Some days, Adrian Beltre is acutely aware of how close he is to becoming the 31st member of one of baseball's most illustrious fraternities. He can see the titanic silhouette of that number, "3,000," on the horizon, growing larger and nearer as he inches closer. But other days, he doesn't know how many hits he needs, or otherwise doesn't care.



Rangers 'confident' in finding deal for Darvish

There appears to be building momentum toward the Rangers trading Yu Darvish, as MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal reports that Texas is "confident" they will get a quality return for the ace and that the club is actively exchanging names they would want in return with other clubs.

It takes a special circumstance for Nolan Ryan to attend a National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and Sunday certainly qualifies. Ryan will travel to Cooperstown, N.Y., on Friday to watch his former Rangers teammate Ivan Rodriguez and Astros slugger Jeff Bagwell get inducted on Sunday.

Miami unloaded on Rangers starter Yu Darvish early, and the Marlins cruised to a record-setting 22-10 victory on Wednesday night at Globe Life Park for their fourth win in their last six games.

After being shut out in back-to-back games at home, the Rangers' offense erupted on Tuesday. They launched four home runs, including two from Joey Gallo, and Cole Hamels held Miami at bay to give Texas a 10-4 win on Tuesday at Globe Life Park. The Rangers have won four of their last five games and are 3 1/2 games out of the American League Wild Card, as both New York and Kansas City picked up wins on Tuesday as well.
