You can use Shari's link at the top of this list and click on "sold items only" to very quickly scan an alphabetical list of all sales... it's immune to number shifts caused by the random deletion of unsold items (even though that practice is annoying), however, the list does not retain deleted sales transactions (yes, if there is a way to track them these people should be banned)

I agree with your rant, Paul. It is my main concern with Kickstarter games. The lack of a game developer that say Portal, or Stronghold or FFG run all their games through.

Most of the times these independent companies do everything themselves and they're doing it for the first time and don't do enough playtesting or even any blind testing. Therefore, we get these horrible rulebooks and lack luster games that ooze potential and inspire our imaginations yet don't have that extra development to take it from a decent endeavour to the big leagues.

My experience is you need to play quickly. If people are desperate to eek as much out of every trade and push and push for trades instead of accepting that no one wants to trade, then the game drags and is no fun. In this sense, I find it flows really well with people who are into quantity of trades and not quality of trades. The quality people really start slowing things down and no, the game isn't a good two hour game.

I fully expected to play ZERO games this past week. It's all my power-gamer wife, man.

As for challenges, I like using them as a prod to get to less-played titles on my shelf, and in the case of solitaire-only, explore that specific player footprint which gets the least attention from me, typically. I like both the narrative and puzzly difficulty and resolution that come from playing directly against the game.

This is the group that has me noticing that even four games to a pod might be a bit much when you can only vote for one. I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of head-to-head matchups (although I understand it would make it difficult to run a reasonably sized field).

I've played all of these, and in terms of which game I personally would most like to play, they are very clearly ranked Pandemic Legacy, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, and Agricola. But the fact that I consider playing Agricola roughly as exciting as watching grass grow (theme matters to me) isn't captured at all by my single vote.

Of course, it may all be a completely moot point since there are enough people that disagree with me entirely that Agricola would probably easily win all three one-on-one matches anyway. But I do find myself wondering how Puerto Rico would do against Agricola if the PL and TtR voters (such as myself) were also choosing between the two.

I wonder, too. I prefer Agricola to a poke in the eye. I might prefer the poke in the eye over Puerto Rico. TtR I will play with the children, if they ask, but not at my suggestion. Pandemic Legacy I bought with the express purpose of playing with the children.
I expect, though, that my opinions are not likely to be widely shared.

As a potential first-time seller, I've read how to process sales through the marketplace, but I have a few questions regarding this process. Does the actual exchange of monies happen when the games actually change hands at DTC? Do the listings through the marketplace happen prior to the convention or after the convention? Have you tried the new mobile version of Race for the Galaxy? It's really good and provides a different experience than the robot by simulating players using Keldon's AI. Worth checking out!

Brink of War changes the game a lot. Really a lot. It's almost a different game. But it's worth learning to play because it really opens up the experience.

I'm with you at a solid 10 for the game. It's my conventional favorite game. (I often list Hanabi as #1 because it's a perfect elegant design, but I'd play Race more often.)

While I did enjoy the first season or two, it never came close to Breaking Bad level appreciation. The third season is knocking it out of the park though and it's getting close.

Do you think Cyclades is worth seeking out if someone (me) has never played it before?

Absolutely. If you enjoy those 90 minute thematic Euro hybrids, this is still amongst the best. Titans is probably my favorite expansion of any game (although honestly, there's not too many expansions that standout in my head), I do really enjoy it with just the base game.
