The Georgetown University women's basketball team (7-2) returned home and continued its winning ways with a 69-56 victory over the George Mason University Patriots (5-5) on Thursday evening at McDonough Arena. It was GU's first home game since Nov. 11, and Georgetown's sixth victory in a row.

Georgetown University track & field standout Kennedy Weisner (St. Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) was named the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. The honor comes after the Hoya women opened the season at the Navy Lid Lifter, hosted by the Naval Academy at the Wesley Brown Field House last Thursday. The meet was highlighted by a trio of event titles, one facility record and 11 times among the top three in five different events.

The Georgetown University swimming & diving team put in a strong showing at the three-day Bucknell Invitational, setting four school records and coming away with three individual titles. The Hoya women finished fifth of nine teams with 968 points, while the men's squad placed fifth of eight teams with 870 points. Swimming took place at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.






M. Basketball. Pryor and Peak Help Lead Georgetown Past Elon, 77-74

Georgetown took an 11-point lead in the second half, connected on more than 70 percent of its shots during the final 20 minutes, and held on to beat Elon, 77-74, in the BB&T Classic on Sunday afternoon at Verizon Center.

The Georgetown University women's basketball team (6-2) slowed a fourth-quarter comeback to pick up the 54-46 victory at the University of Delaware (5-3) at the Bob Carpenter Center on Sunday. The contest marked GU's final game away from home as part of a seven-game road swing, and Georgetown’s fifth-consecutive victory.



Swimming & Diving. Day Two of Bucknell Invitational Sees Vanin, Fitzpatrick Set Records

After the second day of the Bucknell Invitational, the Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving teams continue to sit in the middle of the pack. The Hoya men moved up a one spot and currently sit in fifth place with 627 points while the women's squad slipped from fourth to fifth with 603 points. Swimming is taking place at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
