Sophomore guard Tyler Williams connected on a 17-foot jumper from the right elbow to give USD a double-overtime 60-58 win over the Santa Clara Broncos. The win snapped a 5-game skid and also avenged USD's home loss to the Broncos by two points at the JCP.

Senior Katherine Hamilton scored with three seconds left to lift the Toreros (12-14, 6-10) to a 60-58 win over Santa Clara on senior day inside the Jenny Craig Pavilion. In a game that had 12 lead changes and where neither team ever led by more than five points, it was fitting that it came down the final seconds.

This beat her Wednesday time by 0.11 seconds and the previous record by 0.64 seconds.

With the City Championships only one week away, The Toreros had a chance to check their top hull speed against UCSD early Thursday morning on Mission Bay. The top eight from USD claimed the competition by winning a majority of the pieces against a deep and talented UCSD squad. The varsity eight, comprised of Connor Olson at the stroke seat, Nick Watson at 7, Owen Chase at 6, Parker Danz at 5, Jack Posthauer at 4, Sam Stephens at 3, Jack Pokalsky at 2 and Konrad Altvater at bow, have only had a few practices together but are coming together well as a crew.
