An 81st minute own goal proved to be the deciding factor as Fairfield defeated Siena Women's Soccer 2-1 in the MAAC opener for both teams at Siena Field. Freshman striker Darby D'Angelo scored for the Saints which suffered their first defeat in a conference home opener in 10 years.

The Siena Women’s Soccer team will host the Inaugural Thomas Ducharme Recognition at the Saints’ conference opener Saturday vs. Fairfield at 1 p.m. at Siena Field. The event serves as a special recognition match and fundraiser started in memory of senior captain Michele Tremblay’s late uncle Thomas Ducharme.

Bridgette Alexander and Magalie Kayrouz scored and Maia Perez recorded a clean sheet with 10 saves as three-time defending America East Regular Season Champion and preseason favorite Hartford shutout Siena Women’s Soccer 2-0 in Connecticut. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made five saves for the Saints which despite the defeat finishes non-conference play with a winning record of 4-3.



Albano, Dorado Lead Saints to Another Win

Junior Gabby Albano scored her second game-winning goal in 48 hours as Siena Women’s Soccer shut out LIU Brooklyn 1-0 on the road. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made five saves for the Saints to post her second clean sheet of the season.



Saints Stun Vermont Late, Again

Siena Women’s Soccer continues to give Vermont nightmares. For the third consecutive season and fourth time in the past five years, the Saints scored either the game-tying or game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation or overtime to stun the Catamounts. This year junior midfielder Gabby Albano proved to be the hero, as her golden goal in the 103rd minute lifted Siena to a 2-1 double overtime triumph at Siena Field.



UAlbany Edges Saints

Miranda Badovinac scored the go-ahead goal in the 71st minute to lead two-time defending America East Champion UAlbany over Siena Women’s Soccer 2-1 at Casey Stadium. Freshman midfielder Deanna Lomino scored her first collegiate goal for the Saints in defeat.



Women's Soccer Fall Clinic Set For Oct. 15

Siena Women's Soccer finally kicks off the program's 38th season in earnest Sunday afternoon when the Saints host Patriot League foe Lafayette in their home opener at Siena Field at 1 p.m. The Saints' would-be season opener Friday night at Big East adversary Seton Hall was declared a no-contest just 99 seconds into the second half of a scoreless match, following an 80-minute weather delay.
