ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio football defensive lineman Casey Sayles (Omaha, Neb.) signed a free agent contract with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams Saturday. Sayles is the third Bobcat who will get his shot in the NFL this season as Tarell Basham and Blair Brown were taken in the NFL draft earlier this week.

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Bobcat Linebacker Blair Brown (Moreno Valley, Calif.) was chosen by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the No. 148th overall pick in the 2017 National Football League Draft Saturday. Brown was the fourth pick of the fifth round and was the seventh Mid-American Conference Player drafted.

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Bobcat defensive end Tarell Basham (Rocky Mount, Va.) was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts as the No. 80 overall pick in the 2017 National Football League Draft Friday. Basham was the 16th pick of the third round and the third Mid-American Conference player drafted.

The Bobcats return three starters from last year’s offensive line in RS junior guard Durrell Wood, junior center Jake Pruehs and RS sophomore tackle Joe Lowery. Wood leads the group in career starts with 26 while Pruehs is just behind him at 25 career starts. All three returning starters started in all 14 games for Ohio a year ago.
