The Providence College women’s ice hockey team was defeated, 5-2, by the Boston University Terriers on Jan. 22. The Friars move to 12-12-2 (7-7-2 HE) and the Terriers improve to 13-8-5 (8-7-4 HE).



W. Basketball. St. John's Holds Off Late Push By Friars, 60-50

The Providence College women's basketball team was within striking distance in the final four minutes of the game, but the St. John's Red Storm defeated the Friars, 60-50, on Jan. 22 in Queens, N.Y. Senior Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) paced three Friars in double figures with a game-high 21 points. She also added a team-best seven rebounds and four assists.

W. Basketball. Women's Hoops Falls Short At Seton Hall, 55-43

The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Seton Hall, 55-43, on Jan. 20 in South Orange, N.J. Yoyo Nogic (Lisbon, Portugal) and Clara Che (Valencia, Spain) combined to score 23 points for Providence, who dropped to 9-10 overall (1-7 BIG EAST). Deja Winters came off the bench to score 18 points for the Pirates, who improved to 9-10 (2-6 BIG EAST).



M. Soccer. Men's Soccer Announces 2017 Team Captains

Following the conclusion of the 2016 season, Providence College men's soccer Head Coach Craig Stewart announced the team captains for the 2017 season. Redshirt seniors Mark Jecewiz (Smithtown, N.Y), Dominik Machado (Attleboro, Mass.) and Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) will serve as team captains.
