With the approach of the 2017-18 school year, student-athletes are finishing up their summer training and preparing to head to the Hilltop this fall. The incoming freshmen for the Georgetown men's soccer team had success over the summer in their final season of U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) play.



W. Basketball. Brunson and Rodgers Added to WNBA All-Star Game Rosters

Former Georgetown University women’s Basketball standouts Rebekkah Brunson and Sugar Rodgers were both added as replacement players to the rosters for the 2017 WNBA All-Star Game to be held on Saturday at KeyArena in Seattle. Brunson, a 14-year veteran with the Minnesota Lynx who will be making her fourth All-Star appearance, replaces Phoenix center Brittney Griner on the West roster. Rodgers, a member of the New York Liberty, will make her All-Star debut as a replacement for injured Elena Delle Donne on the East roster.

Georgetown University Head Coach Kevin Warne has announced the addition of David Shriver (C’11) as an assistant coach on the men’s lacrosse staff. Shriver returns to the Hilltop after six seasons at Penn State, including serving as the director of lacrosse operations for the last three years.

W. Basketball. Women's Basketball Adds Two Transfers to Roster

Georgetown University Head Women's Basketball Coach James Howard announced the addition of two players to the Hoya roster. Junior guard Brianna Jones (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon/Louisville) and Anita Kelava (Zagreb, Croatia/Croatian National Team/Maine) will both be coming to the Hilltop this upcoming season. Per NCAA transfer rules, the pair will be eligible for competition for the 2018-19 campaign.

Georgetown University Head Coach Pete Wilk has announced the addition of former Georgetown catcher and 2015 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Nick Collins, to the baseball coaching staff. Collins, who began his professional career after his junior year, will serve as the team’s volunteer assistant coach while he completes his degree in business management from the McDonough School of Business.



W. Golf. Kate Schanuel Named Head Women’s Golf Coach at Georgetown

M. Crew. Five Hoyas Named to IRA All-Academic Team

Five members of the Georgetown University lightweight men's rowing team were named to the 2017 Intercollegiate Rowing Association All-Academic Team (IRA). Recent graduate Kevin McGowan (C'17), rising seniors Brendan Fish (New Hope, Pa./The Lawrenceville School), John Matthews (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) and Jordi Perez (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit Dallas) as well as rising junior Joe Cecil (Alpharetta, Ga./Johns Creek) were all recognized.
