The No. 15 Navy heavyweight crew program hit the road on Saturday for EARC league action versus No. 11 Cornell and No. 13 Syracuse at the Onondaga Lake Outlet in Syracuse. The Goes Trophy was on the line for the first varsity eight race, while the Stagg Trophy would be going home with the highest scoring team. Unfortunately for the Mids on Saturday, the Big Red went home with the Goes hardware, while the Orange took control of the Stagg Trophy. Navy placed first in the fourth varsity eight race and second in the third varsity competition to highlight the team's performance.

Coming off of a strong showing at the George Washington Invitational this past weekend, the No. 15 Navy heavyweight crew team will be back in league action in Syracuse, N.Y. on Saturday for the 2018 Goes Trophy competition. The Mids will be tasked with taking on the host No. 13 Orange and No. 11 Cornell Big Red over a four-race slate at Onondaga Lake Outlet beginning at 8 a.m.

The Navy heavyweight rowing program wrapped up a perfect weekend of action at the George Washington Invitational with a clean sweep of five varsity races on Saturday. The Mids dominated their competition on the 2,000-meter course on the Potomac River as four of the team's boats earned victories of five or more seconds.

The No. 18 Navy heavyweight rowing team opened the first day of competition at the George Washington Invitational with an emphatic 5-0 performance as the Mids swept all five events that they raced in on Friday. Taking on crews from No. 16 Georgetown, R/V Drexel and Michigan, Navy won the first through fifth varsity races on the 2,000-meter Potomac River course.

The No. 18 Navy heavyweight crew program will have an action-packed weekend of racing ahead as the Mids will test themselves with two days of competition at the 30th George Washington Invitational in Washington D.C. Racing in multi-team events, the Mids will face off with No. 16 Georgetown and Michigan beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon before turning their attention to R/V Drexel and R/V Holy Cross on Saturday starting at 8:40 a.m. All of the competitions will be hosted by George Washington University and contested on the Potomac River.

The No. 18 Navy heavyweight rowing program opened its 2018 home slate on Saturday with five races against No. 3 Princeton. Racing on a 2,000-meter course on the Severn River, the Tigers held off the Mids in first, second, third, fourth and fifth varsity action.

One week after opening its 2018 campaign in California at the San Diego Classic, the Navy heavyweight crew team will turn its attention to home head-to-head action with a meet versus Princeton on Saturday morning. Starting at 7:20 a.m. on the Severn River, the Mids and Tigers will compete in a five-race schedule with the premier first varsity Navy-Princeton Cup event going off first.

Taking on a talented nationally-based field this weekend, the No. 16 Navy heavyweight rowing program challenged its first and second varsity eight crews over five combined races at the 45th Annual San Diego Classic. In its first competition of the 2018 spring season, the first varsity crew raced in head-to-head events versus No. 2 California and No. 14 Stanford on Saturday before coming back on Sunday in the grand final. The second varsity boat raced in both heat and grand final events.

The Navy heavyweight rowing program will kick off the spring portion of its schedule on the West Coast this weekend with two days of racing at the 45th Annual San Diego Classic. Racing on Crown Point Shores in Mission Bay, the Mids will have entered its varsity and junior varsity eight crews in action versus a host of national opponents. The first varsity will compete in head-to-head races on Saturday before moving onto the Copley Cup grand final on Sunday. The second varsity crew will be in heat action on Saturday before racing in the finals on Sunday. This is the first time since 2015 that the Mids will be competing at the San Diego Classic.

Over this past weekend, Andrew Knoll (Greenback, Tenn.) a sophomore on the Navy heavyweight crew team competed in the World Rowing Indoor Championships in Alexandria, Va. Racing versus an international field in the Under-23 Men's 2000-meter event, Knoll finished in first place to claim the world title in that U-23 division. Knoll completed his 2000-meter erg piece with a personal-best time of 5:56.1.
