One of 43 gymnasts from across the nation at the prestigious event, Tang was vying for a spot on the 2017 U.S. National Team. At the conclusion of Saturday's finals, Tang finished 22nd overall with a two-day total of 154.00 points.

Tang was one of 24 gymnasts to qualify via their all-around scores.

The annual event invites the best gymnasts in the United States to compete for one of 15 spots on the U.S. National Team for its upcoming season of competition. In total, 82 gymnasts from the youth, club, collegiate and Olympic ranks were invited to Las Vegas for the event. Competing in session one versus 38 all-around gymnasts, Tang placed fifth overall with 77.55 points.

Competing at the Alamo Gymnastics Center at the Mission Concepcion Sports Complex as part of the 2017 San Antonio Gymnastics Invitational, the Mids and Falcons went head-to-head after the Army Black Knights were unable to make the trip due to travel issues from New York. After an early lead by Navy in the floor exercise, three straight event wins by Air Force put the Falcons in front on their way to victory.

Currently ranked ninth, 12th and 13th respectively in the latest NCAA standings, the three squads will meet up in San Antonio as part of the three-day San Antonio Gymnastics Invitational. The Mission Concepcion Sports Complex will play host to the competition that is slated to begin at 2:00 pm ET (1:00 pm-CT).

Coming into the annual meet separated by one spot in the national standings and 6.38 points in their respective season averages, the action promised to be tight and the spectators at Army’s Gross Center were treated to such an event as the No. 13 Black Knights defeated the No. 12 Mids by a final score of 405.85-402.8.

The No. 13 Mids (6-4) jumped out to a 6.45-point lead over the No. 15 Tribe (2-2) after the floor exercise and pommel horse rotations to build themselves up an advantage that they would hold over the entire contest for a final of 409.4-401.3. Navy's floor exercise, pommel horse, rings and high bar lineups all out-pointed William & Mary and Midshipmen gymnasts finished first in four of the six events.
