Attackman Dave Little broke a 74-year old school record with nine goals, while Brady Dove tied a school record with 21 faceoff wins to lead the Navy men’s lacrosse team (4-6, 2-3 Patriot League) to a 14-9 victory over visiting Lehigh (4-4, 2-3 PL) Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Coming off an 11-6 victory over Dartmouth on Tuesday evening, Navy returns to Patriot League action on Saturday when it plays host to Lehigh. Faceoff is set for 11:30 am at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Mids, who enter the game 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the Patriot League, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 4-3 Mountain Hawks are under the direction of 10th-year head coach Kevin Cassese. Saturday’s contest marks the 37th meeting in a series that dates back to 1910.

After playing three straight games on the road, Navy returns home to play host to Dartmouth on Tuesday evening. Faceoff is set for 7:00 pm at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Mids, who enter the game 2-6 overall, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 1-4 Big Green are under the direction of third-year head coach Brendan Callahan. Tuesday’s contest marks the 14th meeting in a series that dates back to 1937. It is, however, the first time the two have met since 1977.



Mids Unable to Tame Loyola’s High-Powered Offense

All-American and Tewaaraton Award nominee Pat Spencer scored three goals and added four assists to lead the 17th-ranked Loyola men’s lacrosse team (4-3, 3-0 Patriot League) to an 18-7 victory over Navy (2-6, 1-3 PL) Saturday afternoon at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Loyola is the fifth team Navy has lost to this season that currently resides among the nation’s top 20.

The Mids, who enter the game 2-5 overall and 1-2 in Patriot League action, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 3-3 Greyhounds are under the direction of 12th-year head coach Charley Toomey. Saturday's contest marks the 10th meeting in the series and the fourth since Loyola joined the Patriot League in 2014.



Mids’ Comeback Bid Falls Short at Lafayette

Following a tough two-goal loss to 10th-ranked Penn on Tuesday, Navy returns to Patriot League play when it travels to Easton, Pa. to battle Lafayette on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 1:00 pm at Fisher Stadium. The Mids, who enter the game 2-4 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League action, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 0-5 Leopards are under the direction of fifth-year head coach Jim Rogalski. Saturday’s contest marks the 19th meeting in a series that dates back to 1926.



Navy Men’s Lax Drops 11-9 Decision to #10 Penn on the Road

The 10th-ranked Penn men’s lacrosse team (3-1) scored the final three goals of the game to earn an 11-9 victory over the Mids (2-4) Tuesday afternoon at Ace Adams Field in Philadelphia. The lead changed hands four times over the course of 60 minutes before the Quakers took the lead for good at the 8:41 mark in the fourth quarter.



Navy and Penn to Meet for First Time Since 2004

The Navy men's lacrosse team will play its first of three consecutive road games when it travels to Philadelphia on Tuesday to face #10 Penn. Action is slated for 4:00 pm at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field which is part of Penn Park athletics complex. Note this is not the traditional home field (Franklin Field) in which the Quakers normally play The Mids, who enter the game 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League action, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 2-1 Quakers are under the direction of eighth-year head coach Mike Murphy. Tuesday's contest marks the 53rd meeting in a series that dates back to 1914.



Navy Lax Bounces Back with 13-7 Win Over Bucknell

With the loss of All-American midfielder Casey Rees to a knee injury in November and most recently attackman Jack Ray with a foot injury, Navy men's lacrosse coach Rick Sowell has called his offense a work in progress. On Saturday, Navy's starting offensive unit looked like a veteran group as it combined for 20 points (11G, 2A) en route to leading the Midshipmen (2-3 / 1-1 Patriot League) to a 13-6 victory over Bucknell (2-3 / 0-2 PL) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Looking to bounce back after dropping an 8-7 decision to Boston University in its Patriot League opener last weekend, Navy will play host to Bucknell on Saturday in the second game of a men’s and women’s doubleheader. The Navy women will kick things off against Boston College at 12-Noon before the men takes on Bucknell at 2:30 PM. The Mids, who enter the game 1-3 overall and 0-1 in Patriot League action, are led by sixth-year head coach Rick Sowell, while the 2-2 Bison are under the direction of 12th-year head coach Frank Fedorjaka. Saturday’s contest marks the 17th meeting in a series that is locked up at 8-8.



Navy-Bucknell Men’s Lax Game Time Bumped to 3:00 PM

Saturday’s Navy vs. Bucknell men’s lacrosse game has been pushed back a half hour and will now start at 3:00 pm. Part of a men’s and women’s doubleheader, the Navy women will play host to Boston College beginning at 12-Noon followed by the men’s game. A free live video stream will be available for both games on PatriotLeague.tv, while live stats can be followed on NavyStats.com(.) Additionally, 1430 AM / 99.9 FM WNAV will air the men’s game beginning at 2:45 with the Navy Men’s Lacrosse Pregame Show with Pete Medhurst and Joe Miller calling the action.



Boston University Upsets #18 Mids in League Opener

The Boston University lacrosse team (4-0, 1-0 Patriot League) scored the final three goals of the game, including the game-winner by junior attackman Jack Wilson with 1.5 seconds left, to upset the 18th-ranked Midshipmen (1-3, 0-1 PL) Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. It’s the second straight year the game has been decided by one goal as the Terriers dealt the Mids a 10-9 loss in double overtime a year ago in Boston.
