Mon, 24 Oct 2016 14:13:55 -0500With change in time, almost everything the world used to be is no more. Change was once an advantage, but when much of it contributes in more negative ways than good, then perhaps it is okay to say the good old ways had their own merits. Many things have changed, and marriage is not to leave to chance. Family is no longer what it used to be - united, established. Today, we live in a society where what your right hand does must remain hidden from your left hand. Married men and women don't have a shared responsibility/interest anymore. The man usually has his own agenda, as the woman tries hard to keep the family together; and my trajectory here is not to suggest all men are bad, because some care deeply about the well-being of their wives and children. Yet still, the vast majority of women and children are more vulnerable to unpleasant situations than men are. In the past times, women were treated much like house maids, but men of a long time ago did fit the criteria that of the head of a household brand...

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 09:13:18 -0500Raising children has never been easy. Our modern world has made many things easier than they used to be. It has not done this for parenting; in fact, in many ways it has complicated the tasks. It is still the goal of parenting to produce adult children who are responsible for themselves and possess good character. Don't expect the school to do this. And certainly, don't expect "the village" to do this. This is the job of parents. Though parents have a powerful place in this process, each child has power, too - the power of their will. They must choose to do difficult things, to embrace the things that contribute to maturity.

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 15:35:38 -0500It takes a village to raise diversified and informed children. Raising a child alone can be done, though fun and socialization would be missing. That is just the beginning of what a child offers to his family and society.Families are much the same as they have been for many generations. Children are raised and learn by the influence of the people and attitude that is pervasive in their environment.
