LOS ANGELES – After posting its best mark to open a new season at the USF Olympic Intercollegiate three weeks ago, Loyola Marymount golf will travel to Fresno State’s Nick Watney Invitational in hopes of continuing its early success. The Lions will tee off for two rounds on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start followed by the final round beginning between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday.

LMU men's golf posted a final round 286 on Tuesday at the USF Olympic Intercollegiate, jumping seven spots in the standings to finish fourth overall in the 14-team field at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. It is the best finish to start the season since they placed fourth at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate on Sept. 18, 2000.

Elmes 66 Leads Lions in First Outing

Sophomore Riley Elmes posted a career-best 66 in the second round of the USF Olympic Intercollegiate on Monday in San Francisco, Calif. The Lions shaved 13 strokes off their team score from the first and second round to gain momentum going into Tuesday’s final round.

First Season Under D’Amore Begins Monday-Tuesday

However, campus was a busy place this summer, especially in the Lions Athletic Center.
