Swimming and Diving Takes Down Oakland On Senior Day

The Michigan State swimming and diving teams beat Oakland today in its final home meet of the season. The men defeated the Golden Grizzlies 160.5-133.5 and the women won 197-103, racking up a total of 21 first-place finishes.

The Michigan State swimming and diving program will host its final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. The Spartans will take on Oakland University, and will honor the 14 members of its senior class.

The Michigan State men’s and women's swimming and diving teams brought home second-place finishes from the Northwestern TYR Invitational. The men finished second out of six teams, while the women finished second out of nine teams.

The Spartans came out strong on the first day of the Northwestern TYR Invitational. The men are currently in first place with 292.5 points, just ahead of Northwestern with 276.5. The women are in second with 274 points, just behind Northwestern with 370.
