The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished Sunday’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference No. 2 meet with a 3-1 record and a second-place finish behind rival Delaware State.The difference in the final standings came down to a 924-882 loss to the Hornets in the third match of the day. Delaware State finished the event 7-1 overall.

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished Saturday’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference No. 2 meet with a 3-1 record and in first place 48 pins ahead of Delaware State.Junior Alexandra Hernandez (Maracaibo, Venezuela) bowled a 211.50 average over four games to finish in first place individually. Her high came of 247 came in the third game of the day — a 1,015-837 win against Coppin State.



Hawks looking to rebound in 2nd MEAC event of year

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore never found the success it wanted during the first MEAC North event of the season — finishing second to Delaware State in Baltimore back on Nov. 11-12.The Shore (29-17, 6-2 MEAC) lost just two matches over that two-day stretch, but one to Morgan State and another to the first-place Hornets sealed the deal.On Saturday (Dec 2.), the Hawks take another shot at their MEAC North foes — this time in the friendly confines of their home lanes in Millsboro, Delaware — as they host the North’s second meet of the season.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce the Hawks Hall of Fame Class of 2018, which will be honored at a Feb. 23 gala entitled Bow Ties and Tennis Shoes.The group includes: Jessica Worsley, Women's Bowling, 2004-08; Tim Parham, Basketball, 2003-06; Charles "Chucky" Pickard, Baseball, Track and Field, Basketball, 1998-2002; Angela Fowler, Women's Basketball, 1989-1992; Doug Dukes, Assistant Coach, Women's Bowling; Gail Aiken, Contributor, Athletic Staff.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore entered Day 2 of competition at its host tournament — The Hawk Classic — in third place and just 177 pins off the lead. Saturday’s Traditional competition saw the Hawks go 3-2 with wins against MEAC rival Delaware State (1,110-996), Kutztown (1,006-867) and Franklin Pierce (996-837).

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore suffered just two losses during the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference North Division No. 1 meet hosted by Coppin State. Unfortunately, they were two too many.The Hawks fell to eventual winner Delaware State in Traditional play on Saturday (Nov. 11) and then dropped a Baker match to Morgan State on Sunday to finish 6-2 and in second place.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished 1-2 on the bracket day of competition on Sunday (Nov. 5) at the Track Kat Clash and finished the event in fourth place.The Hawks opened with a loss to Arkansas State (4-1), followed that up with a win a 4-2 win against Sam Houston and then fell to Arkansas State again 4-2.
