Sun, 25 Sep 2016 23:28:00 EDTThe fall season for the Navy rowing program kicked off on Sunday as both the heavyweight and lightweight teams from Hubbard Hall were in action at the 36th edition of the Head of the Potomac. The Mids had 17 entries racing across the Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four events on the 2.8-mile course on the Potomac River. Led by a victory in the Open Eight race, Navy’s two teams combined for eight top-five results on Sunday.
Fri, 23 Sep 2016 14:31:00 EDTThe Navy heavyweight and lightweight rowing squads will begin their respective fall meet schedules with racing at the 2016 Head of the Potomac event on Sunday, Sept 25. The 36th installment of the regional racing competition will see Navy entrants in three different races, the Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four. The Club Eight starts the day at 10:35 a.m. before the Open Eight goes off at 12:25 p.m. The Open Four race completes the single-file head rowing action at 2:00 p.m. Between the two Hubbard Hall squads, Navy will be represented with 17 boats in the event.
Fri, 08 Jul 2016 09:57:00 EDTThe Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Board of Stewards announced recently that 14 members of the Navy heavyweight rowing team were named to the organization’s fourth-annual All-Academic Team. Recent graduates Michael Hamp, Tim Tracey, Alejandro Fernandez, Chris Lent and Christian Mellos, and rising senior Scott Gibson led the group of 14 honorees as they each have garnered the accolade multiple times.
