Homestand Wraps-Up Thursday

LMU men’s basketball continues their three-game week heading into finals for the fall semester when they host Southern Utah at Gersten Pavilion, Thursday, Dec. 8. It concludes a four-game homestand for the Lions (2-3) that started on Nov. 17. Tip-off against the Thunderbirds (2-6) is set for 7 pm on, Sling TV and can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM.

Down by 12 with just over three minutes to play, LMU men’s basketball had a chance at the win in the closing seconds thanks to full court ball pressure that erased all but one-point of that lead. Boise State, however, was able to hang on for an 80-79 win at Gersten Pavilion Monday night.

After a 10-day lay-off, LMU men’s basketball returns to action with a busy stretch of three games in six days. It begins with a return to Gersten Pavilion to host a big Monday match-up on Dec. 5 against Boise State. Hot Shooting Second Half Earns Win

Lions Can't Close at the Buzzer

Teams from the major conferences don't make many trips to Gersten Pavilion, just over 20 since 1984. But when they do, they are memorable. And Thursday night's match-up between LMU and UConn was just that Brandon Brown's three-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark, giving the Huskies a late 65-62 win.

LMU men's basketball (1-1) will complete the opening week of the 2016-17 season back at home when they host Connecticut (0-2) on Thursday night at 7 pm. The rare visit to Gersten Pavilion by one of the nation's top programs for the close of Tip-Off Week 2016 will be the first meeting between the Lions and UConn. Lions' Adjustments Not Enough

The first road game of the season started slow for LMU men’s basketball and the result was a 17-point lead for Nevada, one the Lions would challenge but could never overcome. The Wolfpack went on to earn a 79-64 win at Lawlor Events Center on Monday night.

Road Trip to Nevada Next for Lions

LMU men's basketball will hit the road for the first time in the young 2016-17 season, heading to Nevada on Monday, Nov. 14. Game time is set for 7 pm and the game can be seen on the Mountain West Network and listened to on KXLU 88.9 FM. This will be the 44th meeting between the two teams, the first since the 1995 season.

Four All-CIF Selections Join Lions

LMU men’s basketball has received signed National Letters Intent from four Southern California high school standouts, all of whom played for their respective high school in the CIF State Championships a year ago. Joe Quintana (Bonita), Eli Scott (Chino Hills), Ryse Williams (Redondo Union), and Zafir Williams (Long Beach Poly) have signed NLIs to attend and play for LMU beginning in the fall of 2017.

Tip-Off Week Gets Season Started

The 2016-17 basketball season will get started with a memorable week on the campus of Loyola Marymount University. It all begins with LMU men's basketball hosting Vanguard in the season opener on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 pm.
