For the 19th year at LMU, the third weekend of October will begin with the ceremonial start to the college basketball season, Midnight Madness. The 2016 #LMUMadness will start the extended weekend of action on the LMU campus, today, Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 pm. However, while hoops gets prepared to start its season, it is women’s soccer that will take center stage for this week’s #LIONSTRONG What To Watch For (#W2W4) for Oct. 20-23.

Season Ticket Renewal Window Extended

Due to demand for one of the biggest home schedules in school history, the season ticket renewal window for the 2016-17 LMU men's basketball season has been extended. Fans have until Wednesday, Oct. 19 to renew and purchase season tickets before seats are released for special ticket packages and individual game tickets for the Lions' loaded 18-game home schedule, including games against UConn, Boise State, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, BYU and more.

Behind the Lens of Opening Weekend

The college basketball season began this past weekend with the official start of practice. LMU got things started with the inaugural Lions’ Cookout, a Fan Fest on Lawton Plaza celebrating the start of the season. It was all business the following days, as the Lions hit the court for the first practices of the season.

Basketball Tips-off with BBQ

Jeff Strohm Joins Basketball Staff

From the minute he took over as the head coach of LMU men’s basketball, Mike Dunlap has put together a staff that brings a wide range of experience to the program, and a lot of it. That continues with the hiring of Jeff Strohm as the Director of Operations. Strohm who has over 25 years experience at multiple levels of coaching rounds out the Lions’ staff heading into 2016-17.

Lions Add Two More to 2016-17 Roster

LMU Head Coach Mike Dunlap announced on Tuesday that the Lions have added two more the roster for the 2016-17, adding freshman Erik Johansson and graduate senior Kelvin Amayo for the upcoming season. Both have arrived on campus and will be eligible for the start of the season in November.

LMU Head Coach Mike Dunlap will be in elite company when he is a guest speaker at the Championship Basketball Clinic hosted in Phoenix, Ariz., Sept. 16-18. Dunlap, who enters his third season at the helm of the Lions, is one of 11 speakers on the schedule for the event.
