M. Tennis. WCC Announces Preseason Poll

On Wednesday the West Coast Conference released their Men's Tennis Preseason Poll for 2017. The Toreros took the No. 2 spot behind Pepperdine. Also announced was the All-WCC Preseason Men's Tennis Team. On it is San Diego's Filip Vittek.



W. Basketball. USD Hosts LMU, Travels to USF This Week

The University of San Diego women's basketball team (8-8, 2-4 WCC) will return to the friendly confines of the Jenny Craig Pavilion this week to host the Loyola Marymount University Lions on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Toreros will then hit the road on Saturday, as they head up to the Bay Area to take on the Dons of the University of San Francisco in a 2 p.m. WCC game at War Memorial Gym. Both games will carry a live video stream on TheW.tv.



M. Basketball. Toreros play at LMU on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Football. Hodges named an Amateur Star of the Year

Record books across the country took a beating from a quartet of college standouts who call San Diego home. USD’s Jonah Hodges, along with Donnel Pumphrey (SDSU), Kelsey Plum (UW) and Calvin Munson (SDSU) will be honored as Amateur Stars of the Year at the 71st Salute to the Champions on Feb. 21 at the Town & Country Resort and Convention Center.



M. Tennis. Toreros Win First Dual of the Season

USD men's tennis hosted their season opener dual against Utah State University (USU) Sunday afternoon. The Toreros dominated the courts with a 6-1 victory over the Aggies.



W. Tennis. San Diego Performs Strong in Second Day of Springs Invite

On Sunday the USD women's tennis team competed in the second day of the Springs Collegiate Invite in Palm Springs, California. The women won four of the seven matches they competed in against the University of Texas and Arizona.

The NFL Players Association is proud to announce the next set of player commitments to the 2017 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Joining the National and American team rosters is Torero defensive back Jamal Agnew, along with four other outstanding collegiate players.

The USD Toreros turned in an outstanding effort tonight in dealing the visiting BYU Cougars an 88-75 loss before 2,206 fans at the JCP. The Toreros, who had dropped close home contests their last two times out, were at their best down the stretch tonight in closing out the win.



W. Tennis. Toreros Compete in the Springs Collegiate Invite

On Saturday the USD women's tennis team began play at the Springs Collegiate Invite in Palm Springs, California. The tournament was scheduled to begin Friday, but due to weather conditions Friday's matches were cancelled.



W. Basketball. Ward-El Nets 26, but Toreros Fall to BYU

Junior guard Aubrey Ward-El scored a career-high 26 points, but it wasn't enough, as the University of San Diego women's basketball team dropped a 81-63 decision to league-leading Brigham Young University Saturday afternoon in a West Coast Conference game at the Marriott Center.



W. Swimming. Toreros Edged by Fresno State 136-127

Alex Hubel, a UCLA transfer led the Toreros with three first place finishes. She earned the Toreros nine points in the 100 fly (57.04), 200 free (1:52.70) and the 200 fly (2:05.36).

The USD Toreros (8-9, 1-4 WCC) return to the Jenny Craig Pavilion this Saturday, Jan. 14th, to take on the BYU Cougars (13-5, 4-1). Tip-off is slated for 7:05 pm.This is the 15th meeting between USD and BYU with the Cougars owning an 11-3 series lead, and a 3-game winning streak.



M. Basketball. Toreros downed by SCU Broncos 59-57

The USD Toreros dropped a 59-57 heartbreaker to the visiting Santa Clara Broncos before 1,435 fans that included 450 recruits from the Marine Corp Recruiting Depot in San Diego. Brett Bailey led the Toreros with 15 points and 9 rebounds, but his put-back bucket for an eventual overtime period was a split second too late at the end of the game.



W. Basketball. Toreros Edge Santa Clara, 57-56
