Change antenna or not?

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 16:03:34 GMT

This issue is more of a challenge than it is a necessity. My wife watches cable and maybe I would suggest cutting the cord if I could get reliable OTA reception. I am in zip code 07922(Northern NJ) which TVfool prints as 23 miles from the primary towers (Empire State Building). Never-the-less,...

No Live TV

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 22:57:51 GMT

My DVR IS WORKING FINE BUT I ONLY GET A BLACK SCREEN WHEN TRYING TO WATCH LIVE TV. Bill is paid and not due for 2 1/2 weeks. Milwaukie Oregon, it’s been pouring rain pretty hard for the last 20 hours or so I think it probably got pretty gusty last night at the dish on the roof looks like it always...

can any internet wizards help me with/comcast

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 18:14:49 GMT

Here's the deal...I pay $60/month for 25-30 internet and home phone. The last three months, I couldn't get a deal so it's $95. For $2 more, I can get the up to 200 so I bought it. I just swapped to their latest modem in June, so their hardware is not the issue. My net went from that 25-30 to around...

Fortnite Battle Royale

Sat, 14 Oct 2017 19:24:40 GMT

Anyone into these BR type games? Fortnite BR is a free to play game, I never thought this type of game would be my cup of tea and when playing solo, it isn't. However when squading up it is entirely too much fun! From the very beginning it is chaotic as you must choose when to jump from the...

Recommendations for a new TV

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 21:54:15 GMT

Been about 5 years since I have upgraded. I'm looking for 60' or 65', mostly used for gaming and occasionally movies. My budget is between $1000-$2000, but if it would make a huge difference in quality, $3000 wouldn't be out of the question. No idea where to start in terms of what brands are best...

Problems with Phillips 4K tv and PC

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 02:41:48 GMT

Hello guys, I recently got the Phillips 43PUS6162, and I can't seem to get 4K with my computer. Every time I change the resolution, I get some weird bars/artifacts in the display. I've been thinking that maybe I'll need to buy a newer HDMI cable. What's your opinion?

Panny TH-50PH9UK

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 21:30:42 GMT

Job let us keep this old tv due to buying new LGs. I understand it's not a consumer tv, I get that, but hey it was free. Questions on what type of speakers to use since everything for this product has been discontinued and there is none built in. Looking for something good/cheap just so I can hear...

Left Dish after 13 years

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 19:37:06 GMT

During the summer I upgraded from the original Hopper to the Hopper 3. As soon as it was installed I noticed that the 4X fast forward option was gone, and 15X fast forward was now the slowest FF option. For 13 years I used the 4X FF function to watch 3 hour baseball games in about 25 minutes. It...

Dish DVR List Format

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 14:54:57 GMT

Does anyone know if Dish plans to provide a list format for DVR recordings? The pictorial format is difficult to read and often does not contain enough descriptive info to identify a particular recording

screen sizing issues

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 20:24:37 GMT

Good afternoon all. I recently acquired an older Samsung plasma tv. Model # is: Samsung PN50a550s1fxza I'm using Spectrum Cable. My issue is that the left side of the spectrum screen doesn't appear in the screen, when I click on the Guide/Menu buttons. I.e., the channel #'s, and the "My...

SD duplicates Issue

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 19:03:34 GMT

I noticed this week that even though I have selected Hide SD Duplicates in my settings, some of them (e.g., channels 287, 258) still show both. It’s no big deal but I’m curious why this is happening.

Any minimalist here?

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 11:53:34 GMT

I hate clutter so I don't buy too many things that will fill my house. I only by the ones that I ultimately need to live well and comfortable. This is due to the fact that I don't feel well with too much clutter. Anyone out there that understands my sentiment?
