Party for Doug Rauschenberger

As most of you know, Doug Rauschenberger is retiring as Director of the Haddonfield Public Library in January 2007. Haddonfield is honoring Doug with a reception and dinner at Tavistock Country Club on Sunday, January 28. You're all invited. For more information and to print an invitation, see .

A 25-year Director of the Haddonfield Public Library, Doug has served on the Haddonfield Planning Board, been active in the Haddonfield Rotary Club and the Historical Society of Haddonfield, and is the co-author of Lost Haddonfield.

During SJRLC's 20 year history, Doug has served as President, Treasurer, multiple-term Board member, and Chair of Nominating and Personnel committees. SJRLC was honored to present their 20th Anniversary Award to Doug at the Cooperative's Anniversary Banquet on June 6.

Congratulations to Doug and I'll see you at the party.

Cast a ballot for the New Jersey Hall of Fame

Who should be the first class inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame? Will it be Einstein or Springsteen; Forbes or Morrison? State Librarian Norma Blake was selected along with New Jersey's most prominent individuals and organizations to select the nominees in each of the five Hall of Fame categories. You are invited to cast your ballot for your choice to be inducted. It's fun and easy to vote, and three people will be randomly selected to win the New Jersey Fantasy Package prizes. The deadline is February 28, 2007.

• Congratulations to Jennifer Druce on her new job as Director of the Millville Public Library.

• Farewell, and best wishes to Claudia Sumler, Director of the Camden County Library System. Claudia has accepted a position with the Harford County (Md) Library.

Congratulations to the Free Public Library of Audubon

Congratulations to the Free Public Library of Audubon which has been awarded the 18th Annual New Jersey Council for Humanities Book Award Collection.

Audubon was one of five libraries chosen to receive the collection this year. Mr. Jacque Harlow, book committee member and former board member, presented the collection to the library board, staff, and community on November 2, 2006.

The pages have RSS feed and will offer reporters and the public to ability to find out about activities occurring at our NJ libraries in one location.
