Re: Backyard Theater Showcase

Sun, 26 Feb 2017 18:07:24 GMT

Bradly filled out the questionnaire about his Lost Ark Theater.  I am pretty excited about this Theater because of the creative way that he set up his floating screen.  3 Theaters showcased so far, I hope we can keep the momentum going! If you want to ...

Thanks, I will go with Carl's. Saw some good prices on his website. Thanks again.

Re: Blackout Material

I bought blackout cloth from a fabric store here in Nashville and it looks just as good as Carl's fabric. However,  I imagine that the quality can vary depending on the store. For screen use, I'd buy Carl's just to be safe.

I've built a couple screens for people using "store bought" BOC. I have to say that as far as picture quality, I think Carl's out performs them. His material is heavier, so it should hold up better as well. A screen I built a couple of years ago using ...

Blackout Material

Quick question. Is there a difference between Carl's blackout cloth, and blackout cloth you can buy at fabric stores? Was gonna hang my pull down screen in house but worried about weight, so decided to build a light weight screen.

Steve,

My system came with two threaded adapters the fit on top of standard American microphone stands that allow the satellite speakers to mount to them.

Hi Jim,

I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. Out of curiosity is there a universal thread pattern on the microphone stands that enables you to screw the speakers onto them? As I said earlier I wasn't happy with the quality of the stands I have a...

Steve,

Looks like fun.  Thanks for the photo.  I just added a couple of fold up microphone stands and some 25 foot cables.  My plan is to place the main unit at the bottom center of the screen with the satellite speakers on each side.  I will take a ph...

Cody, as promised I will do one for the Sit & Vue and for the Night-SKy.  I've been working on getting the form done for the Sit & Vue but I have been rather wordy and busy so I will get them to you I have not forgotten I'm just slow.

Backyard Theater Showcase

Sun, 12 Feb 2017 18:11:30 GMT

I recently conducted an interest survey and the one thing that people wanted more of was to see examples of other people's backyard theaters, which has tapered off on this site.  Realizing that there are folks out there lurking who cannot get access to...
