Saturday’s Traditional competition saw the Hawks go 3-2 with wins against MEAC rival Delaware State (1,110-996), Kutztown (1,006-867) and Franklin Pierce (996-837).

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore was within three points — trailing 34-31 — at the half against Syracuse (2-0), but a tough-shooting third quarter put the Hawks in a hole that only got deeper into the fourth.The Hawks (1-2) were 3-of-13 in the third quarter and were outscored 16-6, then managed just eight points on 4-of-15 shooting to fall 68-45.
