If you look at the box score, or witnessed the action live at Negoesco Field, you will come to the same conclusion: UC Davis dominated Sunday's non-conference match. Not only did the Aggies out-shoot San Francisco 14-11, and recorded six shots on goal compared to their opponent's two, they earned all but one of the nine corners taken throughout the afternoon. However, it was the Dons' who scored early, and withstood one UC Davis scoring opportunity after another for more than 80 minutes to secure a 1-0 win over the Aggies.

Pacific may have struck first when Loren Landrus scored the afternoon's first goal in the 47th minute, but it was UC Davis that owned the remaining 43 minutes in Friday's non-conference match at Aggie Soccer Field, a block of time that included goals from Crystal Crump, who scored the equalizer in the 58th minute, and Nicole Carson's first goal as an Aggie, a game-winner recorded in the 80th minute that lifted UC Davis to a 2-1 victory.

Two days later, women’s soccer will face its first ranked team of the season when the Aggies head down I-80 to visit Berkeley Sunday afternoon. Kickoff for that match at Cal is slated for 1 p.m.

UC Davis dominated Fresno State in almost every facet of Sunday's game at Aggie Soccer Field, recorded twice as many shots as the Bulldogs (18-9), nearly three times as many shots on goal (11-4), two times as many corners (6-3) and forced their opponents to make 11 saves, including a few point-blank attempts that somehow did not find the back of the net. But a Fresno State counterattack, which took place in the 89th minute, ultimately led to the game-winning goal, and the Aggies dropped their non-conference match by a 1-0 score.
