OTTAWA — The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, today announced that the existing bilateral air transport agreement between Canada and Saudi Arabia has been expanded. The amendments, which were recently negotiated during the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will give additional flexibility for airlines of both countries to determine routings and pricing, and allow them to respond to market developments more rapidly.



Transport Canada clears Santa for take off

OTTAWA — Transport Canada is pleased that Santa and his sleigh have successfully passed the pre-flight inspection process and been cleared for take-off. As of today all of Santa's paperwork has been approved, his cargo has been checked, loaded and balanced, and his flight plan has been filed. Santa Claus and his reindeer are expected to leave the North Pole on time and with all toys on board.

(NA-30), today inaugurated the Western section of autoroute 30, which has been built through a public-private partnership. The long-awaited 42-kilometre stretch of road completes this major highway project. The new infrastructure connects autoroute 20 and autoroute 40 in Vaudreuil-Dorion to the existing autoroute 30 in Châteauguay. Since December 15, it allows highway users to travel on autoroute 30 all the way from Vaudreuil-Dorion to Sorel-Tracy.
