Amorosi and Butts Named May Student Athletes of the Month

Siena baseball captain Chris Amorosi and softball captain Lauren Butts have been selected as Siena College’s Leo Dufort Student Athletes of the Month for May. The pair is being honored for their success both on and off the field.



Cossack Tabbed ECAC All-Star

Siena Softball’s Madysen Cossack has been chosen as a member of the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star Team. The sophomore was voted onto the ECAC Second Team, along with two other MAAC players.

Cossack Selected to NFCA All-Region Team

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 667 student-athletes from 175 programs who received 2017 NFCA Division I All-Region Recognition. MAAC Softball Player of the Year and Siena sophomore Madysen Cossack was named to the Great Lakes Region Third Team. Cossack was one of ten MAAC players named to a team, including two others in the Great Lakes region.

Saints' Season Ends at MAAC Tournament

Siena Softball's season came to an end on Thursday in New Rochelle, New York. The #2 Saints dropped their opening round game to #6 Fairfield 3-0. In the second game of the day, Siena fell 4-3 to Manhattan in an elimination game.

Madysen Cossack Highlights Softball’s All MAAC Selections

Siena Softball’s Madysen Cossack was named the 2017 MAAC Player of the Year at the Awards Show on Wednesday. Cossack was also a member of the All-MAAC First Team along with senior Chelsey Drew. Junior pitcher Lauren Butts was voted onto the All-MAAC Second Team and catcher Amanda Dodson picked up All-Rookie honors. Four Saints also received recognition on the All- Academic Team.

MAAC Tournament Central - #2 Siena vs #4 Manhattan (Thursday 2:35 PM - ESPN 3)

Siena Softball continues its quest for the program's first MAAC Championship on Thursday when they open the 2017 MAAC Tournament in New Rochelle, New York. The #2 seeded Saints will battle #6 Fairfield on Thursday at 9 a.m. to start the double elimination tournament. The Stags defeated #3 Marist 5-3 on Wednesday to advance in the winner's bracket.

Saints Clinch Number Two Seed in MAAC Tournament

Siena Softball wrapped up the regular season on Monday at Niagara. The Saints dropped game one 3-2 to the Purple Eagles, but rebounded with a 3-1 win in the finale to earn the #2 seed in the MAAC Tournament. Siena finished with a 14-6 MAAC record, the most conference wins in a single season in school history. Madysen Cossack led Siena with 4 RBIs in the doubleheader.

Army West Point Sweeps Saints in Home Finale

Siena Softball hosted Army West Point for an afternoon doubleheader on Thursday. The Black Knights triumphed over the Saints 11-1 in five innings in game one. In game two, Army West Point took the win 8-0 in six. Five Saints recorded one hit each in the doubleheader.

New Edition of Saints Alive! Coaches Show Premieres This Week

The second spring edition of the Saints Alive! Coaches Show debuts this week throughout the State of New York on Spectrum Sports. Hosted by Spectrum News Sports Director Marisa Jacques, this week's installment highlights Siena's baseball and softball teams, and features interviews and insight with head coaches Tony Rossi and Bill Lajeunesse, along with student athletes Chris Amorosi and Paige Hess.

Cossack Picks Up Another MAAC Player of the Week Award

Siena Softball’s Madysen Cossack was tabbed the MAAC Player of Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the second weekly award of the season for Cossack and third award of her career. Cossack was also named the MAAC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Saints Sweep Monmouth to Clinch MAAC Tournament Berth

Siena Softball completed its perfect 6-0 week on Sunday with a sweep of MAAC foe Monmouth. The Saints put up a 4-2 victory in game one before completing the sweep with an 11-5 win in the finale. With the two wins, Siena secured a berth in the MAAC Tournament as well as the program's seventh consecutive 20-win season, all under head coach Bill Lajeunesse. The program had just one 20-win season in its first 34 seasons.

Senior Day Sweep

Siena Softball hosted MAAC opponent Rider at Siena Field on Saturday. The team's two seniors were recognized before the doubleheader. The Saints swept the Broncs, taking game one 8-0 in five innings and picking up a 7-3 victory in game two, for the team's fifth consecutive win. Brooke Taylor hit two home runs in the series for the Saints and totaled five RBIs.

Softball Hosts Rider on Senior Day (12 p.m.)

Siena Softball will host Rider on Saturday for two games beginning at 12 p.m. Just prior to the game at 11:45 a.m. the team will recognize its senior members, outfielder Chelsey Drew and pitcher Danielle Cacciola, for their dedication over the past four years.



Softball Sweeps Sacred Heart

Siena Softball hosted Sacred Heart for an afternoon doubleheader on Thursday. The Saints took the game one win 7-3 before completing the sweep with a 7-0 shutout. Madysen Cossack had 7 RBIs in the doubleheader for the Saints and Brooke Hughes and Danielle Cacciola earned their first wins of the season on the mound.

Softball Splits at Quinnipiac

Siena Softball traveled to Hamden, Connecticut on Sunday to battle conference opponent Quinnipiac. The Saints defeated the Bobcats 10-6 in game one of the doubleheader before dropping the second game 2-1. Senior Chelsey Drew totaled four hits on the day. Head coach Bill Lajeunesse picked up his 150th win for the Saints in the game one victory.
