Navy Rowing Wins Seven Events at Navy Day Regatta

In a combined event for Navy's heavyweight, lightweight and women's rowing teams on Saturday, the Midshipmen came away with seven event victories at the 2017 Navy Day Regatta. Racing on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia in the annual day-long competition that began in 1986, the Mids had 31 entries across 10 separate events. The heavyweight and lightweight programs each won three events, while the women's team earned a win in the freshmen eight race.



31 Midshipmen Boats Entered for Racing at Navy Day Regatta

The entire fleet of Navy’s Hubbard Hall rowing teams will be in action this Saturday with all-day competition at the 2017 Navy Day Regatta. Hosted by Saint Joseph’s University and held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, the Mids will have 31 boats from its heavyweight, lightweight and women’s ranks rowing over 4,000 meters in head racing. The first of the Mids’ nine events on Saturday starts at 9:46 a.m. with a pair of heavyweight boats in the men’s collegiate four race.



Navy Crew Collects Pair of Wins at Head of the Potomac

The fall season began for the Navy rowing program on Sunday with the heavyweight and lightweight teams entering and racing 18 boats in the 37th edition of the Head of the Potomac event in Washington, D.C. The Hubbard Hall contingent competed in Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four races on the 2.8-mile course on the Potomac River and came away with a pair of wins and eight top-three results across the three events. Navy ‘A’ won the Open Eight race, while the Navy ‘F’ boat took the Open Four to highlight Navy’s effort on Sunday.



Crew Starts Fall Slate on Sunday at Head of the Potomac

The Navy heavyweight and lightweight rowing squads will begin their respective fall meet schedules with racing at the 2017 Head of the Potomac event on Sunday, Sept 24. The 37th installment of the regional racing competition will see Navy entrants in three different races, the Club Eight, Open Eight and Open Four. The Club Eight starts the day at 10:10 a.m. before the Open Eight goes off at 12:10 p.m. The Open Four race completes the single-file head rowing action at 1:45 p.m. Between the two Hubbard Hall squads, Navy will be represented with 18 boats in the event.
