His growth from a walk-on to four-year starter was a leading factor in Chinnery joining this esteemed class of senior candidates.

In the team’s final non-conference weekend set, the Mids (15-9) were six outs away from dropping their third game in a row, until they solved the Tigers (4-13) and notched five runs in the bottom of the eighth on their way to an exciting 8-6 victory at home at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.

After winning Friday's series opener by a 9-5 score and with 13 hits, the Mids (14-9) struggled to put together substantial multi-hit and multi-run innings versus a game Tigers (4-12) pitching staff that controlled the flow of the doubleheader. Princeton took game one by a score of 4-2 before closing out the twinbill with a 5-2 victory.

The Mids (14-7) received a three-run home run by Liam Lowery (So., Williamsburg, Va.) in the bottom of the second to open up a lead that starting pitcher Noah Song (So., Claremont, Calif.) would help control throughout the majority of his outing as the right-hander struck out 10 Tigers (2-12) over his 6.1 innings in the game. An eighth-inning two-run home run by Leland Saile (Sr., Land O’Lakes, Fla.) plated late insurance runs for Navy in the team’s 11th straight win in a row.

The Mids (13-7) overwhelmed the Hornets (6-10) right from the start and never looked back as their offense clicked to the tune of 18 runs and 27 hits, while its pitching staff was equally as impressive with just four hits allowed and no runs. On its way to an 18-0 win at Delaware State's Soldier Field, Navy led by 10 runs after three innings and 18 after six.

The duo helped Navy go 4-0 on the week with victories over UMES, Marist College and Central Connecticut State twice.

The Mids road contest at UMBC on Wednesday, March 15 has been cancelled, while its home-and-home with Delaware State has been flipped to Annapolis on Thursday, March 16 and Dover on Wednesday, March 22.
