Five Navy Crews Compete at 52nd Head of the Charles Regatta

All three teams of the Hubbard Hall rowing family were in action this weekend at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. Racing versus a talented and deep field of collegiate, international and club teams, the Navy heavyweight, lightweight and women squads had five boats racing on the Charles River in four different events over Saturday and Sunday. Top-10 results by the heavyweight’s second varsity eight boat in the Men’s Club Eight race on Saturday and the first lightweight varsity eight team in the Lightweight Championship Eight race on Sunday led Navy’s combined effort.

52nd Annual Head of the Charles Awaits Navy Rowing

Watch | HOCR Website | The three crew programs from Hubbard Hall will take to the Charles River this weekend for competition at the prestigious Head of the Charles River. The 52nd installment of the event that brings participants from across the world will see five Midshipmen boats race on the three-mile stretch of water in Boston. Junior varsity crews from the heavyweight and lightweight programs will begin the action for Navy on Saturday before three more crews take to the Charles River on Sunday.

Navy Rowing Races to Pair of Wins at Annual Navy Day Regatta

In the first combined event of the fall season for all three Navy rowing programs, 25 different crews of Midshipmen saw action on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia as part of the 2016 Navy Day Regatta on Saturday. Across eight different events, Navy came away with 12 top-three results, including a pair of victories from its plebe ranks. The women's novice eight won its respective race, while the lightweight freshmen four conquered the Schuylkill River course in first place of the men's collegiate freshmen/novice four.

Navy Day Regatta Info | All three rowing teams from Navy's Hubbard Hall will be in action this Saturday at the 2016 Navy Day Regatta. Hosted by Saint Joseph's University and held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, the Mids will have a total of 25 entries from its heavyweight, lightweight and women's program competing over eight different races during the day.

Fall Season for Navy Rowing Started on Sunday at Head of the Potomac

The fall season for the Navy rowing program kicked off on Sunday as both the heavyweight and lightweight teams from Hubbard Hall were in action at the 36th edition of the Head of the Potomac. The Mids had 17 entries racing across the Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four events on the 2.8-mile course on the Potomac River. Led by a victory in the Open Eight race, Navy's two teams combined for eight top-five results on Sunday.

Navy Rowing Starts Fall Competition at Head of the Potomac

The Navy heavyweight and lightweight rowing squads will begin their respective fall meet schedules with racing at the 2016 Head of the Potomac event on Sunday, Sept 25. The 36th installment of the regional racing competition will see Navy entrants in three different races, the Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four. The Club Eight starts the day at 10:35 a.m. before the Open Eight goes off at 12:25 p.m. The Open Four race completes the single-file head rowing action at 2:00 p.m. Between the two Hubbard Hall squads, Navy will be represented with 17 boats in the event.
