All good things come to an end. Free wifi, "War and Peace", six month unbeaten runs. It's a mark of Saracens' resilience, though, that I, as many others no doubt, saw that half time score, and, thought, yes, the comeback is still on, given the recoveries seen at various times last season. This time it didn't happen, as Harlequins profited from two very sharp pieces of attacking play in a smart intercept and a long accurate pass to the wing, and the South West London side demonstrated some powerful defence hitherto lacking from their game up to this point. What of Sarries then? Quite rightly, Mark McCall emphasised how they rallied to claim a losing bonus point, and kept their hosts scoreless after the break, which was encouraging. They also made more ground (Alex Goode alone making 136 metres) and line breaks in attack, retaining all of their lineout and scrum ball, as did Quins, but, in turn, knocked on more regularly than the home side.

Malaysian GP: Williams Martini Grand Prix Preview

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 14:14:46 +0100

After the tight and twisty Singapore circuit the Williams Martini team moves to the Sepang circuit for the 2016 Malaysian GP. It is a circuit that had recent renovations but it remains a circuit that is hard on tyres. The weather can alsoplay a major role with races in the past seeing heavy showers hit the circuit. Again the Williams team is aiming to secure further points as the season draws to a close.

Donkey Derby

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 20:19:05 +0100

Bath’s first error on Saturday will be met by a cacophony of donkey impressions from the Shed. This reaction, the favourite taunt of Kingsholm supporters, is guaranteed. It also adds spice to a derby that needs no artificial incitement to enflame it. Always a testy encounter, this is the one players and supporters feel the most personally and one which has, in recent years, offered plenty of incident and controversy. The “Battle of Kingsholm”, a feisty affair of 7 cards which saw Gloucester finish with 11 men and concede defeat to a late penalty try, sticks in the craw for the men in cherry and white. Since then Bath have spoiled Gloucester’s Christmas the following season, but themselves harbour a grudge about the narrow home defeat Gloucester inflicted through controversial penalties last February. There are many other niggles and humiliations for both clubs –which only go to make the “eeyore, eeyore!” chant more delicious for Gloucester and more irritating for the men from The Rec.

Prediction League Game 7 - Airdrie 0 Vs. 2 Albion Rovers

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 10:07:57 +0100

Sometimes after a bad game you hope that having a good night out, this time in Glasgow watching a new band have an album launch, will deflect from the fact that your team is simply god dam awful. For the first time in over seventy years Airdrie have lost to Albion Rovers in Airdrie and although most of us probably didn’t realise that record even existed the fact makes things even worse.

Singapore GP: Zero points for Williams Martini

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 15:21:55 +0100

The result of the 2016 Singapore Grand Prix would see the Williams Martini team fail to achieve any points with only one car finishing the race down in twelfth. Felipe Massa would finish a lap down in twelfth while Valtteri Bottas would retire in his garage. For Valtteri his race would go wrong at the first corner after having made contact with another car seeing him suffer a rear puncture as well as rear bodywork damage as a result. The Williams team was hoping to extend their lead over Force India but this was not to be.

Singapore GP: Difficult qualifying for Williams Martini

Sat, 17 Sep 2016 15:37:31 +0100

Qualifying for the 2016 Singapore GP would see the Williams Martini drivers finish in 11th and 12th, right behind their championship rivals Force India. Valtteri Bottas would finish ahead of Felipe Massa but both drivers would be hindered by yellow flags that were shown as a result of an accident out on the circuit. At least both Williams drivers will be able to start the race on their choice of tyres for Sunday's race which should help with strategy.

Singapore GP: Little improvement for Williams Martini in FP3

Sat, 17 Sep 2016 12:40:32 +0100

The final practice session for the 2016 Singapore GP would see Williams Martini drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa finish in 10th and 14th. Another disappointing result for the Williams team with neither driver close to the quickest times. The only change was that in this session Valtteri would lead team-mate Felipe in the times. Their pace would raise questions as to whether both drivers would make it into the final period of qualifying.

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 16:16:33 +0100

The second Friday practice sessionfor the 2016 Singapore GP would see both Williams Mrtini drivers finish outside the top ten. Felipe Massa would again lead his team-mate finishing in 14th while Valtteri Bottas was 15th. Both drivers would finish over 2.5 seconds off the quickest time. Despite this the Williams team would comment that there lack of performance compare to other teams was not something of major concern given their fuel and engine settings. Saturday practice will confirm how accurate such statements are.
