M. Lacrosse. Kern Earns Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week Laurels

Just three games into his career, Navy goalkeeper Ryan Kern is making quite a name for himself. He became just the third Navy freshman to start a season-opener in goal and the first since Mickey Jarboe in 1997 when he made his debut on Feb. 7 against eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins. On Monday, he became Navy’s first freshman goalkeeper to earn Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors following a stellar performance in front of a hometown crowd Saturday at Delaware.

A well-balanced effort and depth from both track and field athletes helped lead the Navy men's track and field team to its fifth consecutive Patriot League Indoor Championship title on Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Navy head coach Stephen Cooksey was named the Patriot League Indoor Coach of the Meet for the fifth-straight and ninth time in his career.



W. Track. Women’s Track and Field Places Third at the Patriot League Championship

Sitting in fifth with two relay races remaining, Navy’s 4x400-meter and distance medley relay teams both finished second to launch the Navy women’s track and field team to a third place overall finish at the Patriot League Championship on Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Navy’s third place finish is its best finish since finishing second in 2013.



M. Gymnastics. Tang Finishes 22nd in All-Around at Winter Cup Challenge

Jonny Tang of the Navy gymnastics team wrapped up competing at the 2017 USA Gymnastics Winter Cup Challenge on Saturday night in Las Vegas. One of 43 gymnasts from across the nation at the prestigious event, Tang was vying for a spot on the 2017 U.S. National Team. At the conclusion of Saturday's finals, Tang finished 22nd overall with a two-day total of 154.00 points.



Baseball. Navy Defeats North Carolina Central, 9-6

The Navy baseball team closed its series at North Carolina Central on Sunday with a 9-6 victory at Historic Durham Athletic Park. The Mids (1-2) used strong production throughout the top of its lineup to net 12 hits and six RBIs, and solid relief pitching that tossed 4.1 innings of one-run action to earn the win over the Eagles (2-1).



Wrestling. Navy Wrestlers Fall Short Against Black Knights

Despite a pair of bonus point wins by juniors Corey Wilding and Michael Coleman that gave Navy a one-point advantage late in the match, Army West Point won the final two bouts to defeat the Navy wrestling team, 19-14, in the annual Star Match held Sunday afternoon at Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y.
