Chinnery Selected as Candidate for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award

The Premier Sports Management group announced its 30 candidates for the 2017 Senior CLASS Baseball Award on Monday afternoon and Navy catcher Adrian Chinnery (Sr., Wilmington, Del.) was amongst the select group named. His growth from a walk-on to four-year starter was a leading factor in Chinnery joining this esteemed class of senior candidates.



Navy Rallies for Late-Inning Win over Princeton

The Navy baseball team showcased its grit and stick-to-itiveness on Sunday afternoon in game four of its series versus Princeton. In the team’s final non-conference weekend set, the Mids (15-9) were six outs away from dropping their third game in a row, until they solved the Tigers (4-13) and notched five runs in the bottom of the eighth on their way to an exciting 8-6 victory at home at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.



Navy Falls Twice on Saturday to Princeton

The Navy baseball team saw its 11-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. After winning Friday's series opener by a 9-5 score and with 13 hits, the Mids (14-9) struggled to put together substantial multi-hit and multi-run innings versus a game Tigers (4-12) pitching staff that controlled the flow of the doubleheader. Princeton took game one by a score of 4-2 before closing out the twinbill with a 5-2 victory.



Home Runs Power Mids to 9-5 Victory over Princeton

The Navy baseball team used clutching two-out hitting and a dominant first six innings on the mound to grab a 6-0 lead before eventually holding onto a 9-5 victory on Friday afternoon action at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. The Mids (14-7) received a three-run home run by Liam Lowery (So., Williamsburg, Va.) in the bottom of the second to open up a lead that starting pitcher Noah Song (So., Claremont, Calif.) would help control throughout the majority of his outing as the right-hander struck out 10 Tigers (2-12) over his 6.1 innings in the game. An eighth-inning two-run home run by Leland Saile (Sr., Land O’Lakes, Fla.) plated late insurance runs for Navy in the team’s 11th straight win in a row.

As a final tune-up for Patriot League play the teams have scheduled a four-game series every year beginning in 2008 ... Mids Roll in 18-0 Shutout at Delaware State

In their first road game in three-plus weeks, the Navy baseball team got off the bus on Wednesday at Delaware State ready for action. The Mids (13-7) overwhelmed the Hornets (6-10) right from the start and never looked back as their offense clicked to the tune of 18 runs and 27 hits, while its pitching staff was equally as impressive with just four hits allowed and no runs. On its way to an 18-0 win at Delaware State's Soldier Field, Navy led by 10 runs after three innings and 18 after six.

Following a scorching week of action at the plate, freshman Evan Lowery (Williamsburg, Va.) was recognized on Tuesday by the Patriot League as the Corvias Player of the Week. In his first week of extended duty in 2017, Lowery and the Mids went 5-0 in games versus Delaware State and New York Tech.



Baseball Completes Weekend Sweep with 10-2 Win over NYIT

The Navy baseball team concluded its four-game series sweep of New York Tech on Sunday afternoon with a 10-2 victory at home at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. A career-best relief appearance by Andrew Sauer (So., Johns Creek, Ga.) helped an early 3-2 lead hold up before the Mids (12-7) pulled away versus the Bears (2-13) over the final three innings. Sunday’s win helped Navy go 4-0 on the weekend and up its season-long win streak to nine.



Navy Overpowers NYIT in Doubleheader Sweep

The Navy baseball team turned in a pair of crisply-played dominant performances on Saturday in a home doubleheader sweep of New York Tech. The Mids (11-7) defeated the Bears (2-12) by a score of 15-3 in game one before recording a 12-0 shutout in the second game at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. Navy used 10 late runs in the first contest to turn a close 5-3 game in a 15-3 blowout before dictating all areas of play in the second game with runs in six of eight innings and allowing just three hits to NYIT.

Mids Extend Win Streak to Six with 10-5 Victory over NYIT

Navy continued showcasing a winning brand of baseball for its home fans on Friday afternoon with a 10-5 victory over New York Tech. The Mids (9-7) received production from throughout their lineup with eight starters recording hits and RBIs versus the Bears (2-10). Navy’s five-run win at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium on Friday was the team’s sixth straight dating back to last Wednesday.



Navy Defeats Delaware State 3-2

The Navy baseball team extended its winning streak to five games on Thursday afternoon with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Delaware State at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. In a game that was controlled by each team’s pitching staff over the first seven innings, the Mids (8-7) turned a late 2-1 deficit into a win over the Hornets (3-8) courtesy of a two-RBI double by Leland Saile (Sr., Land O’Lakes, Fla.) in the bottom of the eighth.



Baseball Closes Spring Break with Five Home Games

Stats | Video: Sunday Only | After posting a 3-0 mark last weekend in action versus Central Connecticut State and Marist College, the Navy baseball team will bookend its 2017 spring break with a run of five home games over the next four days beginning on Thursday with a single tilt against Delaware State at 3 p.m. at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. Following, the matchup with the Hornets, the Mids will welcome the New York Tech Bears for four games. The two teams will play once on Friday at 3 p.m., twice on Saturday starting at 12 p.m. and once on Sunday at 1 p.m.



Knowles and Biggers Honored by Patriot League

For the third straight week, the Navy baseball team was in the headlines of the Patriot League weekly awards announcement as CF Logan Knowles (Jr., Port Orchard, Wash.) was named the Corvias Patriot League Player of the Week and LF/2B Zach Biggers (Fr., Walhalla, S.C.) was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week. The duo helped Navy go 4-0 on the week with victories over UMES, Marist College and Central Connecticut State twice.



Baseball Adjusts Schedule for Weather

Due to impending weather in the Annapolis area, the Navy baseball team has been forced to make some adjustments to its upcoming schedule. The Mids road contest at UMBC on Wednesday, March 15 has been cancelled, while its home-and-home with Delaware State has been flipped to Annapolis on Thursday, March 16 and Dover on Wednesday, March 22.
