The Navy women’s soccer team used consistent pressure and quick striking offense to secure a commanding 4-0 win over Loyola in the Mids’ home conference opener at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility on Friday. With the game scoreless at halftime, but significant advantages in possession and scoring chances in favor of the Mids, a wild eight-minute run of play in the opening stages of the second half saw Navy (9-3, 2-0 PL) net three consecutive goals over Loyola (2-7, 0-2 PL) and roll to the team’s fifth straight victory in a row.

In the final non-conference game of the regular season for the Navy women’s soccer team, the Mids recorded an emphatic 6-0 win over Howard University at home on Monday night. Playing at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility, the Mids (8-3) scored three goals in each half on their way to the victory versus the Bison (1-6). Six different Navy players netted goals, while four more tallied assists on Monday.

Navy Comes from Behind in 2-1 Road Win at Holy Cross

In the opening game of the 2017 Patriot League conference season, the Navy women's soccer team had a 90-minute battle on its hands that required two second half goals to help the visiting Mids overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit and earn a 2-1 road win at Holy Cross on Friday. Two well struck corner kicks into the box by Baseley McClaskey within the first 15 minutes of the second half found the heads of Meghan Hegarty and Liza Harris to swing the one-goal deficit into a one-goal advantage for the Mids (7-3, 1-0 PL) over the Crusaders (2-5-1, 0-1 PL) at the Smith Soccer Stadium.

The winning formula for the Mids (5-3) versus the Dukes (4-3) consisted of quick-striking offense over the opening 15 minutes and a strong defensive effort down the stretch of regulation play.

Faced with the task of taking on the fifth-ranked team in the nation on the road, the Navy women’s soccer team battled throughout on Sunday, but the host Stanford Cardinal were too much as they defeated the Midshipmen by a score of 7-0. Playing at Cagan Stadium, the Mids (4-3) played the Cardinal (4-1) tight through the opening 45 minutes, but five second-half goals sealed the visitors’ fate.

Navy Posts Fourth Straight Shutout with 2-0 Win at Pacific

A trip across the country couldn’t derail the streak of high-level performances by the Navy women’s soccer team as the Mids came away with a hard-fought 2-0 win over the University of Pacific on Friday night at Knoles Field in Stockton, Calif. The shutout victory increased the Mids’ win streak to four games and scoreless streak to 365:49 minutes. A career-high 11 saves by goalkeeper Sydney Fortson stood up for the Mids (4-2) after Ash Fairow recorded the game-winning goal over the Tigers (1-3-1) in the 20th minute of play on a night when the temperature at kickoff hovered near the 100-degree mark.

Mids Head to West Coast for Northern California Doubleheader

Watch: Friday | Watch: Sunday | Currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak, the Navy women's soccer team will look to extend their run of strong play with a pair of games in Northern California this weekend. Traveling to the Golden State for the first time since 2008, the Mids (3-2) will take on the University of Pacific Tigers (1-2-1) in Stockton, Calif. on Friday night at 10 p.m. ET (7 PT) before heading to Palo Alto and a Sunday matchup with the No. 5 Stanford Cardinal (2-1).

The Navy women’s soccer team cruised to a 6-0 victory on Tuesday night in a non-conference game versus the University of Mary Washington at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. The Mids notched their third straight shutout win with three goals in each half of action versus the Eagles. Eleanor Pratt led the offensive attack for Navy with three goals and an assist from her center midfielder position.
