Siena Baseball will hold its annual Summer Showcase on Saturday, August 12 at 9 a.m. at Siena Field. The camp is designed specifically for rising high school juniors and seniors who are looking to gain added experience at their position of interest.

Dan Swain Drafted by Arizona Diamondbacks

With the 1,012th overall pick in the 34th Round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft, the Arizona Diamondbacks have selected Siena Baseball senior centerfielder Dan Swain. The Newton, Massachusetts native becomes Siena College's 24th MLB Draft pick, and 16th since 1996.

Drpich Named First Team All-Region

Joe Drpich continues to rack up the accolades following a stellar 2017 season. The Siena Baseball junior first baseman has been named an ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region First Team selection. The South Salem, New York native was the lone MAAC player to earn First Team honors, and was one of just three conference standouts to receive All-Region acclaim overall.

Siena baseball captain Chris Amorosi and softball captain Lauren Butts have been selected as Siena College’s Leo Dufort Student Athletes of the Month for May. The pair is being honored for their success both on and off the field.

Drpich Denoted ECAC First Team All-Star

Siena Baseball junior first baseman Joe Drpich has been named an Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team All-Star. The South Salem, New York standout becomes the first Saint to earn ECAC First Team acclaim since Mike Fish in 2013. Drpich was one of just three MAAC players to earn ECAC honors, including one of only two to be named to the First Team along with MAAC Player of the Year Jake Lumley of Canisius.

Saints Season Ends With Split at Marist

Siena Baseball saw its 2017 campaign come to a close with a season-ending doubleheader split against MAAC rival Marist in Poughkeepsie. The Red Foxes eliminated the Saints from MAAC Tournament contention with a 4-3 win in the opener, while Siena was able to enact a bit of revenge in denying Marist the regular season crown with a 6-5 triumph in the nightcap.

Marist pounded out 17 hits to take the series opener from Siena Baseball 9-2 in Poughkeepsie. The Saints must now sweep Friday’s regular season-ending doubleheader – and also receive some help – in order to qualify for the MAAC Tournament for a fifth consecutive season.

Siena Baseball mounted a four-run rally over the final two innings capped by a three-run ninth to come from behind and steal a huge conference series triumph with a 5-3 win in the rubber game at Niagara. With the victory, the Saints moved into a three-way tie for the sixth and final MAAC Tournament spot with just one week remaining in the regular season.

Baseball Drops Non-Conference Finale

America East frontrunner Binghamton exploded for 11 runs in the first inning en route to a 22-1 win over Siena Baseball in the Saints' non-conference finale in Vestal, New York. Senior centerfielder Dan Swain recorded two of Siena's five hits, and drove in the Saints' lone run with an RBI single in the eighth.

Senior centerfielder Dan Swain capped a career performance by blasting the game-winning, three-run home run with the Saints down to their final out to lead Siena Baseball to a dramatic 8-7 win at Saint Peter’s. Swain reached base safely in all six plate appearances, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the dish with a pair of home runs, five RBI, and four runs scored.

Siena Baseball took a big step Sunday towards keeping its hopes at securing a MAAC Tournament berth alive. The Saints erupted for 29 runs and 32 hits in a securing a critical doubleheader sweep of Saint Peter's in Jersey City, New Jersey. Siena won the opener 17-2 and took the nightcap 12-4 to clinch its ninth consecutive conference road series triumph dating back to 2015.
