Jamie O’Grady scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute to lift Hartwick to a 2-1 win over Siena Soccer in Oneonta, New York. Senior striker Alexander Tejera converted a penalty kick with 2:31 remaining for the Saints to provide the final margin.

Siena Soccer Head Coach Cesar Markovic couldn’t have scripted a much more dramatic finish for his 200th career head coaching victory. Senior striker Alexander Tejera scored the golden goal with just five seconds remaining in double overtime as the Saints shocked Sacred Heart 2-1 in Connecticut.

Tyler Mitchiner scored the golden goal in the 103rd minute of double overtime to lift Army West Point over Siena Soccer 1-0 at Siena Turf Field. Senior goalkeeper Aleksa Radosavljevic made six saves for the Saints which extended a program record with their seventh consecutive overtime match.



Fit to be Tied

For the program record sixth consecutive match Siena Soccer played an overtime contest, and for the third time in four matches to open 2017 the result was a tie. Senior goalkeeper Aleksa Radosavljevic made five saves to help lead the Saints to a scoreless draw with Holy Cross at Siena Turf Field.



Saints Rally Late to Earn Tie in Wild Home Opener

Senior striker Alexander Tejera scored the game-tying goal with just 1:47 remaining in regulation to rally Siena Soccer to a 2-2 tie with George Mason in the home opener at Siena Turf Field. The Patriots had taken the lead just 55 seconds earlier in a match where three of the four goals scored came within the final three minutes of each half.

The Saints recorded back-to-back OT games to start the year for the first time since 2006.

Emmanuel Usen, Jr. scored the game-winning golden goal on a penalty kick in the 95th minute of the first overtime to lift defending Big West Champion and preseason favorite Cal State Northridge over Siena Soccer 2-1 in the season opener for both teams in Southern California. Freshman midfielder Alejandro Riquelme scored for the Saints which were making just the program’s second-ever trip west of the Mississippi, and first appearance in the Golden State.

Men’s soccer senior captain Milorad Sobot, and four members of the women’s team – senior captains Michele Tremblay and Madison Vasquez, junior back Amanda Holtzman, and sophomore back Hanna Longendyke – were named Preseason All-MAAC selections.

Siena’s diverse Class of 2021 includes six true freshmen – four of whom hail from different foreign countries – while the Saints also welcome rising sophomore and Villanova transfer Frank Cotroneo to the squad.
