Squier Scatters Four Hits In Sunday's Setback

The UNLV baseball team (10-16 overall, 5-7 MW) was handed a 7-3 setback to the New Mexico Lobos (15-9, 9-0 MW) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium Sunday afternoon. The Rebels fell behind by three after the first inning of play and were never able to recover from the early deficit despite outhitting the Lobos 13-7 in the contest.



Rebels, Lobos Play Tight Affair Saturday Night

The UNLV baseball team (10-15 overall, 5-6 MW) lost a 4-2 decision to the New Mexico Lobos (14-9, 8-0 MW) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium Saturday night. The Rebels led the Mountain West affair 2-1 after three innings; however, single tallies scored in the fifth, sixth and seventh allowed the Lobos to overcome their deficit en route to the two-run victory.



Rebels Roughed Up At Home In Series Opener

The UNLV baseball team (10-14 overall, 5-5 MW) suffered a 29-8 defeat to the New Mexico Lobos (13-9, 7-0 MW) Friday night the in first game of their Mountain West series at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The game was tied at 1-all after the opening inning, but it quickly swung in the Lobos’ favor when their offense erupted for 14 runs between the second and third.

The Red Raiders scored all five of their runs through the first five innings of action while the Rebels pushed across single tallies in the sixth and seventh en route to the three-run decision.

The UNLV baseball team (10-11) continues its five-game road trip with a midweek series in Lubbock, Texas, against the No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Rebels and Red Raiders, who were ranked No. 22 at the time, squared off twice in Las Vegas last year (March 28-29), and each came away with a victory - UNLV won game one, 8-5, but lost game two, 14-6.

The UNLV baseball team (10-11, 5-4 MW) lost the third and final game of the weekend, Mountain West series contested at Tony Gwynn Stadium Sunday to the San Diego State Aztecs (13-7, 4-2 MW). The Rebels pushed out to an early one-run lead after one inning; however, the host Aztecs flipped things in their favor with three runs in the second and two more in the third. SDSU outdistanced itself from UNLV with a seven-run outburst in the sixth.

The Rebels scored three runs in their first at-bat and added two more in the fourth while the pitching staff limited the Aztecs to three runs off of eight hits.
