UC Davis junior Paige Virgil captured her second Big West Conference Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week award in as many months, it was announced the league office Wednesday. The utility from Murrieta, California, previously won the honor on February 15.

Junior forward Chima Moneke, the Big West Conference’s Newcomer of the Year and Tournament Most Valuable Player added another award to this season’s haul after the National Association of Basketball Coaches selected him as an All-District recipient after revealing it list of selections on Wednesday.

In the midst of final exams, the UC Davis women’s basketball team’s “sweet” run through the 2017 Women’s National Invitation Tournament bracket continues this week as the Aggies (25-7 overall) -- one of 32 women’s basketball programs still playing this season -- head back out on the road to Pullman, Wash., to take on Washington State -- their second Pac-12 opponent of this postseason -- on Thursday (March 23) at 7 p.m.

W. Gymnastics. Aggie trio earns NCAA postseason berths

Softball. Aggies rout Princeton to win seventh straight

With the win, UC Davis will enter its March 31 Big West opener at Hawai’i riding a seven-game win streak, a Division I-era high. By sweeping its six games played throughout the weekend, the Aggies will enter their 12-day hiatus (due to the school’s upcoming finals week), with a 15-17 record.

Track. Aggie T&F teams soar in two different states

UC Davis sophomore Erinn Beattie cleared her second attempt of 1.76 meters, or 5 feet, 9.25 inches in imperial units, to tie her own school record and win the women’s high jump at the Hornet Invitational outdoor track & field meet. She first hit that mark at the same venue, in last year’s 2016 Mondo Invitational almost one year ago.

Fresh off the first postseason victory in the program's Division I history, the UC Davis women's basketball team (24-7 overall) continues its postseason run this weekend, heading to Fort Collins, Colo., to take on Colorado State in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament on Sunday (March 19) at Moby Arena.
