Johns Hopkins: Chinn Paces Johns Hopkins with 18th Place Finish at Temple Open

Lauren Chinn was the top finisher for the Johns Hopkins women's fencing team on Sunday at the annual Temple Open. The freshman placed 18th out of 86 competitors in the Epee. Senior Grace Fried also finished in the top 20 for the Blue Jays, placing 20th out of 98 in the Foil.

Johns Hopkins: Ferguson Paces Johns Hopkins with Second Place Finish at Temple Open

For the third consecutive year, senior David Ferguson finished in second in the Foil at the Temple Open. Ferguson's runner-up finish highlighted top-15 finishes for the Johns Hopkins men's fencing team in all three weapons.

Lafayette: Four Fencers Compete at Temple Open

Four Lafayette fencers traveled to Philadelphia this past weekend to compete in the Temple Open. Freshman Stephen Alexis placed ninth out of 94 men's foil fencers, the highest finish by a Leopard.

North Carolina: Ziechmann Leads Strong Showing For Tar Heels

Sophomore Kevin Ziechmann turned in the weekend's top performance with second place in men's sabre as the North Carolina fencing team competed at the Temple Open Saturday and Sunday. The Tar Heel placed at least two fencers in the top 20 in each weapon in a strong team showing.

NCAA: Penn State Places Two In Top 10 At Temple

Senior Charles Cimet placed fifth and Junior Brian Helfich placed seventh in epee at the Temple Open this past weekend, pacing the Nittany Lions in an early-season meet. Junior Samuel Gay placed 14th in epee as well.



Northwestern: Wildcats Post Perfect 10-0 Record at Northwestern Duals

Northwestern opened up the dual-meet portion of it 2008-09 schedule with a bang, going 10-0 at the NU Duals at Patten Gymnasium. The Wildcats won an impressive 252 of the 270 individual bouts on the day, lead by the foil team's overall record of 86-4.

Northwestern: Wildcats Ready For Dual Season By Hosting NU Duals This Weekend

After a handful of individual tournament, Northwestern now sets its sights on the dual-meet portion of its 2008-09 season, hosting the fall portion of the Northwestern Duals this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16, at Patten Gymnasium. Action gets underway both days at 8 a.m.

Sacred Heart: Women's Fencing Goes 2-1 at Vassar

The Pioneer women kicked of their dual meet season on Sunday by going 2-1 at the Vassar Invitational. The women defeated CCNY 19-8 and Yeshiva 24-3 but lost to Vassar 16-11.
