Men's Lacrosse Player Tate Boyce Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Providence College men's lacrosse junior goaltender Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league on Monday, Feb. 19. The Friars have earned BIG EAST weekly recognition for two-consecutive weeks. Boyce finished with 12 saves in the Friars' victory over Bryant (13-8) on Feb. 17.

Lacrosse Defeats Bryant, 13-8

The Providence College men's lacrosse team defeated Bryant, 13-8, on Saturday, Feb. 17 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The Friars improved to 2-1 on the season, while Bryant dropped to 1-2 on the year.

Men's Lacrosse Players Named To 2018 NEILA Preseason Teams

The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced today, February 15, its 2018 Preseason Teams. Five members of the Providence College lacrosse program were selected to the NEILA Division 1 Preseason Teams. Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) and James Barclay (Toronto, Ontario) were First Team selections. Brendan Kearns (Wantagh, N.Y.), Sean Leahey (Cranford, N.J.) and Conner Byrne (Hicksville, N.Y.) were named to the Second Team.

Three Men's Lacrosse Players Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

Providence College men's lacrosse player Zach Masessa (Montgomery, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Feb. 12. Masessa registered his first collegiate tally against Holy Cross in the Friars' 9-6 victory on Saturday, Feb. 10. Masessa, made his collegiate debut Boston University on Feb. 3 and collected two groundballs.

Friars Defeat Holy Cross in Home-Opener, 9-6

The Providence men's lacrosse team defeated Holy Cross, 9-6, on Feb. 10 in its 2018 home opener on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The Friars improved to 1-1 on the season, while the Crusaders dropped to 0-1 to start the year.

The Providence College men's lacrosse program mourns the loss of former Head Coach Kevin Murray. Murray, who guided the Friars lacrosse program for a nine seasons, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Men's Lacrosse Earns Three Preseason All-BIG EAST Selections

It was announced by the league on Wednesday, Jan. 24 that Providence College men's lacrosse players James Barclay (Toronto, Ontario), Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) and Conner Byrne (Hicksville, N.Y.) were named to the 2018 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Boyce and Barclay were each honored as unanimous selections. The Friars also were picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Men's Lacrosse To Be Broadcast on CBS Sports Network

The BIG EAST men's lacrosse 2018 season will feature five games broadcast on national television. CBS Sports Network will broadcast four contests, including three games in the BIG EAST Championship in Villanova, Pa. on May 3 and 5. This marks the first time that CBS Sports Network will air the BIG EAST men's lacrosse championship game. The Network has broadcast the semifinal contests for the past two seasons.

Men's Lacrosse Travels To Boston For Annual Career Networking Day

On Monday, January 8, the Providence College lacrosse team traveled to Boston for the program's Annual Career Networking Day. It marks the fourth-consecutive year of this event and the first year that it was held in Boston. The previous three years were hosted in New York City.
