For years Apple has taken the position that people will pay for a premium product. But now Apple has assumed that just because an album was 'free' that somehow it would make music less personal. Apple has done more than just cheapen the cost of music... They now have tried to cheapen the relationship people have with the music.

It seems that time has gone by very quickly. Very quickly indeed as this flowchart from [x]cube Labs shows the evolution of the mobile smartphone operating system. There are some notable OSs that are missing but it does track the main players for the US market: Palm, Android, Blackberry and Apple. Oh yeah and Microsoft too.

My most recent receipt from Albertson's is over TWO FEET long (26.5") for only 43 items. It was just a quick run to the store and yet I have this monster roll of paper. At first I thought it was some sort of inside joke. Why would anyone think that I needed a two foot long receipt to track items that I already purchased? So its more then just a long receipt that turns me off.

Just finished upgrading my websites to the newest Drupal 6.19 and new modules. Happily I didn't run into any major issues or hang ups. This is great news since I am running about a dozen websites off of a single Drupal code base.

Looks like Orbitz is getting into the mobile travel space with a new iPhone and Android mobile app. I think its interesting that their sister company is using a mobile website instead for a different strategy. Others have also headged their bets by developing both mobile sites and apps at the same time - GetThere and Rearden Commerce. HTML 5.0 looks very promising and I can't wait to see how this plays out in the coming years.

I travel through an airport almost weekly and while I think 90% of the TSA rules and processes are just "Security Theater" to make grandma feel safe but I have pretty much put up with it all.
