Sobierajski Tabbed ECAC First Team All-Star

Siena Women’s Soccer senior captain Tara Sobierajski has been named to the 2016 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star Team. A First Team selection for the second consecutive season, the Rockaway, New Jersey standout was previously heralded as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, a First Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Tournament Team selection earlier this month.

Quinnipiac Edges Saints in MAAC Semifinals

The Saints out-shot Quinnipiac 20-4, but Al Pelletier's 48th minute goal was the difference as the fourth seeded Bobcats knocked out defending champion and No. 2 seed Siena Women's Soccer 1-0 in the MAAC Semifinals at Hesse Field in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Siena wraps its impressive 2016 season with a 9-7-3 final record, after matching the program's best-ever regular season conference standing.

Siena Women’s Soccer senior captain Tara Sobierajski has been named the 2016 Metro Athletic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Rockaway, New Jersey standout also became the first player in program history to be heralded as a three-time First Team All-MAAC selection.

Tremblay Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District Honoree

Siena Women’s Soccer junior midfielder Michele Tremblay has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I First Team selection. By virtue of her recognition, the Goffstown, New Hampshire native advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

Saints Shutout in Regular Season Finale

Gretta Dry scored the lone goal in the 54th minute as Canisius shutout Siena Women’s Soccer 1-0 in Buffalo on the final day of the regular season. The Saints had previously locked up the No. 2 seed and a Tournament bye to the MAAC Semifinals, and will open their title defense next Friday, Nov. 4 in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

Rachelle Ross came off the bench to score twice late during defending MAAC Regular Season Champion Monmouth's three-goal second half as the Hawks doubled up reigning tournament champion Siena Women's Soccer 4-2 on the Jersey Shore. Senior captain Tara Sobierajski assisted on both Siena goals to surpass Caitlin Cahalan '12 for the program's all-time career assists record which now stands at 21.

Rider Snaps Siena’s Streak

Siena Women’s Soccer held a decided 20-6 advantage in shots, but Rider’s Bethany-May Howard made nine saves and Ellie Smith scored the lone goal as the Broncs fended off the Saints 1-0 in a matchup of the past two MAAC Champions and 2016 contenders at Siena Field. Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made three saves for Siena which saw its six-match unbeaten streak and five-match winning streak snapped.

Women’s Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

For the 14th consecutive season the Siena Women’s Soccer program has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a 2015-16 NSCAA Team Academic Award. The Saints received the honor for meeting the criteria of achieving a minimum team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entirety of the 2015-16 academic year.
