BALTIMORE -- Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team dropped its final nonconference tune up before starting BIG EAST play, falling 11-10 on the road at Loyola. The Hoyas fall to 2-6 on the season while the Greyhounds improve to 5-3.



W. Soccer. Corboz, Schechtman Selected to U.S. U-23 National Team Training Camp

Georgetown University women’s soccer players Rachel Corboz (Green Brook, N.J./Pingry) and Arielle Schechtman (Del Mar, Calif./La Jolla Country Day/UCLA) were selected to participate in a training camp with the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team.



W. Tennis. Women’s Tennis Downs Williams, 5-2

The Georgetown University women's tennis team battled through a five-hour match to pick up the 5-2 victory over Williams College, ranked No. 2 in the nation in Division III, Tuesday afternoon in Washington. With the win, Georgetown improves to 8-3 on the season as the squad moves into BIG EAST Conference play.



W. Volleyball. Volleyball Begins Spring Play This Weekend

WASHINGTON -- Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team hits the road on Wednesday to face No. 17/18 Loyola (Md.) for a final nonconference tune-up before beginning BIG EAST play on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m., with Ben Holden calling the play-by-play and Sheehan Stanwick Burch providing the color commentary.

The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad (3-5) will travel to Baltimore, Md., to take on the Loyola University (Md.) Greyhounds (1-6) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Additionally, on Tuesday, senior captains Kate Snouffer (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) and Jenny Schwalje (Setauket, N.Y./St. Anthony’s) were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for their efforts the week prior.

W. Golf. Shaking the Rust off to Start the Spring Season

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University freshman Jake Carraway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary’s) earned his second-straight BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Freshman of the Week honor, as announced by the league office on Monday. He scored three goals for his second-consecutive hat trick in a 12-7 loss to then-No. 12/13 Duke on Saturday.

The Georgetown University softball team split a pair of games at the Lafayette Ford Lincoln of Fayetteville Showcase on Sunday to move to 7-17 on the year. The Hoyas knocked off St. Bonaventure by a score of 13-8 in the opener before falling to host UNC-Wilmington, 4-1.

The Georgetown University baseball team overcame a two-run deficit to capture the series finale over Gardner-Webb University, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at John H. Moss Stadium. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 12-8 overall, while the Runnin’ Bulldogs fell to 9-12.
