Swimming Finishes Seventh at MAAC Championships

Siena Swimming wrapped up its season Saturday with the final day of the 2017 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships. The Saints finished the four-day meet in seventh place. Marist won the title with 810 total points. Emma Rupert, Erica Askew, and Elizabeth Fournier had top eight finishes for the Saints.

Siena Swimming remained in seventh place on Friday at the MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships. Through 14 women’s events, the Saints have collected 186 points. Sophomore Emma Rupert led Siena with her sixth place finish in the 1000 freestyle.

Siena Swimming currently sits in fifth place after the first two events of the 2017 MAAC Championships. Marist ranks as the top women’s team after day one. During the meet, 14 Siena swimmers were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Siena Swimming will dive into the 2017 MAAC Championships on Wednesday in Buffalo, N.Y. The meet is being held at the Burt Flickinger Pool at Erie Community College on February 8-11. Siena finished fifth in the meet in 2016.

Swimming Awarded CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Honors

The Siena Swimming and Diving program was recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America team for the fall 2016 semester. The CSCAA recognizes teams with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher each semester. Siena possesses an impressive cumulative team GPA of 3.56 following the fall semester.

Red Flash Tops Swimming in Final Dual Meet of Season

Siena Swimming competed for the third time in eight days, and final time before the MAAC Championships, on Saturday afternoon in Loretto, PA against Saint Francis (PA). The Red Flash bested the Saints 166-89. Sophomore Emma Rupert led Siena with three second place finishes.

Siena Swimming was back in the pool on Monday afternoon to battle MAAC opponent Fairfield. The Stags bested the Saints in the meet, 142-95. Maggie Fletcher and Fiona Dretzka picked up one individual victory each for Siena.

Pioneers Swim Past Saints on Senior Day

Siena Swimming dropped its final home meet of the season Saturday to the visiting LIU Post Pioneers. Siena honored its five seniors in a special ceremony before the meet. Sophomore Elizabeth Fournier picked up a victory for the Saints in the 200 butterfly.

Siena Swimming will compete in its final home meet of the season on Saturday as the Saints host LIU Post at 1:30 p.m. at Niskayuna High School. The Saints will honor their five seniors in a special ceremony before the meet at 1:15 p.m.

Swim Meet Saturday Moved to Niskayuna

Saturday's Siena Swim meet has been moved from the Siena Swim Center to Niskayuna High School in nearby Niskayuna, NY. The meet will now begin at 1:30 p.m. Siena's five seniors will be recognized just before the meet in a senior day ceremony.

Siena Swimming finished the 2016 ECAC Championships in fourth place. Wagner College took home the women’s title ahead of Long Island University Post.

Siena Swimming moved into fifth place today at the ECAC Championships, totaling 547 points in the first 15 events. Wagner College leads the women's competition with 736 points ahead of tomorrow's final day of competition.

Swimming Opens ECAC Championships

Siena Swimming began its ECAC title defense Friday night in East Meadow, New York. The Saints are currently in sixth place after the first of three days of competition. Day one consisted of one diving and two swimming events. There are a total of 13 schools competing in the women's meet.
