Dolezal Named MVC Softball Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention

Loyola University Chicago sophomore pitcher Keenan Dolezal (North Barrington, Ill./Barrington) was named Missouri Valley Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention today by the league office. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.2 grade-point average or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.



Loyola Softball To Hold Summer Camps In June

Head coach Jeff Tylka and the Loyola University Chicago softball program will hold three days of summer camps next month. Camp dates are set for June 20-22 at Loyola Softball Park (6336 N. Hoyne).



Kasubke Named To MVC All-Tournament Team

Katie Kasubke (O'Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic), a sophomore catcher on the Loyola University Chicago softball team, was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Team, it was announced today at the conclusion of the MVC Championship. She is the first Rambler to earn MVC All-Tournament Team honors since 2014.

Ramblers Begin Quest For NCAA Tournament Berth Thursday

No. 8 seed Loyola is making its first appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament since 2014, the school’s first year in the league. That season, the seventh-seeded Ramblers stormed all the way to the championship game before falling to Bradley, 8-7. During that tournament, Loyola knocked off the No. 6 seed (Drake), No. 3 seed (Southern Illinois) and host and No. 2 seed (Illinois State).

Loyola University Chicago (26-25, 9-17 MVC) will be the No. 8 seed in the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, which will be held May 11-13 at Marian Kneer Stadium in Normal, Ill. The Ramblers will face No. 5 seed Evansville (20-32, 11-15 MVC) in the first game of the single-elimination tournament at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11.

Kailee Smith pitched a perfect game and Drake (28-26, 11-15 MVC) pounded out 12 hits to earn an 8-0 victory over Loyola University Chicago in five innings today at Ron Buel Field. The Ramblers fall to 26-25 overall and 9-17 in the Missouri Valley Conference and will have the No. 8 seed in next week’s MVC Tournament, which opens May 11 in Normal, Ill.

The win improves the Ramblers to 26-22 overall and 9-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference and makes winners of the senior class of Alyssa Mannucci, Jacquelyn Murphy and Erica Nagel on Senior Day. Game two of today’s scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to rain and will not be made up.



Bradley Deals Loyola 4-1 Defeat

Loyola Hosts Bradley In Final Home Series Of Season

Loyola looks to stay hot this weekend as it welcomes Bradley for a three-game series and the final home games of 2017. Thanks to Wednesday’s 3-2 win at Indiana State, the Ramblers have won seven of their last nine contests. After opening Missouri Valley Conference play with just one win in their first 13 league contests, the Ramblers have prevailed in seven of their last eight conference outings.
