Sun, 15 Jan 2017 10:29:40 -0600Life is an enigma in the contrasts. Just a few of life's ironies, here.
Thu, 12 Jan 2017 14:44:25 -0600Dear You, Today I just had a nice thought I would like to share with you. Do you remember hearing this sentence "Heaven on Earth are both Here on Earth"?
Wed, 11 Jan 2017 14:04:02 -0600The Upanishads are a collection of texts of religious and philosophical nature, written in India probably between c. 800 BCE and c. 500 BCE, during a time when Indian society started to question the traditional Vedic religious order. Some people during this time decided to engage in the pursuit of spiritual progress, living as ascetic hermits, rejecting ordinary material concerns and giving up family life.
Wed, 11 Jan 2017 07:31:44 -0600The search for meaning takes most our lives to discover. In the end we arrive back in the beginning. We stop searching and start living.
Sun, 25 Dec 2016 17:16:13 -0600Life gives us nothing but birth, sometimes not even that. But, continued successful existence from that point of birth is our responsibility.
Wed, 21 Dec 2016 11:21:47 -0600The nature of nature itself is balance, and so everything will come a full circle like it or not. Perhaps it isn't your fault, perhaps this is all just a charade to make you look bad. But here's the catch, once you cross that boundary, once you fall into that bottomless well, there's no going back.
Tue, 20 Dec 2016 06:59:33 -0600I once said myself that energy changes, but it never dies. Well, in reality there are not any exceptions, not even consciousness really dies. Consciousness may change, but it never really dies.
Mon, 19 Dec 2016 07:04:52 -0600We know that those put into solitary confinement in prison often lose their minds over time having no one to socialize with. That's unfortunate indeed, and it surely has something to do with the human psyche and our socialization with our fellow man. Not long ago, I had a conversation with an intellectual about the concept of an afterlife and how that might be possible where the consciousness continues. He pondered that if there was not a heaven where people go to be together, and there was only a continuation of the mind in the ether then would one be all alone for eternity, and if so, how could the mind cope with that? Good question.
Thu, 15 Dec 2016 06:59:06 -0600Many would say that Ayn Rand's philosophy is amiss and then point to Plato for their philosophical wisdom. Not long ago, I had such a conversation with a very well-educated fellow and think tanker type. He condemned Ayn Rand and took out of context an event in one of her stories that she was in favor or secret societies. Still, the thought that Ayn Rand would applaud 'secret societies' is a misread of her views. Remember Ayn Rand was very much against the elitists and socialists. I don't need to defend her, I don't really care, her legacy speaks for itself, but since you asked.
Wed, 14 Dec 2016 07:04:51 -0600Many have been told that Ayn Rand's objectivism is a flawed way to think. I actually disagree with such criticism, in fact, I find those who make such allegations first, off don't understand her philosophy very, have been brainwashed by socialist forces in education, and can't argue their points well enough to be taken seriously. So if you are in any of those categories, this article is for you.
Mon, 12 Dec 2016 06:58:51 -0600The Chinese believe that "if you are my friend, you will share information and knowledge with me." And, perhaps this is why they don't feel so bad about stealing intellectual property, after all the US says China is a favored trading partner and friend. Think of it this way, would unnecessarily keep a secret from your spouse, unless maybe it was a security clearance duty to do so? Friends don't keep secrets from friends unless that information could hurt them. Let's talk shall we?
Sun, 11 Dec 2016 16:58:38 -0600We, as consciousness, are as happy and fulfilled as we make up our minds to be. With that said, I lifted the title of this article from a book I once read a few times by George Ivanovich Gurdjieff called "Life Is Real, Only Then, When "I Am"".
Tue, 06 Dec 2016 06:54:34 -0600This article is based on a concept I understand and have about life and existence. When situations get stagnant and do not work: Change, reformation and new thinking is forced upon you as a necessary function or death happens to you in some form if this change, reformation and new thinking is not accepted. Sure it all sounds like an extreme situation, but, is it not an extreme situation when change is needed?
Sat, 19 Nov 2016 18:24:11 -0600I call this article reality and fantasy, with a genuine emphasis on reality because "what is" is genuinely relative unless you are perceiving honesty as it is in genuine objective reality, and "truth" is what we create from opinions and incomplete facts anyhow. I got inspired to write this article also by "the Bible of Nature" and not by all the man-made bibles written as "truths perceived". So, get your thinking caps on and do not just read, but understand.
Sat, 05 Nov 2016 19:00:26 -0500Life is as good or great as we make it. With that said, what we do with our time and our space is purely our business with the universe. Despite what religion and scientific "reality" may imply.
Sun, 23 Oct 2016 09:56:19 -0500Soft, soothing, simple melodies that's what brings about peace and a tranquil atmosphere. Ever wonder what it is about humanity that responds so well to songs, words that rhyme and the serene sound of bubbling brooks? Well, I most certainly do. And without further ado, I will share my perspective with you... I humbly, or perhaps dumbly believe that with so much advancement in technology, we actually consider it a treat to listen to the soft, untamed sounds of nature. Or something that emulates what we seek in a natural setting. How can our lives be a little bit more simplified in the blink of any eye? If we just try to get back in touch with our inner child that craves to have a heyday and play in nature, the elements we can simply our lives in the blink of an eye.
Wed, 12 Oct 2016 15:21:30 -0500The last thing Jacques wanted was to get involved in a relationship. When it came to romance, "I've been burned more often than a fireman," he said, grinning. With a head of thick curls and neatly-trimmed beard, Jacques was ruggedly handsome, and it was easy to see why women were attracted to him. But Jacques was adamant - he didn't want to fall in love! Unfortunately, he was about to learn a lesson: Nobody gives orders to the Universe, especially when the Universe has plans for you.

Thu, 06 Oct 2016 07:07:51 -0500Why isn't anyone talking about the lock-down that Harvard and Yale Graduates have on OUR government? Think about it - past, current and future presidents, elite multi-term members of the House and Senate, major department heads and even our supreme court. Check out their resumes sometime? Is this what our founding fathers had in mind - certainly not! How often have we been forced to choose between presidential candidates or Supreme Court Justices when the choices are all from the same schools? That is too much concentrated power, the revolving door is also a problem - Wall Street Firms and the CEOs of the largest corporations - controlling, well, controlling everything.
Tue, 04 Oct 2016 10:14:41 -0500Cable news broadcasts non-stop. While the constant political gyrations may depress, or entertain, but in the end inform, the reporting on the deep tragedies - on hunger, war, crime, devastation, natural disasters - touches and saddens us. But then comes a commercial, for maybe softer pillows. The incongruity, the suffering and death of real tragedies, followed by the cheering spokesperson for better pillows, likely assaults our mind. How do we deal with this absurdity? What response can we realistically have to the catastrophes the befall our fellow humans. Take a few minutes, consider some actions suggested in the article, and take measure of what you, and I, can and ought do.
Sun, 02 Oct 2016 11:56:28 -0500It may seem fun to drift joyfully through life "without a care in the world" and having nothing to do to earn anything, but there is not any real joy in that kind of existence, just resigned contentment that you will have it easy without having to "go up" or "grow up". Stopping the drifting, however hard or easy it may seem to do so is the start of going up and growing up wherever you are.
Mon, 26 Sep 2016 08:33:41 -0500Will the giver take a no or negative reply as discrimination, racism, hate or disgust? Will the recipient take the question as bothersome, snarkyness, intrusive or of no interest? Will they both take the encounter as socially acceptable, a new friendship and joyous? Will the masks of both be on or off so either becomes aware or not aware of the others true self? A sentence from one stranger to another can bring about a social feeling but what social feeling will be felt?
Wed, 21 Sep 2016 08:03:08 -0500The stool is the central symbol of Akan politics among the Akans in the southern part of Ghana. It is the repository of all ancient traditions and the spirits of the ancestors. It is believed to symbolize the soul of the society. It serves as a symbolic link between the common people in the society and their leader who may be a king or chief. The Golden stool is said to contain the spirit of the Asante nation. It is used as a symbol of the unification of many Akan people under the Asante kingdom. The parts or components of the stool represent the elements that make up a perfect society. The female stool which is believed to be the first stool designed and produced in the Ghanaian society is the best example of a stool that makes up a perfect society. Therefore, our discussion will delve into the philosophical meanings behind each of the components or design parts of the female stool.

Don't be dalik in your efforts or endeavors; an English term for dense, just in case you desired a description for such an unusual word. I have a lot of English and Australian influences in my life, especially when relaxing with my spouse as we enjoy adventure and uncommon things to entertain our mind;captivate the imagination, especially learning more about space exploration and planetary changes. * Good deeds breed blessings for you and me!
Sun, 04 Sep 2016 09:44:42 -0500Do you sometimes look back on the life that you have lived? It is good to see where you have been and what you have done in order to be able to make an adjustment to your life yet to be lived. If you are a philosopher, you adjust your life for the benefit of all people.
Thu, 01 Sep 2016 15:33:58 -0500When I think about life, I do not think about the truth. The truth is what normal people think about to their own detriment. Honesty and reality are where it is at. If honesty and reality were not where it were at, then we would all have great instead of just boring, unsatisfying lives filled with the truth.
Mon, 29 Aug 2016 06:54:56 -0500Recently, I was faced with a dilemma. A reality that I would have to work and wait to get what I really want instead of "cash out" in the present for less. Well, I decided to work and wait, and "recently" is a time I could consider about twenty years ago.
Wed, 24 Aug 2016 12:50:43 -0500God and evil. The issue vexes and bedevils us. Why would a benevolent, powerful God permit so much horrendous pain and malevolence? In a conversation, a believing Scholar lays out for a skeptical Sage a response. Our universe and our existence offer significant value, offers the Scholar, and we benefit from a comprehendable world and are blessed with a will free to follow our own course. And, continues the Scholar, in a real actuality, even an omnipotent God faces logical and physical constraints. The Sage ponders but in the end judges that God could have created better. The reader can decide their own view.
Tue, 16 Aug 2016 15:13:33 -0500Criminals want the unearned, the virtuous genuinely want the earned. Without fear or ego properties, I say this: Reality always goes to the virtuous mind, however "easy" and "fun" at times life with the criminal mind may initially look or the person who honestly pays gets to play without fear of "skeletons in the closet" so to write.
Mon, 08 Aug 2016 06:36:26 -0500We cannot expect happiness in the way we accept normally. Realistic happiness can be equated with effectiveness in life. Indeed, we cannot live beyond our genuine capacity and "play God".
Thu, 21 Jul 2016 06:58:12 -0500EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD AS BODY IN MOTION - Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) argued systematically for materialism as a solution to the mind-body problem. Hobbes argued that everything in the world, including our thoughts and the states of our minds, can in principle be explained in terms of one thing and one thing only: matter in motion. Thoughts, for example, can be explained, he argued, as matter in motion in the brain.
Wed, 20 Jul 2016 11:35:59 -0500My experience as I decided to explore the city on Christmas. It unfolded to a chain of realisation. An indelible moment that changed me forever.
Tue, 19 Jul 2016 12:42:38 -0500How do we view the beings around us, our fellow inhabitants of Earth? Are they more conscious about the world than we are used to think?
Fri, 08 Jul 2016 11:51:26 -0500An Epiphany of sorts happens in the strangest of places. A woman is given the answer to a question kept hidden for 26 years while aboard an wedding anniversary cruise! Go figure.
Tue, 05 Jul 2016 06:24:30 -0500My interpretation of Plato saying is that "Normal humanity cannot be trusted to do the right thing." My interpretation of Aristotle saying is that "Greater humanity can be trusted to seek the highest cause for itself which is happiness." Which is true? Which is honest? Which is real? Even I grapple with these questions at times, especially when something tragic or miserable happens. But, I get this genuine answer that is realistic for me: Everyone wants the right thing to happen, but everyone wants personal happiness and peace also with that right thing.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 08:14:53 -0500If you have any uncertainties, especially concerning the activities of the U.S. government and its various agencies, you have a reservoir of resources that you can pull from in the form of conspiracy theorists.
Thu, 23 Jun 2016 15:19:11 -0500In everyday life, we come across many peculiar situations that remain incomprehensible forever. Here, a list of such puzzles is presented to understand the reality or illusion of life itself.
Fri, 17 Jun 2016 06:18:25 -0500It is always good to take a moment to go inside and think deeply before taking an action. My Mother always says to think deeply twice and take action once sort of jokingly. But, the most powerful idea there is could be to take action after deep thought, though.
Tue, 24 May 2016 05:56:08 -0500Sure, the definite major purpose of life is to achieve what is needed and wanted in it, most definitely. Realistically though, we chase shadows of what we think is what we want before we get what we really want. This article is about being definite and realistic about what we need and want, whatever the situation, because goal achievement, not goal setting comes down to being definite.
Mon, 23 May 2016 08:58:27 -0500All efforts would go in vain when the fate is against us. Here, the real life of a person is depicted to understand how powerful is the fate.
Tue, 17 May 2016 05:54:00 -0500You must give to get. Without that giving, there is not any benefit in any way. I know this is a very basic message as this is a very basic and realistic article.
Fri, 13 May 2016 16:01:40 -0500Metaphysics and humanism are connected. They have basic fundamental principles that bind them together.
Wed, 11 May 2016 06:59:41 -0500The concept of angels (or messengers) regards the flow of communication that are sent and received between players and related (although distant) areas within the entire system of game universes. What is most important about the idea of angels is the fact that they transmit messages or information about a player, an area within a field of play (reports), or an entire game universe in a state of play (status updates).
Wed, 11 May 2016 06:57:17 -0500The game of earth is a teaching reality and each player is a living game piece in a world defined by the universal intelligence network, which is the spiritual infrastructure underlying the physical universe. Man is the central game piece that the soul as player operates in the form of matter and energy through space and change. Man as a unique intersection of soul and animal must unite these two elements to shape a personality prepared for a totally immersive role-playing experience. In the game of earth, the mental, emotional and physical components of the experience drown the player in a foreign type of play.
Wed, 11 May 2016 06:52:14 -0500Belief systems are maps or descriptive pronouncements concerning various paths through life. All of them emphasize some aspect of existence and magnify it throughout the whole. But each is only a piece of the puzzle and they individually represent one approach to soul development. All of them provide some portion of knowledge about soul progression on earth and offer players a sense of direction.
Mon, 09 May 2016 07:51:40 -0500Game physics refers to the laws governing the programming of a game within a self-contained universe. It is these laws that govern how the players within the worlds of that universe experience the objects and the objects behavior of that universe. Game physics dictates the actions and reactions of the objects in its own world such as how objects of different densities interact. For example, what happens to objects when they are unsupported, do they float or fall? Game physics determines qualities in the field of play such as what constitutes friction, velocity, texture, collision effects, and atmospheric changes.
Mon, 09 May 2016 06:17:30 -0500Life is as good or great as we make it. What thoughts does that sentence bring to mind?
Mon, 09 May 2016 06:14:54 -0500Perhaps you've heard the wise advice; "don't assume anything" or the "assume nothing" version? Well, let me tell you the latter is far wiser. You see, you can take the phrase "assume nothing" both figuratively and literally and it turns out to be both great advice and scientifically correct. Let me explain this in laymen's terms.
Thu, 28 Apr 2016 06:09:18 -0500What do we all want out of life, even if we lie, cheat and steal? I can somehow answer that. In the end, we are all looking for an honest benefit, even if we do have a funny way about going and getting it.
Mon, 18 Apr 2016 06:09:39 -0500I do not care who you are, those who genuinely succeed fully, fail temporarily a few times and understand where they have failed and try again and then succeed. If that sentence is a confusing one to you, it will not be confusing by the end of this article. Because I am going to spell everything out and give you a glimpse of a sense of life that never fails.
Thu, 07 Apr 2016 11:48:28 -0500Last month, the renowned Scottish actor lost his father and role model, The Very Reverend Sandy McDonald, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. As Tennant mourns his father's passing, we reflect on their relationship as father and son.
Mon, 04 Apr 2016 12:58:26 -0500'If anyone had asked me what existence was, I would have answered, in good faith, that it was nothing, simply an empty form which was added to external things without changing anything in their nature' - Jean Paul Sartre. Have you ever pronounced your name?... and then pronounced it again, and again! And for so many times that you lost control of it and realized that it was no more connected to your material existence!... and the thought of losing yourself completely made you very cold, down to your heart that it started thumping so hard as to show that you somehow did exist!! That fear of 'not being' is one of the most inevitable fears of mankind and such a realization may be termed as existential crisis.
Tue, 29 Mar 2016 11:30:13 -0500What is time? Perhaps it is better asked, what is consciousness?
Tue, 29 Mar 2016 06:20:44 -0500Recently, I have been thinking about the past in a depressed way. Oh, I was that way a short time of course, but still, I realized that the present needs special attention. Thus, the title: "Attention! Forward March". In life, the future and the past should be kept free of worry, but the present should fully be lived in when it is happening.
Tue, 22 Mar 2016 09:48:24 -0500Re-discovering the genius of our predecessors can greatly optimize our present. If there ever was a time for clear thinking and prudent action, it is now. The viability of our society depends on it!
Tue, 22 Mar 2016 06:18:24 -0500American government appointed medical epidemiologists have the responsibility to protect the health and wellbeing of community development. They have identified the existence of a global 3D virus-like epidemic transmitted by the mass manufacture of information and communication devices, for which they have no antidote. By reexamining ancient Greek science several relevant mistakes have taken place that appear to contain information relevant to the workings of the antidote. This highly sensitive observation requires modern mechanistic science to synergize with the living neurological science presented to the world in Professor Guy Deutscher's 2012 book of the year titled, Through the Language Glass. Australian cancer researchers have published discoveries that appear to dovetail into Deutscher's upgrading of 19th Century linguistic color perception theory. Eminent Italian scientists and artists in 2016 have fused the Australian initiative into their own quantum art 21st Century Renaissance project and are taking the new knowledge to the world in the form of art exhibitions in prestigious galleries in Rome and Moscow.
Mon, 21 Mar 2016 06:05:40 -0500If you have ever read Jung, Freud, any writings from the French Nancy school of Hypnosis or The Christian Bible and original Talmud deeply, you can ascertain this: Even though it can seem like a hard job, life can be controlled through repetition and smart work that is consistent. To become a winner, get beyond beginner.
Mon, 21 Mar 2016 06:03:14 -0500As a Science Fiction Writer, I often put forth scenarios, "What Ifs" in order to come up with a decent storyline. So, here are some thoughts a Sci Fi Writer might go with when using the genre of an Alien Race taking over our planet. Such hypotheticals are interesting thought experiments. Okay so, let's begin with a few intellectual points of contention along these lines, shall we?
Tue, 15 Mar 2016 15:29:30 -0500What is the immense value of 'Intention' and how can it shape our lives? We are participating in the world's most incredible answer to that question.
Thu, 10 Mar 2016 12:40:48 -0600Before I begin this article, I lifted this title off of a very bad Marlon Brando movie where he played Marc Anthony, the Roman statesman burying Caesar, not praising Caesar. There is a point to this. Some of the best and most memorable philosophical communications seem like the worst when they are heard, and are memorable long after they are heard or read.
Tue, 23 Feb 2016 09:50:08 -0600Science has lead to an increasing understanding of the world around us, and enormous improvements in our technology and living standards. But can science alone provide answers to our curiosity and questions? Or do we need other methods of discovery and exploration? Here in this article we explore methods of exploration, and whether and how they might augment science as humans seeks knowledge.
Tue, 23 Feb 2016 06:09:54 -0600How patient and understanding can you be in the face of the worst? Sometimes, I wonder for myself. Sometimes I do not wonder for myself. But, either way, I find myself genuinely taking the action of full patience in really bad situations and really good situations.
Mon, 22 Feb 2016 07:57:17 -0600There are two established schools of thought about the age of the universe. The scientific view is that the universe expanded from a single point with a 'big bang' that occurred about 14 billion years ago. The alternative view is that advanced by fundamentalist Christians who claim that there was a process of creation as described in the Hebrew scriptures and dated about 4000 BC, making the earth about 6000 years old. With such a great divergence of opinion, it seems unlikely that any reconciliation could be possible but the issue might revolve around the definition of existence. What is known about the universe is entirely the product of human consciousness, and this has awakened only in the past few thousand years. Can anything be said to exist if no conscious being is aware of it?
Mon, 15 Feb 2016 08:54:37 -0600Convenientializm is a post post modern, post post structural Philsophy. Convenientializm in a nut shell means: anything is everything and everything as a semantic democracy and can mean all things or a nothing. I have developed some isms for convenientializm.
Mon, 15 Feb 2016 06:33:52 -0600Are you a robot? Or, are you aware of your surroundings? We humans have the ability to change our minds, our routine, and we can change the setting in which we live or leave it altogether for a new setting. Change energizes the soul.
Thu, 11 Feb 2016 06:04:20 -0600Recent discoveries have turned mainstream science upside down, revealing a solution to Stephen Hawking's warning about a lethal inheritance from the invention of artificial intelligence that he considered to be unsolvable. The discovery that inner stereoscopic vision is an infinite fractal expression contradicts the structure of mechanical science that Hawking appears to be locked into. The electromagnetic functioning of ethical evolution as defined by the philosopher, Immanuel Kant, orientates itself toward actual infinity, providing first principle logic beyond the ability of mainstream science to comprehend. Kant's research involved defining the difference between aesthetics and ethics and its evolutionary potential can now be scientifically measured, in order to outline rigorous technological research that can resolve Hawking's issue of concern. By synergising mainstream science with the logic of the upside down science new human survival technology can logically come into existence.
Wed, 10 Feb 2016 07:49:11 -0600Personally experiencing a full up-front version of virtual reality with you immersed inside as the star player, is the 'in-thing' in modern digital technology right now. Of course you already experience virtual reality 24/7/52. Anything and everything you experience is courtesy of your sensory apparatus, your memories, and your overall state of being as a conscious, self-aware being. If all reality is experienced solely within your mind then you already exist in a virtual reality 'world'. That could also literally be the case. Welcome to the world of virtual reality.
Mon, 01 Feb 2016 08:16:03 -0600If we define ethics as how we behave such as honesty, integrity, how we treat other living and non-living beings, where should they come from? Is it up to us to decide or based on how the world around us causes us to react based on our perception of the situation? And what if our gifts mark the edge of our ethics?
Mon, 25 Jan 2016 06:12:42 -0600Sigmund Freud was right about a lot of things in normal human psychology, he was mostly wrong. But, the thing is, we focus too much on what he was wrong about, and not so much what he was right about.
Thu, 21 Jan 2016 14:11:41 -0600My mind starts here: I balance the rational and the magical, not so much the mystical. To try to work with irrational mysticism without rational proof is dead wrong. But as Arthur Charles Clarke said so many years ago, magic and technology are indistinguishable at the highest levels and most realistic levels.
Thu, 21 Jan 2016 08:50:06 -0600Everything in the present world revolves around awareness, safety and precautions. Before entering into any deal or agreement, we do the due diligence like ascertaining others' experiences... read on.
Tue, 19 Jan 2016 15:44:08 -0600Metaphysics is one such branch of philosophy. There are many metaphysical practices that can help you live a fulfilling, enriching life.
Mon, 18 Jan 2016 06:00:16 -0600Life may not be perfect ever, but knowing what is real will set anyone genuinely free. Let me explain: You or me are not what we do, we are what we make ourselves. Even Alexander Graham Bell patent clerk who took credit for the telephone could easily admit this. Sure, I believe in God, but God leaves it up to us to do the genuinely right thing or go in the wrong direction.
Thu, 14 Jan 2016 11:08:48 -0600Philosophy and life are interrelated. So philosophy has a great influence in life. Philosophy is the criticism of life. It is the excellent solution of the problems of human life. Human beings are rational beings. So a man would like to lead his life following intellectual concepts.
Mon, 11 Jan 2016 08:48:39 -0600So many people have experienced that Void; that sense of emptiness and/or a lack of purpose or meaning in their respective lives. This Void comes from a World of complexity. The more complex we perceive the World to be, the more we feel we lack purpose within it. So when the Void appears, it is likely due to a lack of understanding of how the complex system works. And that, of course, is by design. You cannot figure out where you belong in a system which you didn't create.
Mon, 11 Jan 2016 06:00:52 -0600It is one thing to think, but everything comes down to what you or anyone, including myself, actually does. Deeds speak louder than words.
Mon, 04 Jan 2016 11:06:38 -0600The past is past only. Nobody can compensate for the loss, and damages suffered. However, the past enables to introspect and identify the lapses and take corrective steps while planning for a better future.
Wed, 30 Dec 2015 07:24:59 -0600Our moment in time is fraught with disruption, detachment and the transmission of so much information that we have lost our words, masked our canvas, and silenced our symphonies. We have forfeited precious, human relationships for vapid, digital connections and snubbed a mortal embrace for the cold tap of a soulless automaton.
Tue, 29 Dec 2015 07:24:56 -0600Sometimes, I do my best thinking in so many different places, and not just on the toilet or in the bathtub. My point to that sentence is: Creative, constructive thought is an "all the time thing, not just once in a while when the inspiration is right. So, that is exactly what I mean by anyone who lives a real life is a conscious being.
Mon, 28 Dec 2015 06:21:08 -0600Yesterday, I celebrated Christmas with my Mother. That for me is the real meaning of Christmas. Giving my Mom joy, although there are many good, yet genuine meanings to the holiday that transcend or even are somewhat below even that. But, here, I am not at all writing about the commercial or the crass at all.
Mon, 21 Dec 2015 10:29:23 -0600Many dreams remain mere visuals without any inconsistency in their sequences. Some are special that we wake or shake up in the bed due to shock or incredible surprise. Whatever be the dreams...
Fri, 18 Dec 2015 08:06:50 -0600This article talks about musings of our body parts. They never really talk and we do never hear them say a word, but these are constantly at their work-station. Engaged in the roles they are assigned to, they keep functioning till a body breathes. They are meeting up somewhere we do not know. They are in rendezvous with each other even though it appears to be out of sync. They are busy exchanging their thoughts as we watch from a distance trying to get into their conversations - just a philosophical thinking! Probably, trying to find what they would talk if they could...
Wed, 16 Dec 2015 13:28:16 -0600The assertion from the literary world in the examples given provide a preamble to examining the paradigm of fate. All that is presented is justified by establishing endoxa, going through aporias and proving that human fate is an ontological fact, aligned with Latin saying: Ducunt volentem fata, nolentem trahunt.
Wed, 09 Dec 2015 11:58:57 -0600"Industrious" seems like a long word to some and a short word with a certain meaning to others. But either way, it means work. Even if we do not like work, it needs to be done and wants to be done especially. But, when it gets done to our satisfaction, industrious is not such a bad word, is it?
Wed, 09 Dec 2015 10:50:09 -0600In this article I will discuss to kinds of classes to teach philosophy. Both are important for a good philosophical education.
Wed, 18 Nov 2015 15:56:04 -0600You can still enjoy life even if you are busy. You can even take time out to smell a flower or two mindfully. All you have to do is do it.
Sat, 07 Nov 2015 12:09:07 -0600In the US we want to live as free people, that is to say we want freedom to go about our affairs and pursue happiness as long as we are not hurting others, and we agree to this as part of our social contract. But what happens when we try to extend that social program to something like human breeding, off-spring or how many kids you are allowed? "Hey, wait one minute!" you say. Yes, and you are not alone, and yet, we already have 7.7 Billion people on the planet, we hardly have a shortage right?
Mon, 02 Nov 2015 14:30:49 -0600Andy Denzler's paintings explore hyperreality in our society as espoused by Jean Baudrillard and Henri Cartier-Bresson's decisive moment in photography. I will study and analyze 3 paintings in relation to these concepts.
Wed, 28 Oct 2015 10:36:52 -0500Oftentimes, what we see and what we perceive diverge and many times, what we see is nothing but a lie, a dream. Time and again our heart drowns in the river of false love, seeing what is not there and unseeing what is really there.
Wed, 28 Oct 2015 06:52:56 -0500My old debating nemesis, the Accidental Meta-physician and I recently had an electronic chin-wag over the relative merits of philosophy. He sees philosophy (and logic) as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I see these subjects as the greatest thing since week old and mouldy sliced bread. So here are some introductory comments of mine on the general topic of philosophy.
Mon, 26 Oct 2015 10:58:28 -0500Children behaving like the adults are a common occurrence; an act of imitation out of innocence. What about the adults tending to behave as kids?
Wed, 21 Oct 2015 07:58:49 -0500'That shalt not kill,' is one of the emphatic pronouncements of the Ten Commandments that has passed from Judaism to Christianity and Islam and has also become a fundamental part of modern secular ethics. For those who claim to be atheists and have no belief in any life after death, life must be preserved at all cost and killing is to be avoided absolutely. However, people of religion, believing in an afterlife, heaven and hell, have often found reasons for killing others, and even for seeking death for themselves. It seems ironic that those without religion tend to hold the old commandment more dearly than those who follow the religious traditions.
Sat, 17 Oct 2015 13:23:50 -0500All or nothing at all in plans in your life is never a good policy. Especially when dealing with "normal" three dimensional reality.
Sat, 10 Oct 2015 14:45:18 -0500If I knew what would happen and why, my life would actually not be much of a different story. Only, I would be more certain and satisfied with the answers I get in certain areas.
Mon, 28 Sep 2015 06:54:06 -0500Death happens in many unimaginable ways like war, accident, disease, and natural calamities. Nevertheless, death plays a vital role in Nature's scheme of things. There are many reasons to justify it. The important ones are presented here.
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 06:17:55 -0500Just when you thought you knew all about cosmology, a new theory comes up and the textbook editors wait for proof or consensus while they consider adding in that new information. A recent case in point is Stephen Hawking's latest new theory on Black Holes. Not long ago, an acquaintance asked me what I thought about this - let's talk shall we?
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 06:13:46 -0500The other day, I was discussing conspiracy theories with an online acquaintance as we both noticed quite a few world events all coming to fruition at the same time, enough chaos to make anything that might occur unpredictable to an observer, but certainly not any major powers pushing the chaos off the proverbial cliff. The question then became what will happen and on what date? Who will be the players involved and what will be the outcome. In hindsight it will be easy to see, but not so easy the prior.
Wed, 09 Sep 2015 05:54:43 -0500Call me superstitious or whatever, even an idiot at times, but I do know this: God is existence totally and little else. Everything that is not existence, or not totally there in reality is the devil. Now, I know that is a loaded statement, so let me take this article to explain myself.
Tue, 08 Sep 2015 08:53:06 -0500What follows are extracts from an ongoing on-line debate I engaged in about the place of formal logic in the great cosmic scheme of things. Some say logic is absolute and the be-all-and-end-all in the road to truth. I say that observation, evidence and resulting proofs are a better, but albeit complementary pathway to truth. The extracts have been edited so as to hopefully be meaningful as standalone paragraphs.
