Wed, 6 Sep 2017 09:02:00 CDT

When the Rolling Stones released "Their Satanic Majesties Request" in 1967, says music writer Rob Bowman, "it was maligned as a poor man's 'Sgt. Pepper,' and as a colossal failure in the group's catalogue." A deluxe reissue helps us decide if that still seems true today.

Odelay: Beck brings back his fun side in long-anticipated show

Thu, 17 Aug 2017 00:09:00 CDT

Beck Hansen's music has always been a Venn diagram of art, with balls-out unironic rap occupying one circle, and beautiful melodic folk in the other. Right in the middle is when Beck rocks, and it was super cool to see all slices of him a live performance.

So what if the set Paul McCartney played Wednesday night at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, southwest of Chicago, was nearly identical to the one performed last year at Summerfest?
