Rowsey hits 2,000 points as MU tops DePaul, 70-52

Andrew Rowsey reached the 2,000-point mark in his NCAA career and Sam Hauser added 19 points as Marquette posted a 70-52 victory over DePaul on Monday evening at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Hauser's game-high mark came a contest after tying a career-high with 30 points in Marquette's loss at Butler on Friday night. Rowsey posted 11 points for the Golden Eagles (13-6, 4-3 BIG EAST), as did Theo John, which was a career high for the freshman from Minneapolis.

Andrew Rowsey posted 31 points as Marquette rolled to an 84-64 victory over No. 13/15 Seton Hall on Tuesday evening at the BMO Harris Bradley Center to hand the Pirates their first BIG EAST Conference loss. The Golden Eagles (12-5, 3-2 BIG EAST) also recieved big contributions from their freshman class, including guard Greg Elliott who made is presence felt guarding SHU point guard Khadeen Carrington. Elliott closed the game with nine points, four rebounds and three assists.

Markus Howard had 37 points and eight assists for Marquette (11-5, 2-2), three nights after scoring a Big East record-tying 52 points in an overtime win at Providence. His reverse layup with 23 seconds left made it 96-90, but he missed a 3 while 13 seconds left while trailing 97-90.

Howard's record 52 points lift MU past PC, 95-90

Markus Howard broke a nearly 60-year old Marquette scoring record with 52 points in a 95-90 victory over Providence on Wednesday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. In the process, Howard also set a new program record with 17 field goals, including 11 from 3-point range, which tied his own MU record set earlier this season against Chicago State. Marquette's previous record of 44 points was set in February of 1958 by Mike Moran against Creighton and tied in 1990 by Tony Smith against Wisconsin.

Steve Wojciechowski returns to Coaches’ Charity Challenge

Marquette University head men’s basketball coach Steve Wojciechowski will compete for the third year in a row in the Coaches’ Charity Challenge for Camp Hometown Heroes. Wojciechowski, one of 48 head coaches competing from across the nation, can win as much as $100,000 for the charity if he is crowned the winner on March 11.
