Irish Softball Returns To The Diamond For Seven Fall Starts

With fall practice in full swing as the calendar rolls over to September, fans will have the chance to catch the University of Notre Dame softball team in action during seven games on the 2017 Irish autumn docket. Notre Dame will also play host to five games at Melissa Cook Stadium as part of its fall slate.

Bazos, Greece Finish Top 6 In European Championship

It was a successful week for University of Notre Dame sophomore outfielder Alexis Bazos and the Greece National Team at the 2017 Women’s Softball European Championship. For just the second time in a tournament that dates back to 1979, the Greek squad cracked the final six teams in Europe with a sixth-place finish out of 23 entries in Bollate, Italy.

Five members of the 2017 University of Notre Dame softball team have been recognized for outstanding academic and athletic achievement on Thursday, with each named to the all-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Team. Graduated seniors Rachel Nasland, Kimmy Sullivan and Karley Wester, along with rising senior Katie Beriont and rising sophomore Katie Marino, were Notre Dame representatives on the annual conference all-academic squad.
