Michigan State wrestling split its two matches, hosting a tri-meet with Clarion and Eastern Michigan at Jension Field House on Friday for Senior Day. After a triumphant, 22-15 defeat over Clarion in the opener, the Spartans then fell to Eastern Michigan, taking the Eagles to the wire, 21-19.

Michigan State Hosts Tri-Meet Against Clarion and Eastern Michigan On Senior Day

Michigan State wrestling closes out the regular season by hosting a tri-meet against Clarion and Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 16. The Spartans will take on a pair of Eagles with Clarion first at 2 p.m., followed by a dual between Clarion and Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. and finishing the meet against Eastern Michigan at 6 p.m. The duals will be streamed on BTN Plus.

Spartan Wrestling Defeated By No. 4 Wolverines To Close Out B1G Duals

On a snowy night in enemy territory, Michigan State wrestling closed out dual competition on Friday night with a 39-3 loss to No. 4 Michigan at Cliff Keen Arena. The Spartans started with a 3-0 lead after a 10-3 upset from freshman Rayvon Foley over No. 9 Drew Mattin at 125. The Wolverines came back with nine unanswered wins to take the match win.

Michigan State Wrestling Drops To No. 24 Purdue On The Road

Michigan State wrestling dropped to No. 24 Purdue on Friday night at the Holloway Gymnasium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Freshman Rayvon Foley defeated 13th-ranked Luke Welch at 125 pounds and redshirt junior Austin Eicher topped Austin Nash at 149 pounds, but Purdue came out on top, 28-6.

Michigan State Takes On Two Ranked Opponents This Weekend

Michigan State wrestling completes its final split road-and-home weekend of the season with a dual in West Lafeyette, Indiana, on Friday, Feb 2. at 7 p.m. hosted by No. 24 Purdue (6-6, 0-5 B1G) at the Holloway Gymnasium. The match will be streamed on BTN Plus. The Spartans return to East Lansing, Michigan, on Sunday, Feb. 4 for the last home conference match of the season against No. 15 Nebraska (7-3, 5-1 B1G) at 1 p.m. MSU Gymnastics takes on Penn State at the same time as part of the annual Tumbles and Takedowns event, and the wrestling action can be seen on BTN Plus.

Michigan State wrestling defeated Indiana in thrilling fashion on Friday night at the University Gym in Bloomington, Indiana, 18-15. A fight at every bout, the Spartans took Indiana to the wire, tied going into the last bout at heavyweight. Redshirt freshman Christian Rebottaro sealed the victory for MSU, defeating IU's Fletcher Miller, 5-2.

Spartan Wrestling Travels To Indiana Friday Before Hosting Wisconsin Sunday

The Spartans split the weekend away and home beginning this Friday, Jan. 19 for a tilt with Indiana (6-4 0-3 B1G) at 6 p.m. at the University Gym in Bloomingon, Indiana. Head coach Roger Chandler returns to his alma mater where he was a three-time All-American. The match will be broadcast nationally on Big Ten Network, with Shane Sparks on play-by-play and Tim Johnson serving as analyst.

Michigan State Wrestling Stifled By No. 1 Penn State

In the home opening dual for Michigan State wrestling, the Spartans were stifled by No. 1 Penn State on Saturday afternoon at Jenison Field House. A lively crowd of 1,652 wasn't enough to rally the Spartans as they dropped the third conference dual of the season, 48-3. Michigan State falls to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in Big Ten action.
