second one of the exact same model putting them side by side, then having one long bolt between them so that the crank would wind both drums.   I figured adding some sort of motor on it later wouldn't be too difficult.   And...

Re: Electric dual drum pulling winch

I cannot remember the last time I bought a winch, if you have Harbor Freight tools in your area I would look there first.   Could you modify your current winch to have two drums?

Re: Specs for garage based projector with medium ambient light?

Thu, 30 Mar 2017 13:07:24 GMT

great info, thank you so much. Good callout on the zoom. I think I have been a little spoiled with the zoom/manual lens shift on the panasonic ax100. Neither my porch or garage mounts are perfectly squared up but I've always gotten away with adjusting ...

Re: Plex Media Server

Thu, 30 Mar 2017 12:06:16 GMT

The more I use it the more I love it.  It's going to help change the way I do my BYT and other things.  I have the app on my phone and love that I have access to all of my media on the go.  I canceled SirusXM in my car because between the 64GB USB stic...

Re: Plex Media Server

Thu, 30 Mar 2017 06:59:16 GMT

Thanks for mentioning it.  I also have Plex and have been pretty happy with it, the Fire and Roku both have apps for Plex, so that is nice that you can wirelessly access your library.  I don't have a way to copy content any higher than DVD quality, so ...

Re: Specs for garage based projector with medium ambient light?

Thu, 30 Mar 2017 04:42:19 GMT

11V has given you a lot of good advice, but I will add that neither projector is wrong or right, however I will mention that on most projectors running them in non-native aspect ratio doesn't do your light output any favors.  With that said up until th...
