Georgetown University women's basketball senior forward Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. It is the sixth-consecutive week that a Hoya has been on the honor roll, and Woodard’s third honor this season.

Georgetown University baseball junior outfielder Michael DeRenzi has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday. The award recognizes DeRenzi's performances in GU's four games last week.

Georgetown University softball student-athletes Mallory Belknap (Scottsdale, Ariz./Xavier College Prep) and Noelle Holiday (Bear, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy) were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. This is the first Honor Roll selection of both of their careers.

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University sophomore Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) was named the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Bucaro scored six goals in an 11-10 setback to then-No. 13/12 Towson in GU’s home opener on Saturday.



Softball. Hoyas Win in Finale of East Madeira Invite

The Georgetown University softball team defeated Brown on Sunday, 5-3. The Hoyas improved to 3-11 on the season after the win. This game was the final game of the East Madeira Invite, hosted by Eastern Michigan.



W. Basketball. Hoya Comeback Falls Short at No. 19/18 DePaul

The Georgetown University women's basketball team (17-11, 9-9 BIG EAST) could not complete a big comeback to fall, 79-70, to the No. 19/18 DePaul University Blue Demons (24-6, 16-2 BIG EAST). Senior forward Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) led the way for the Hoyas with a career-best 31 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double in her final BIG EAST regular season contest.



W. Basketball. Georgetown falls at No. 19 DePaul, 79-70

Senior Faith Woodard scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in her Georgetown regular season finale, but it would not be enough as the Hoyas fell to No. 19 DePaul by a score of 79-70 on Sunday.

The University of Dayton scored two runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Georgetown University baseball team, 8-7, on Sunday afternoon at Wofford’s Russell C. King Field. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 2-5, while the Flyers improve to 2-4.

The Georgetown University softball team split a pair of games on Saturday to move to 2-11 on the year. Both games turned out to be close as GU defeated Manhattan, 5-4, before falling to Army West Point by a score of 2-1. The games were part of the East Madeira Invite, hosted by Eastern Michigan.

The Georgetown University baseball team and Wofford College combined for 35 hits, seven home runs and 29 runs, but the Hoyas came up on the wrong end, falling 18-11, to the Terriers on Saturday afternoon at Russell C. King Field. With the loss, GU falls to 2-4, while Wofford improved to 2-4.

W. Cross Country; Track & Field. Carpenter Nabs First BIG EAST Individual Title on Final Day of Indoor Championships

Behind two event titles, the Georgetown University track & field program claimed fifth-place finishes on both the men's and women's side following the final day of the BIG EAST Indoor Championships. Following the final day of competition at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex, the Hoyas managed two event crowns and six new personal records (PRs). The men finished fifth with 89 points while the women placed fifth overall, recording 53 points.
