UNLV baseball's Fall World Series came to a close Friday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium when Thing 2 held on for a come-from-behind, 7-6 win over Thing 1. Thing 2 fell behind by five runs after 1.5 innings of play before it used three solo home runs and a three-run triple to turn the scoreboard in its favor, as it salvaged the final game of the three-game intrasquad set.



Thing 1's Big Inning Secures Series Win

Thing 1 used a seven-run outburst for the second time in as many games to distance itself from Thing 2 en route to a 9-2 victory in game two of UNLV baseball’s Fall World Series held at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. With the score tied at 1-all entering the home half of the fourth, Thing 1 broke the game open with three straight run-scoring hits after its first two batters had reached base safely.



Rebels Sign 11 During Fall Period

The UNLV baseball program has received signed national letters of intent from 11 student-athletes -- Troy Balko, James Gamble, Jacob Godman, Chase Hanson, Ryan McDonald, Jake McLean, Isaiah Montoya, Duke Pahukoa, Austin Pfeifer, Ty Pohlmann and Edarian Williams -- who will enroll at the University and be eligible to play for the Rebels beginning in the fall of 2018, head coach Stan Stolte announced Wednesday.



Thing 1 Wins Fall World Series Opener

The UNLV baseball team’s first game of its Fall World Series was a defensive affair that was dominated by pitching until Thing 1’s bats awoke in the top of the fifth inning for a seven-run outburst. By virtue of its one inning offensive, Thing 1 knocked off Thing 2, 7-2, to stake itself to an early 1-0 lead in the three-game set played at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.



Rebels Hold Annual World Series This Week

The UNLV baseball team, which is fresh off Saturday’s 10-1 win over its alumni, will hold its annual World Series at Earl E. Wilson Stadium this week. The three-game set will begin Monday and continue Thursday and Friday. First pitch slated is for 9:20 am each day, and fans are encouraged to attend and admission is free.



Rebels Defeat Alumni In Yearly Contest

The UNLV baseball team claimed a 10-1 victory in 6.5 innings over Rebel alumni Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The squad comprised of those that once donned the Scarlet & Gray went ahead 1-0 after its at-bat in the second inning; however, Austin Anderson powered the 2018 edition's comeback with an RBI double in the home half of the second as well as a three-run home run in the third.

Rebels Rally To Knock Off Titans In Exhibition

The UNLV baseball team overcame a two-run deficit with five unanswered runs to defeat the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 5-4, Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Field. All five of the Rebels' runs came between the sixth and eighth innings, and the outburst was capped by three tallies in the eighth inning off a solo home run from Nick Ames and a two-run shot from Max Smith.

UNLV Baseball will travel to Southern California for an exhibition game Saturday at Goodwin Field against the Cal State Fullerton Titans. The two sides, which are in the midst of fall practice, will play 14 innings.



Rebel Baseball Announces 2018 Schedule

The UNLV baseball team will play a total of 55 regular-season games, 30 of which will take place at Earl E. Wilson Stadium, announced third-year head coach Stan Stolte. In all, the Rebels will play 30 contests against Mountain West competition and 25 more against nonconference foes from seven different conferences.
