Greeley man pleads guilty to kidnapping in connection with 1984 rape case

A little more than 33 years after a Greeley man raped a 19-year-old woman in an alleyway off 8th Avenue, his family wept as he was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs. Inocencio Trevino pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree kidnapping in connection with a sexual assault he committed 33 years ago.

Allegations that a botched liposuction sent a patient into heart failure has raised questions about why Colorado allows plastic surgery centers to operate without state oversight, and whether health officials are putting patients in peril by failing to root out sloppy handling of powerful painkillers and anesthetics. The lawsuit names as a defendant Elizabeth Lammot Campell, who provided anesthetic services for several area plastic surgeons.

Colo. father accused of shooting, killing son

Murder charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting and killing his son during an argument in Washington County just days ago. Police say Stanley Laybourn shot and killed Leyton Laybourn, 31, after an argument that turned physical on County Road 5 on Sunday evening.

DOT Grant Will Ease Truck Climbing, Congestion in Colorado

A new truck climbing lane and automated anti-icing systems are among the projects a $12 million federal grant will support in La Plata County, Colo., an area that draws thousands of trucks each year. The U.S. Department of Transportation on Aug. 2 proposed the funding for the southwestern Colorado county, which would use the grant to construct a 1.7-mile alignment of U.S. Route 550, connecting with U.S. Route 160 at the Grandview Interchange.
