After opening the season with three wins during a three-game homestand, the UNLV men's basketball team will head over to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip this week for the heavyweight rounds of the MGM Resorts Main Event tournament. The Runnin' Rebels will face Rice on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena.

The UNLV volleyball team lost a heartbreaker to the Air Force Falcons in Mountain West play Saturday afternoon at the Cox Pavilion. The Rebels (8-22, 4-13 MW) jumped out to a 2-0 lead only to see the Falcons (14-18, 7-11 MW) claw their way back into the contest with third- and fourth-set wins. UNLV reclaimed the momentum in the fifth and final set en route to a set- and match-point opportunity (15-14); however, Air Force managed to claim the final three points to cap the 3-2 comeback behind set scores of 22-25, 19-25, 26-24, 25-20, 17-15.

UNLV baseball's Fall World Series came to a close Friday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium when Thing 2 held on for a come-from-behind, 7-6 win over Thing 1. Thing 2 fell behind by five runs after 1.5 innings of play before it used three solo home runs and a three-run triple to turn the scoreboard in its favor, as it salvaged the final game of the three-game intrasquad set.

Bryce Hamilton, a 6-foot-4-inch guard from Pasadena, California, and Trey Woodbury, a 6-foot-4-inch guard from Las Vegas, Nevada, have both signed national letters of intent during the early signing period and will join the UNLV men's basketball program for the 2018-19 season, head coach Marvin Menzies announced Friday.

Thing 1 used a seven-run outburst for the second time in as many games to distance itself from Thing 2 en route to a 9-2 victory in game two of UNLV baseball’s Fall World Series held at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. With the score tied at 1-all entering the home half of the fourth, Thing 1 broke the game open with three straight run-scoring hits after its first two batters had reached base safely.
