M. Basketball. Men's Basketball Game Versus Seton Hall Suspended Due Slippery Floor Conditions, Game WIll Be Played Thursday At Alumni Hall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's basketball BIG EAST game versus Seton Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 21 was suspended due to slippery floor conditions with 13:03 remaining in the second half and Seton Hall leading, 56-47. The game will be resumed on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Noon on the Providence College campus at Alumni Hall in Mullaney Gym. Due to the small capacity of Alumni Hall (1,800) only Providence College faculty, staff and students will be admitted into the game.



W. Soccer. Women's Soccer Hosts Annual End Of Year Banquet

The Providence College women's soccer team held its annual banquet on Jan. 27 at the Courtyard Marriott in Providence, R.I. Seniors Madison Doherty (Peabody, Mass.), Kristin Hayman (Redmond, Wash.), Christina Klaum (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) were celebrated for their commitment to the program.

W. Basketball. Women's Basketball Game Notes vs. Villanova

Providence will conclude its regular-season schedule on the road against Villanova and Georgetown. On Friday, Feb. 23, Providence will travel to Villanova, Pa. to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. in Jake Nevin Field House. The Friars wrap up the schedule against Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. in McDonough Arena.

W. Ice Hockey. Women's Hockey East Quarterfinal Tickets On Sale

The Providence College women's hockey team is set to host the UConn Huskies in a Hockey East Quarterfinal series from Feb. 23-25. Games are slated for Friday, Feb. 23 (7:00 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 24 (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 25 (4:00 p.m.) if needed.



Softball. Softball's Ramirez Named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The BIG EAST announced its weekly awards and honor roll for softball on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The BIG EAST announced Providence College senior Christina Ramirez (Niceville, Fla.) as the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for her performance at the UNF Osprey Tournament. Sophomore Mackensie Compton (Langhorne, Pa.) was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

M. Lacrosse. Men's Lacrosse Player Tate Boyce Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Providence College men's lacrosse junior goaltender Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league on Monday, Feb. 19. The Friars have earned BIG EAST weekly recognition for two-consecutive weeks. Boyce finished with 12 saves in the Friars' victory over Bryant (13-8) on Feb. 17.

W. Basketball. Jovana Nogic Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Providence College junior guard Jovana Nogic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 19. It marked the second time this season that Nogic earned a spot on the honor roll (Jan. 29, Feb. 18). Earlier this season she also was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 27.

W. Basketball. Women's Hoops Defeats Xavier On Senior Day, 69-48

The Providence College women's basketball team earned a 69-48 victory over Xavier on Feb. 18 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. Prior to the game, the program honored its senior class of Allegra Botteghi (Bologna, Italy) and Brianna Frias (Worcester, Mass.). Providence improved to 10-19 overall (3-14 BIG EAST), while Xavier dropped to 9-19 (2-15 BIG EAST).
